Blushing again: in the wild

So I wanted to show you all my outfits from last weekend, when we went to Stratford, but I only managed to get two photos in the wild.

I took everyone's advice and wore the blush jacket with navy -- in this case, my L&L Gap flares. Loved it. Thanks for the suggestions.

I also got to wear my navy David Meister sleeved sheath. It gets so little wear but is such a great dress -- I got several compliments on it at the theatre. I don't have a full length photo from that night but here's another pic of me in it.

Last weekend, I wore it with the cranberry "hoodie" as a topper. An unusual combo but I think it worked really well. Will try to snap a photo of that at some point.

I also wore my gold Okalas but that was their last outing of the season, alas. It is FREEZING here today.  ;(

Stunning, Suz! The blush with navy is genius. The dress should be worn as much as possible, it is perfect for so many occasions. Both outfits are great and very you. I also love the pairing of a hoodie and a sheath. How clever!

You look fantastic Suz. The dress is very flattering and I'm not surprised that you received compliments.

I really like your blush jacket. I have a similar one that I bought from zara a couple of years ago. It's a very pale pink. You have inspired me to try it with black next Winter.

Oh, the blush jacket looks lovely with the navy flares! I adore the sheath dress too. YLF!

Everything is lovely, Suz; you look great. I like the leopard with the blush, it's unexpected. Hope you had a great trip. (Speaking of Stratford, have you seen Slings and Arrows?)

Love everything here - my word - especially you in that killer dress. Of course you were complimented! WOW.

Did you wear the hooded cardi over the dress?

  • kerlyn replied 8 years ago

Beautiful outfits, and that dress on you?  Stunning!

  • Maneera replied 8 years ago

Fabulous! That dress is so so so drool-worthy. I can't believe HOW MUCH I love it!

The blush jacket looks great with navy. Lovely click in the wild! The leopard print scarf is such a great touch for that outfit. YLF!

First things first  ;) THE DISHES !  I want them!

Ok, anyways, back to you - lol.  Navy and blush is dynamite on you - that was indeed a great suggestion.  Kind of fun to wear flares again, isn't it? And you're right about the blue dress - that is an uber-flattering piece that will never be dated. Cool idea to wear it with the cranberry hooded sweater - what shoes did you wear?

So nice to have had a Straftford weekend - I love that part of Ontario at this time of year. It's cold today here too - I think that was it for any warm weather.

Gorgeous combo with the blush and navy! And yes, that dress looks amazing.

  • Stephanie replied 8 years ago

You look positively radiant! The navy and blush combo is a winner. I have a dress in my closet like your navy one that only gets a few wears per year, but it always feels like the ultimate treat when I get to wear it. It looks beautiful on you!

Beautiful! Love the navy and blush and the stunning dress. I also like the way you have warmed up the colour of the dress by wearing the scarf with it near your face.

You look beautiful, Suz! I love you in the blush jacket! It's great paired with the jeans. And that dress is fabulous on you. The neckline, draping, everything. It's like it was tailor made for you. I love how you chose just the drop earrings, they really call attention to the neckline and keep the focus on the dress. Masterful!

Thanks, all. I will try to snap a photo of the outfit with the dress in the next day if I get a chance. I'm travelling again later this week so won't be able to do it then.

Angie, I wore the dress alone (with earrings and Okalas) inside the theatre itself. I wore the dress alone and also part of the time with the scarf at the restaurant. And walking to and from the restaurant and theatre, I wore the hooded cardigan, but not with the hood up. Instead, worn more like a funnel neck cardigan. I think it worked quite well! I had been planning to wear the blush jacket actually, but the weather seemed to call for something lighter and cozier.

I wore Okalas with this outfit, Lisa, and I wore my Zara ink neoprene top booties with the flares. I wear those all the time.

The dress is funny; it's almost "corporate" -- I mean I can imagine someone wearing it to work cocktails or holiday parties. Yet it is just such a perfect colour and fit and that seems to elevate it somehow.

Suz, is that the resto in Stratford that serves up the to-die-for-Pavlova?

Back to outfits...I am just crushing over your blush and navy/ink blue combinations. Feminine, yet edgy at the same time. Are you feeling a pull to feminine? I am!

Beatifuk! That is such s great way to work in thd blush! Sunce I gmhavd a sugar eye for " my" mauvy -blush, I'm doing simikar, grounding in darker colors, even with black.
Super dress. Alas, I've not found my David. Sometimes I think I should hunt more. My TS dress worked well but I'd likd something that works like a dressy not- black LBD.

Wow, what a great travel capsule. You look smashing! I love the flares outfit with the jacket especially.

  • Sal replied 8 years ago

Both lovely looks and it appears to be a stunning part of Canada!

I love the blush and navy, it looks very you, and I hope you get a chance to repeat before it cools down too much!

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

Stunning. That dress on you is one of my favorite looks -I wish I could look like that! And yay for the blush jacket, looks like it's a workhorse in the making.

  • lyn67 replied 8 years ago

Yess! The blush jacket is great with navy, and wow, that dress is still best of all! Love the idea of the burgundy hoodie with it, and think it looked fab! Hope you'll post a pictie soon.

  • replied 8 years ago

WOW.  That dress is breathtaking on you!  Everything in that ensemble is perfect.  And I am in love with your blush jacket.  I hope to see many more pictures of it.

  • Karie replied 8 years ago

That dress is gorgeous, very classic and will not go out of style. Wearing navy with your blush moto was a fantastic idea, those colors together make you shine!

My Okalas are going to be put away for the season soon too (we actually had snow flurries yesterday!) I wore them with tights last week, though, and I liked the look, so maybe a little more wear for them...as long as it doesn't snow again...

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

ooooooh. I like the way you styled the hooded cardigan over the frock!

  • Laurie replied 8 years ago

Suz!  love the shot in the wild - that jacket stops me cold every time.  If I have a wardrobe hole it is for a real leather blush jacket.  The whole outfit is wonderful, and I will shamelessly copy someday.

The dress is one of my absolute favorite styles. I have 3 dresses in similar style and always feel great and get compliments in them. Navy is fantastic for a dress like this.  Thanks for inspiring me to pull my dresses out for the fall season here.

    The restaurant looks very cozy!
