Horseshoe Cloud

Just. quick snap of me in my horseshoe jeans from the blog. What I said there: I have a pair in the splotchy blue “cloud” wash (naturally). Note: the fabric content of these is not 100% cotton. (Here’s the breakdown: Cotton 59%, TENCEL™ Viscose 36%, Recycled Cotton 5%). I don’t know if the other washes differ — they may. Also, what Angie says about the rise is accurate. Recall, I have a long rise. But I am relatively short. I almost never buy petite pants because of the rise issue, but because of the baggy nature of these I thought I would give petite a try, for the length. In the end, I a actually sized UP in petites, because for me the rise was a bit short in my regular size — the extra room in the waist helped with the rise length.

I got mine on super sale. I see they are back to full price on the Canadian site -- I am tempted by the pink or the off white but will wait to consider if they go on sale.

FWIW.

Not really "styled" here -- just what I threw on for a walk in our neighbourhood.

I was vowing to buy only Canadian but did break down to buy these. Mea culpa.

These look super cute and stylish on you! A great addition to your wardrobe.
I just ordered the bright pair from Angie’s blog post today, in a tall size as several reviewers mentioned the length was too short.

KILLER cute jeans, and well styled too! They suit your blue, silver and white wardrobe perfectly, Suz

Waving at my Gap horseshoe twin!

Helpful info! I sized down in the regular. You sized up in petites. Finicky finding our sweet spots, isn't it ;)

They look great on you, Suz. Way to go, persisting to get the right fit with an out-of-the-ordinary size choice. It can be hard to navigate sizing, but it's nice that these came with the petite option.

Love that fabric--it is my favorite of all the Gap options. It reminds me of the traditional Japanese shibori fabric, and I wonder if it was made the same way. I could do my whole wardrobe in shibori!

I also love that you paired it with that shirt, which looks linen/natural. Just a slightly different texture brings interest.

Those are great on you , Suz ! Actually they look much better on you than they do in the stock photo , and I’m betting the Tencel gives it its drape and ease . I also like them in this shorter length . I’ve dabbled a bit with the barrel - horseshoe silhouette and have decide that the more modified barrel works best for me . I’m almost tempted by these that you’re wearing but just don’t don’t think I’d have anywhere to wear them , to be perfectly honest . Anyways , nicely done ! And now I want new sunglasses ;)

Eta - are these the same jeans as featured in the blog ? I see the Gap calls them a soft barrel ….

  • Dee replied 6 months ago

Super cute barrels, nice laid-back vibe and your hair colour complements the jean's soft blue cloud pattern.

What a fun pair of jeans! The white shirt and silver sneakers really tie this entire outfit together. YLF!

    Thanks, all!

Yes, Lisa, these are the same jeans. Here's a link: https://www.gapcanada.ca/brows.....d=1#pdp-pa

To get them to fit as they do on the models, I think I'd have needed to size up even more. Unless you have a  narrow waist and/or a short rise that might be required. There is plenty of room elsewhere so some would have to size down, as Angie said.

    They have other, similar styles.

I like the shorter length for summer for me but I could also see wearing them longer and might try the off-white in the regular size vs. petite to see how those work -- but only if they go on sale!

Karie, I hope they work for you!

Angie, Sharan -- thanks! And yes, it can take some fiddling to get the size you want...

Carol, thanks, and good eye. The top is an old GAP cotton gauze, and you are right -- it has some texture.

    Dee, Lisa - thanks!

It’s so great to try these different silhouettes — even better when they look this good! I can see these fitting in perfectly with the rest of your wardrobe and your beautiful Canadian summer. Enjoy them!
