Slight weight change and slight shrinkage mean I don't love this dress as much as I loved it last year, but it sure makes a great "house dress," as my Granny would have said. Perfect for hot days at home.

It still fits beautifully and the color is divine. You always look SO good, Suz!

I like it very much and am sort of sad you don’t want to wear that outfit out of the house! You look absolutely lovely. But I get it if your feelings change over time for something.
Also like your cute sandals. -

Is it Phoebe? Seems different than mine - shorter and waist in right spot. Did you got petite? I like your fit better :)

It still looks great no matter how it feels.

You dress so much better at home than I do! The dress looks so nice on you, I’m surprised you don’t want to wear it out in public.

House dress! I'd forgotten about that term. It brings to mind a loose zippered or buttoned dress. Your version looks nicer than I imagine a house dress back in the day would have looked!

What Kelly said, and you “house dress” in style. I can't see any weight gain.
That brighter blue is just lovely, Suz. Do you wear cobalt?

Looks perfect to me... but I get it what I see and what you feel can be/are different.

I think it still looks great. I do understand falling out of love with items, though.

The blue is wonderful on you and the fit looks great to me.

Thanks, all. The fit is just a big snug at the waist and bust -- it did shrink a tiny bit. It's possible DH put it in the dryer once without my noticing. The quality of this dress -- and yes, it's the Phoebe! -- is really nice for the sale price. And all cotton cannot be beat on a day or 30 C heat!
I did wear it out, in the end -- wore it for my walk in the woods.
Angie, I love these brighter blues in summer. I wear royal (like this) -- a bit brighter/ lighter than true cobalt, right? Especially now that my hair is grey. I always wore it in summer but now it looks good in winter, too.
Anchie, it's probably a bit shorter on me because it's a bit too small due to shrinkage! And I am short waisted (by a little) and long through the rise. Even so, the waist on this dress feels a bit short on me IRL, especially this year. It is an issue with some Boden dresses that is probably worse if you have substantial bust. I'm quite small, but again, a bit of weight gain in that area is making it snug.
I will wear this dress for the coming summer -- no plans to donate yet, because a casual, easy wash and wear dress like this is GOLDEN for my lifestyle. I don't have to remember to iron it -- nothing.

It’s lovely! My granny used to have house dresses, too, such a good thing to have!

Suz, you, blue and that dress look fab! I do not see anything but pretty!

It looks great on you, so ditto Mainelady!
My grandma wore house dresses, nothing as nice as that, but usually pants for going out for some reason. -

You look fab! I need to start wearing my 'house dresses' more often :)

I think this is great on you! House style for me is shorts and tees so this is way better!

Elizabeth P replied 4 years agoIt still looks great Suz. Glad you can still find a way to enjoy iteven if it doesn't feel as good as it did.I never thought I'd say this twice in one year (outside of winter)... but still jealous over your weather! What's with that? We have JUST hit the 20's.

You really look gorgeous in this dress - it is great that this is your house dress. Why not enjoy this dress at home instead of leaving it for good?
I have a cotton boho style dress (in Finds) that I bought, originally thinking I would wear it out to dinner and for good - but I rarely wore it as I realised I prefer being a bit more dressed up for those occasions. As soon it was demoted to "house dress" status, it has become a great workhorse, I really enjoy wearing it. Cotton is perfect in hot weather.

Well, this is far nicer than the “house dresses” I remember seeing! You look great, and I’m glad you’re still getting use out of that dress. I can relate to the fit/weight gain issues. Sigh.

Looking good, Suz. That blue is stunning on you; your hair looks great, too.
I get the dissatisfaction with small shifts (though don’t see anything off in your photo) and you make a great point: wear your clothes the way they make you feel the happiest. YLF, as always.

YAY. I can see you wear bright blue year round. It's good with navy, white and silver - your staples.
