Cherry and burgundy. Or is that merlot?

Just a quickie. I got this dark cherry TNA ultralight down puffer with a store credit at Aritzia and it has already proved its worth. Here I am trying it on with a wine patterned scarf. The colours don’t show too well in the store lights, alas. Also another mix— true red with burgundy.

Perfect for that next wine and cheese night !

They look super to me. I especially like the second version. Red FTW!
And I will never understand the difference between burgundy, merlot, wine, maroon etc.

Wow, that red puffy is a beauty! How have I never owned a red puffy?! (Gear nerd, sorry. :) The scarf is gorgeous too!)

2 great looks!  Didn't know Aritzia did lightweight puffers. I was in there today in fact, eyeing up a storm :)  Question - what lipstick do you wear with red clothing ? (yes, I'm pedantic about that kind of thing, which is half the reason I don't wear red...)

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Lisa, I don’t think much about it. I just wear whatever I have. All my lipsticks (about 4 in total) are various berry tones, from a my-lips tone to slightly brighter/ richer. So they seem to harmonize. I would struggle much more to wear any sort of orange because my natural lip colour would clash. But keep in mind I am the type of person who almost always wears makeup but barely ever changes it up. So maybe I could do better here.

Your makeup always looks great to me :)  Just curious - as I have a hard time wearing red yet appreciate how impactful it can be. Might be too intense for my colouring though. You wear it SO well !

Burgundy, merlot, what about zinfandel? The jacket, scarf, and sweater all look super on you.

Wow, Suz. Love these looks. That puffer is a great red; not a shade that is easy to find. The outfits suit you perfectly and your hair is gorgeous.

So cheerful! Looks great on you!

Trust you to be able to look fabulous in this combination Suz!! Red is your friend :)

    Gorgeous on you!

Beautiful! I’m declaring this the Year of the Red Puffy!

  • Jaime replied 5 years ago

Red had been one of your best colors since your hair color changed to silver. Your reds mix beautifully.

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Shevia, as a little kid I looked wonderful in red. Up until I was close to 40, even. Then for 15 years or so, only the coolest reds would do. Now that I am silver, true and bright reds seem best. Fascinating.

Thanks all for kind comments. If I don’t reply to each iris because my computer is broken and I am typing on a frustrating iPad. Argh!, But that is a story for another post. When my computer gats fixed!

ETA I really like this puffer. I have no idea about longevity but it is rain resistant ethically sourced 700 fill down. Packs into a little case. Similar to the Patagonia down sweater. It comes in about a million colours. As is common with these jackets it might be a tricky fit for those with very curvy hips because the zip is only one way. But there is an adjustment at the bottom of the jacket to help with that. It is called the Botanie and is at Aritzia by TNA.

OMG Suz, that sweater and scarf are absolutely KILLER on you !

#1 is adorable! And it’s amazing how that very playful scarf from that shot can transition into something so proper in #2, which is also very nice.

My favorite lipstick is Clinique’s Raspberry glacé. Alas, the color was discontinued a few years ago, and my last tube of it is nearly empty. For Christmas, I’ve charged my mother and a sister with finding a replacement.

All this red mixing is making this find, which I saved a while ago, even more tempting.

I like the puffer. Ethically sourced down wasn’t even on my radar until recently, after I’d already bought my jacket. I think your jacket is actually more of a Syrah, lol.

Suz - you look fantastic in red, and I really love your hair, it never looked better. Maybe your new climate is the secret?

  • Mirjana replied 5 years ago

Lovely as usual, you look stunning!!!

  • replied 5 years ago

The reds totally work together to my eye! #2 is my favorite of the two, but love that floral one Fashintern posted too!
Eta did you try the scarf with new brown jacket yet? It could possibly work.

Beautiful! You have me thinking that every woman should have a red puffy. With all the shades of red, we could surely find the perfect shade for our complexions.

  • kellygirl replied 5 years ago

Ooh, gorgeous combinations of red! That is your color for sure!

  • cindysmith replied 5 years ago

Love that puffer! Also, love you in the red cardi

  • lyn67 replied 5 years ago

My word, both looks so glamorous-if scarves count I can too make outfits with  my very few red tops and  other shade of red patterned scarves!

  • Laura replied 5 years ago

Is the scarf a bandana print? Looks perfect with the Western-inspired belt!

  • Angie replied 5 years ago

Christmas Red is YOUR colour. Wave to Helena.

#2 is KILLER. Fun pattern mix.

Those short puffers work sooooo well in our climate. My new short Boden puffer is a workhorse. Excellent that you got another.

Suz, you look as fabulous and as radiant as ever. The West Coast aggrees with you.

  • Helena replied 5 years ago

*waves back* Gorgeous! I almost bought that same coat. You look fabulous in red.

  • Bijou replied 5 years ago

So lovely to see you in your reds and that puffer is so lovely on you, a wonderful purchase.

  • texstyle replied 5 years ago

Beautiful reds on you Suz - love both outfits.

Looks great Suz! The burgundy and cherry go very nicely together. I also like the shininess of the puffer.

  • Cardiff girl replied 5 years ago

Theses reds at are your definitely colours and that scarf goes so well with the puffer.lts not many people that can make a puffer look so glam.

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Thank you all for compliments. More when my tech issues diminish!

  • Runcarla replied 5 years ago

Like your puffer outfit A LOT!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 5 years ago

These reds are beautiful on you, Suz. Super new jacket! And I love the long cardi and print scarf with the plaid pants. Fun, subtle mixing of hues and patterns.

  • unfrumped replied 5 years ago

Super reds! Love the jacket. I got a “ red” Arcteryx nanodown type jacket a few years ago and don’t know how I lived without it.
