CC Fail but Colours for Angie

I said I'd play, but...yesterday I was so busy shovelling, I didn't get out of my gear.

Snow still coming down like mad today and I thought I had an eye appointment downtown. Needed tall waterproof boots for slush situation. Got there only to realize I'd messed up on my calendar! It's a month from now. Ooops!

So I went to browse the shops and look what I saw! Eileen Fisher is doing teals and turquoises this year -- not that it does you much good, Angie, since you're pretty much sized out, but it's pretty! And Scotch and Soda has a big selection of Dutch oranges.

I did at least manage light neutral trousers. I hope that counts for something!

Bonus snow views. I'm travelling the rest of the week and can't promise no dark neutrals because, major snow and slush all over. I will cheer you all from the sidelines!

A week ago my Bellevue based Dad was sending me pics of the flowers in his garden, but yesterday he sent a snow-day picture saying he had spoken too soon.

Suz, you can DO this! :-)

Very stylish out and about pics. I like the proportions/silhouette and FWIW, plaids and blue and wine are all good!

  • Helena replied 5 years ago

Looking gorgeous as you always do Suz. Hope the snow doesn't overstay it's welcome!

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Carla, but navy? I figured that was not okay. Especially since navy is my black. ;) I could have worn a bright blue sweater but wanted the t-neck today for the weather. So...there it was.

Anyway...I'll have denim bottoms for the trip, a patterned pair of pants (but dark -- black watch tartan) and a grey sweater dress. Dark neutral footwear because, no choice.

  • Runcarla replied 5 years ago

Okay, Suz. You get an A-

  • Angie replied 5 years ago

Suz, the outfit is KILLER. So 2019 :) The beanie matched with the bag is  SUPER cute. I could eat you up.

(SO MUCH SNOW IN SEATTLE. More than 12 inches. I WANT IT TO GO AWAY!)

Thanks for thinking of me! I saw the turquoise EF come through too. Gorgeous colour. And the S&S stuff is sooooo yummy. I'm excited to try their Spring stuff.

  • Bonnie replied 5 years ago

Your outfit is terrific. Wish I could wear the wide leg pants, they look so stylish on you.

  • Jaime replied 5 years ago

Clearly the snow missed you and decided to come visit you in Vancouver. Ugh! Regardless you look fantastic and your hair is glowing. Good luck travelling this week!

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Hahahah, Shevia, that is hilarious. I'm en route to Toronto/ Kingston tomorrow and there's been a huge storm there as well. I'm all packed with TWO pair of waterproof boots and my actual snowboots and parka are back in Kingston awaiting me. :)

My hair got a lot of positive comments from the SA's at Nordstrom's today. "Oooooh, love the pixie style...." etc. etc. etc. Nice. :) I was thinking of changing it up next round but I might elect to keep it for one more go.

Bonnie, what are you smoking? You would look GREAT in wide legs!!!

Angie, doesn't that sweater look "you"? Fun stuff. The EF is more turquoise in real life, too....different tints/ shades of it, plus teal. I liked some of it. But I especially liked the pinstriped linen pants. Not too much spring stuff out in the store yet apart from these two sections.

The little beanie is new. I bought a bunch of gear from Icebreaker. This is nice and soft and warm and goes with my bag. Yay.

Carla, thanks for letting me cheat. I seriously would have loved to do the challenge but alas, not the right week for that here. ;)

    Helena -- thank you!

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

ETA -- these culottes from J. Crew -- so much love for them. I only wear them a few times a year (though I wear them more here in Vancouver than in Kingston) but they are such a lovely fabric and still going strong.

  • replied 5 years ago

Great outfit, as always!  I love that scarf every time I see it - what a great statement piece. And no comment on your snow ;)

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Suz, you look so stylish on a cold snowy day. I hope you bought that striped sweater? Sweater dress? In #5.
I am trying to keep warm today in a merino wool sweater dress with a wool scarf and leather jacket worn indoors. I don't know what will keep me warm enough in the mountains later this week. The weather reporters say snow, snow and more snow..

What a great outfit, with and without outerwear added. You are one stylish slush-puppy, Suz!

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Slush-puppy indeed! Snow still falling, but wet, yes, and slushy. Must be similar for you, too, right, Sharan?

It's deeper than it looks here, but we didn't get as much as Seattle/ Victoria, I don't think.

Lisa, every time I put on that scarf I think of the wonderful MsMary, who gave it to me. Wasn't she brilliant? It's fantastic!! Cozy. It can also be worn as an indoor piece in a pinch.

Joy, didn't buy that sweater -- orange is not my colour! I just wanted Angie to see it. :)

  • kellygirl replied 5 years ago

Gorgeous culottes! You wear them so well. The outfit is so pretty head to toe and more love for that scarf! Love looking at the snow in pictures! Glad there hasn't been much around here--although there is snow on the mountains near my house!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 5 years ago

Yup. Lots of slush here in Seattle right now! Not sure what I'm going to wear to work tomorrow. . . .Trying to dress from the feet up. :)

  • rachylou replied 5 years ago

Ok. That is one stylish outfit. We’re getting a little bit of rain here (ok, well, we have flood warnings), and I’m the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man in Black...

  • Katerina replied 5 years ago

You are so stylish, Suz. What a brilliant outfit. I love the scarf. The burgundy hat - bag combo is sooo delicious on you. The colour is amazing with you complexion. It is definitely one of the colours for some more scarves and other additions to your wardrobe. I love the colour of this bag. What does the bag look like?
    Re snow - sigh.

  • Brooklyn replied 5 years ago

You look fab! I love seeing the teal coming through. It’s my 2019 colour.
And it was 40C here yesterday :)

  • nemosmom replied 5 years ago

You look fantastic! Love the blue scarf with your berry beanie and bag! Re: snow, we got another wave last night, with more forecast for next week. GAH!

  • Janet replied 5 years ago

You look so darned cute all bundled up, the snow just had to follow you! ;-) I like the colors in that orange stripe — I just wish I wore orange better! I will do bits of it.

  • replied 5 years ago

But you're a stylish shush puppy :) You need some red snowboots!
I think we should all go visit Brooklyn :)

  • Cardiff girl replied 5 years ago

Look at all that snow!you still manage to look stylish even in a beanie, how is this possible? Its really mild here at the moment ,we ve got frogs spawn in our pond and the daffodils are coming out.l will try and will some of this early spring over to you guys!

  • viva replied 5 years ago

I love that scarf - you've tied/looped/thrown it on in just the perfect way. And I just love the navy turtleneck/jacket combo: so chic.

  • Runcarla replied 5 years ago

Dress for ultimate airport comfort and bring snacks. Pearson is a nightmare. Via trains seem to be running okay.

  • Christina F. replied 5 years ago

Looking good! I like your mix of navy and burgundy - very rich looking.

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Thanks, all. The burgundy is quite a "plum" version of the colour and yes, the items do match! (More so IRL than in the photo).

    Thanks, Carla. Will do!

Viva, the scarf is an infinity thing so impossible to botch. Plus it is stretchy! Thank you, Ms.Mary!

Cardiff Girl, yes, please send spring! I though Vancouver weather was supposed to be better than Kingston's! :)

Suntiger -- yes to red snowboots AND to visiting Brooklyn!

Haha, Janet -- certainly feels that way.

Nemosmom, I know, right? Crazy. I'm heading into more of it when I go east today.

Brooklyn, can't wait to see you in the teals!

    Katerina, bag in Finds.

Rachylou, I'll bet you look incredibly cute in your trusty puffer.

Sharan, that's the ticket -- feet first!

Kelly, thank you. YOU also wear crops/ culottes really well!!

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 5 years ago

Such a beautiful fail! And even better when you're all bundled to go outside. But I would say that, because I think the snow looks wonderful too. Nice to see the plum hat too, a day after you said you were moving in that direction.

  • LaPed replied 5 years ago

I'm not even attempting the colour challenge. I wear a red beanie almost every day, and carry a turquoise tote to work. I figure that's plenty. ;)

EF's new releases caught my eye too. I can't resist a turquoise/earth tone stripe for some reason, although the brown version would arguably get more wear -- from me at least.

  • Sal replied 5 years ago

I love this outfit on you Suz!!  It is fun and practical.

I love turquoise and orange so the colours on display are right up my alley.

  • Cee replied 5 years ago

So cool, you have hypothermia... Literally !

  • Style Fan replied 5 years ago

I love the wide legged pants.  Great look.  I am happy to see orange showing up.  I hope your trip goes well.

I haven't posted for the challenge yet.  I hardly get out of my Yoga clothes.

  • replied 5 years ago

Yeah - I’ll be paying close attention to EF this spring after seeing these colours , and Scotch & Soda too.
