All things old, nothing new: easy tube skirt outfit

Nothing's new here, everything's old, and that's ok with me.

Not the best photo but best I could get. I am on a short trip to the mainland for the first time since October!! Yippee! But the weather is hot and dressing needs to be easy.

Earrings: Nickel and Suede
Top: Zara
Skirt: One of the famous tube skirts
Sandals: Sorel, the newest thing here at a year old (and barely worn due to pandemic.)

What a chic summer outfit! Are you carrying your gray backpack?

Cute - I have those same earrings :)  Really nice top - interesting enough to wear without that third piece.  Hot here today too - 34 -ish I think?  I'm in linen layers  for work.

Really, this is perfection. This is an outfit that can go anywhere and everywhere and all day.

    Perfect outfit for the occasion.

I am curious about those sandals - what is their comfort level, support, walk ability etc? I have been eying some in different colors.

    Perfect! Very cool shoes!

You look great, and I absolutely hear you on the longevity of pieces that are as right for you as these are!

The edgy footwear makes the whole modern.

Don’t need new clothes when the old ones look this good.Very nicely done.

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

Thanks, all! Today, mercifully, is a little less steamy than yesterday (Lisa, sounds like you're getting what we had earlier this week!) but still hot enough for summer clothes, for sure.

Tanya, I think the sandals could work for you. They are very adjustable (with velcro) and of course they have the wedge. So there is a fair bit of support. It's quite a firm wedge but not completely hard, if that makes sense -- the footbed itself has some cushioning and the sole is, after all, a rubbery substance. I've worn them for full days and walked in them quite a distance but I haven't yet  walked in them for more than an hour at a stretch. Not sure if that makes sense, but you know -- walk to destination/ sit for a while/ walk some more/ sit some more/ walk some more kind of shoes. Not necessarily all day on your feet shoes?

Sharan, good call about the backpack! Actually, since I'm travelling, I only have the bright blue one with me, so I am using that. Not as perfect as the silver, but it will have to do. ;)

    Suz, you look lovely.

Lovely modern classic look on you.  Perfect easy summer dressing.

  • bj1111 replied 3 years ago

@suz, would you recommend the sandals as teva originals replacements?  something for the urban environment that can stand up to a 20-manhattan block walk?

  • Eliza replied 3 years ago

Great look, Suz. The top and sandals keep it fresh, as does your hair. You are proving that tube skirts are forever. Or at least extremely classic and versatile. I had a couple when they took YLF by storm and admire your outfit creation skills. Great sandals.

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

@bj111 -- no -- not really. Or not for most people. These are the "fashion" version thereof, you know? Like a fashion sneaker is not a running shoe. :)

Having said that...I have in fact worn them along Vancouver's Arbutus Greenway, from 32nd down to 7th Ave (that's more than 20 blocks)... and back again. And lived to wear them again.

So maybe I should say -- only for the most intrepid urban hikers who can't bear to wear anything less than stylish on their feet? :)

  • MsMaven replied 3 years ago

You inspired me to get out my tube skirt and wear it last weekend. Much more comfortable except that if I sit down there will soon be a cat on my lap. I do have a cat lap pad but I fear for snags.

Anyway, you look wonderful in your outfit. I’ll keep the combination in mind for a cat free outing.

Excellent outfit - love the sandals and the overall look!

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

WOW - that top and shoes make this for me, just beautiful and the tube skirt is such a useful support act. You look amazing.

  • Katerina replied 3 years ago

    Suz, you look sensational!

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

What a great look! I enjoy the slight surprise of the trendy sandals with it. Heh, I like “intrepid urban hiker.” I wore my Sofft gladiators yesterday and covered five miles, and was standing a lot in between (museums, you know?), so it was a big on-the-feet day. Those shoes worked well for me. But I’m putting a beating on them this summer!

  • RobinF replied 3 years ago

Great outfit - love the top especially!

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Great simple and chic outfit which is elevated by the  person wearing it:-) the blue backpack and the cute sandals (loved those rough soles all my life- so am  happy to see more adults wearing them no brains to their regular outfits).

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

I've always wanted to see those sandals on. You look sporty and chic! So happy the tube skirts are coming back into YLF fashion. I love them! YLF!

  • Jonesy replied 3 years ago

Beautiful and I love how these whites play with your hair color! You look very polished yet ready to walk miles :). Those sandals are really cool.

  • Joyce replied 3 years ago

Suz, would love to know how your feet felt at the end of the day in these fab shoes.

  • bj1111 replied 3 years ago

You just saved me from another pair of pretty but not walkable shoes. Even my sneakers are fashion.

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 3 years ago

Appreciate the honest eval of the shoes!

  • replied 3 years ago

Love it- of course :) Tube skirts are the easiest thing ever- and wearable for anything but formal occasions. I live in mine 6 months of the year!
