Blue & White/ White & Blue

And a funny story.

Wearing my uniform of wide legs and blue & white.

1. The Zara open weave sweater. So far, no kitty snags! :)

2. The new Zara culottes and a denim jacket Angie featured a while back. Got compliments on this get-up. But funny story. I wore it for a trip to get a haircut in the big city. (Photos taken pre-haircut).

On the ferry trip back, I went to get a little snack of soft serve ice cream in the cafeteria. The cashier thought I had not given myself a proper sized serving and went to get me some more. As I stood in front of the machine, she pressed the lever and SPLAT!!

Chocolate ice cream all over my white jacket! Stains have not completely come out yet. I should get them out with a second soak.

I guess I lack the Angie stay-pristine gene!

Oh my goodness! Sounds like a nightmare…I’ve had waiters drop food on me before so your experience triggered me lol. I hope the stain comes out! And you look great!

  • Jenni NZ replied 5 months ago

Oh no! Hope it comes out! Lovely outfits. Hope you are happy with your haircut as well.

Oh geez . Not sure I’d have been as magnanimous as you - but what are you going do though ? I have this same jacket in black and have worn it once so far . I had such a bizarre experience actually getting it from Gap and then when it finally did arrive , I was a bit disappointed in the fit . It’s much smaller than their usual M on me but I decided to keep it anyways . I love those Zara blue pants on you - they do not look like the stock photo , although a lot of Zara merch is like that .

You look fab in your blue and white outfits. Sorry to hear about the splat and the stains. Have you tried Vanish?

  • Laurie replied 5 months ago

Super cute, both outfits. I really like that flared jacket from Gap, and it's extra good with the culottes. The belt catches my eye every time, too!

Ugh on the chocolate! Bleach is your friend.

Well you know I'm a big fan of white and blue outfits and both of these are superb! :)

The open weave knit in #1 is so pretty. The white jacket in #2 has a lovely shape and detail to it. Blast the ice cream stain, but hopefully a second wash cleans it up.

I need to put silver sneakers on my shopping list. The silver is divine paired with the white and blue. :)

  • Irina replied 5 months ago

Love to see that blue knit in action!
You might try overnight soaking with Oxi Clean. Hope it will work.

  • Suz replied 5 months ago

Good suggestion, Irina. I tried Resolve but next comes the Oxi-clean soak! I'm pretty sure it will come out, and if not, onto the bleach, as Laurie suggests. That's one good thing about white.

Lisa, you definitely need silver sneakers! They are versatile and you are a sneaker girl. So they will work for you well.

LisaP,  you are right about the sizing of the jacket. I ordered petite at first (because of my short-waistedness) but it was way too small in my normal size in petite. I then ordered my regular size, which is just barely ok -- it's very fitted, for sure. But there is stretch. I figured I'd be wearing it either open (in which case it doesn't matter) or mostly closed, sort of as a shirt. What I can't do is layer anything bat or dolman sleeved (like the open weave sweater) underneath it, because the fit in the arms is too snug for that.

Also, I haven't worn mine often either. This was only my second time. I'm ok with that. I have a feeling it will come into its own over time for me -- a lot will depend on if I have the right occasions and the right weather. Denim jackets are my topper of choice in summer so it is good to have some variety in the styling and colours. I like how you can wear a skirt and/or dressier culottes or pants and still feel dressed down.

Jenni, I am happy with my haircut, yes -- it's shorter again, for summer. The blue's all gone, alas, but there are still some darker charcoal bits.

Aquamarine, I hear you! I've had a few incidents like that, too. Luckily, this jacket is denim, not silk! And not a super expensive item. But I'm pretty sure the stains will come out, too, which helped me keep a smile on my face. That, and the extra large serving she gave me for the price of a small....

I love the fit of the white jacket on you - it looks so elegant and yet practical and gorgeous with your culottes. An outfit that could take you anywhere!

I don't have Angie's white superpower either and invariably find that whenever I am eating pasta or some other stain hazardous food, I am in white. I hope the stain comes out for you.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 5 months ago

Your blue and white outfits are fantastic, Suz. So good with the silver belt and sneaker accents. What a bizarre mishap with the jacket. Hope the stain comes out on the second try!

  • Sisi replied 5 months ago

You look fab! White and blue with silver footwear is one of my favorite color combinations.
Sorry but I couldn't help laughing at the ice-cream accident! But I'm sure the stain will go away.

Grrr, re the ice cream.  I love a white tee and I love pasta and cherries- I’m always wearing a small part of lunch on my shirt.  A little shout or oxy cleaning and a lot of soaking.

But much love for both outfits.  And the sliver just adds a bright and shiny pop.

  • RobinF replied 5 months ago

Ouch! Sorry about the mishap! Hope it all comes out.

Great outfits. You do navy and wide legs so well.

  • Dee replied 5 months ago

Quintessential Suz with these wonderful blue and white combos. Love the fit and proportions of both. Casual yet elegant. Fingers crossed all will be restored after the ice cream mishap.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

KILLER cute looks all round, Suz! And what Dee said. Casually elegant and radiant as always. LOVE you in wide pants! Made for you!

I hereby crown you Queen Blue, White and Silver. You wear the palette with the best of them!!! Soooo perfect on you. Signature!! Your silver hair is the BEST accessory :)

URGHHH! The ice cream :( - I echo Irina. Try soaking in oxy-clean. Fingers crossed!

  • Cookie replied 5 months ago

Nooo! I’m glad you think it’s funny! I guess you should order the vanilla ice cream next time you wear the cute jacket.

  • cat2 replied 5 months ago

Love the peplum jacket, that looks great on you! Invariably when I wear white, a server will drop something on me, I will sit on someone’s ketchup packet or I will space out and order yellow curry noodles.

  • Karie replied 5 months ago

I’m loving both wide leg pants and denim jackets at the moment and these fit you spot-on (pun not intended!). Chocolate ice cream is the worst - I got some on a pair of Gap light wash jeans years ago and was never able to fully get it out. Hopefully you’ll have better luck.

  • Suz replied 5 months ago

    Thanks again, all!

Reporting back -- the Oxiclean soak worked! Stain is gone.  :)

  • Jaime replied 5 months ago

Glad the stain is gone because jacket looks fantastic on you. Both outfits are signature Suz in the best way.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

    YES! Good news, Suz :)

  • Star (Lise) replied 5 months ago

    Yay for oxiclean!

  • Lisa replied 5 months ago

Yay, glad the stain came out!

  • bella replied 5 months ago

I was holding my breath as i read through the posts. Happy to hear that the stain is gone. Your cobalt sweater is great and very on-trend. Looking good!

  • Kyle replied 5 months ago

I’m thrilled to see that we are peplum jacket style twins, Suz! You wear it very well, and I’m so glad those stains came out. Crisis averted!

Blue, white and silver is such a cool and crisp summer combo, and a great signature look for you. I always take notes when you post since our palettes are so similar, and your wardrobe is very dialed in.
