Ask Angie: Specs

Tried these on quickly yesterday...fuchsia insides! (Actually, more like neon pink inside, dark red outside.)

I can get more pics.  I see the angle is a bit funny (Mr. Suz is much taller than me) so they appear to be sitting a bit lower on my face than they are, in fact.

Not Angie, but, I like them, Suz!

Suz, not Angie, and pretty clueless with glasses (I'm sure my four pairs are not really right for me lol) but I do like these on you. Though, I can see you wearing something with a slight "cats eye" shape:)

These are good. It also really helps to photo comparisons-/ more this or that. And depends on if you have to find " the one" . Try something with navy/ taupe tones too for your beautiful blue eyes! Sometimes that is better than the red zone.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Well I love them and also the way we can see your beautiful eyes in these photos.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

    Thank you!

These are by the same company that makes my present specs. The fit seems good for me (very difficult to fit for a whole bunch of reasons). Believe it or not, there is a slight cat's eye tilt to these. Here is the link.

These are the same frame width as my current specs (pictured second) but with a bridge size one size smaller (current ones are too big but my optician adjusted them somewhat, which helps.) These would be more adjustable because they have nose pads. I have major trouble with glasses sliding down my face.

BTW, they do come in other colours but this was what they had in stock. I also tried a (different) blue frame but Mr. Suz's picture didn't work out. Will try again.

As for eyes, that is a whole other story. The case of the mysterious travelling eye infections is its title. Every time I go on an airplane I have eye and skin problems and seem to develop allergies to products that were formerly no problem for me.

  • donnat replied 10 years ago

The glasses are very nice, I like the color. Sorry to hear about the allergies.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Lovely! Not as strong a shape as your current specs but the colour is sensational against your skin tone.

  • krishnidoux replied 10 years ago

    I like them a lot.

So sorry about your eyes, Suz! I hope they clear up soon and give you some relief.

These are nice frames, and the smaller bridge would be a great help for fitting, along with the adjustable nose pads. They come in so many sophisticated color combinations. How would you ever choose?

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Thanks so much for weighing in, Angie. Very rude of me to post and run, but we really were running all day! And I hope to go back to the specs store for a few minutes tomorrow.

Question: Are these too much like the current ones? That is one fear. I would like something different enough that alternating would feel like a real change.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

If you're after something more different, Suz - I vote pass on these. My three pairs of specs are very different from one another and they are between 5 and 8 years old. (My prescription sunnies are iconic). All four pairs are standing the test of time!

  • deb replied 10 years ago

I agree with Angie. I rotate four pair and they are all very different.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Okay - thank you so much. Will attempt a few more tomorrow!
