The impractical CM dress arrived! Is it long enough?

It's an absolutely gorgeous dress. The lining, unlike many silk dresses, is a breathable fabric. The fit is good, I think. It could be a little looser in the bust, but it works.

My question -- is it long enough? I don't actually feel bad in it, FWIW, because it has length in the back.

What about footwear? I tried my taupe cage sandals, my old silver and nude wedges, and the black sandal booties to "Septemberize" it a bit (with jacket, too.)

What else could work? And do any of these?

White, light grey, animal print version 1

I promised some Angie ensembles in the next few weeks when I'm not travelling. Here's one. I have lots of potential versions of this great ensemble; looking forward to trying a few more before the month is over. But this is good for a very casual work-from-home day.

Speaking of impractical wardrobe items...

Look what I just ordered.

Here is how my thinking went. I was interested in the Rebecca Taylor. But that is $417 Canadian dollars (never mind shipping and duties). And it is sleeveless and made of ponte. Talk about seasonal confusion, right?

Then, here is this Club Monaco lovely, in a very similar cut, considered earlier this year by Anna for a wedding. A lovely silk dress (I saw in person) for only $149 Canadian. Yes, it is sleeveless, but it's meant to be a summer dress.

Impractical? Well, let's see how it looks on me. (It's returnable). And if I decide to keep it? Well, let's just say, I hereby vow to be a guest at some awards ceremony next June, come hell or high water. :) I am shopping for the life I want to live.  :)

WIW: anniversary lunch

My August challenge -- besides another travel capsule -- is to try out some Angie ensembles that I haven't yet had a chance to try, in the process de-orphaning a few orphans, and experimenting with new combinations.

Yesterday, I got my first opportunity when Mr. Suz and I went for an anniversary lunch at a local patio.

The first 4 components of the outfit were easy peasy: VC tube skirt, CM split back tank, Okalas, and my anniversary necklace from Israel.

But my wardrobe is very short on cognac and I do not have a cognac bag. What to do?

Binocular case to the rescue! It worked perfectly as a small cross body bag, just big enough for phone , keys, sunnies.

Sadly, I came home from the lunch feeling quite sick. I've been battling stomach flu all week and now have a migraine on top of it. I guess it's just the accumulated stress. Time to lie low for a while.

Speaking of Rebecca Taylor & dresses...

I am so in love with this dress, so in love with this dress, so in love with this dress!!!

Do I need another dress? Do I need another sleeveless dress?

I am so in love with this dress!!!

I want to invent 6 occasions to wear some new dresses.

This dress would be perfect on me. This dress is ur-dress for my body type.

Sigh.
