I blame Shevia

It is her fault that I looked at these shoes from Zara.

And while I was there, I saw the cropped sweater for a mere $9.99.

So I figured I would re-order the Trafulac top at the sale price and send back the regular version. Why not?

In honour of Mo's No Buy June, which I broke so spectacularly, I am modelling these first with my workout gear. I was so excited I had to tear the box open right away. Forgive the messy hair, zero makeup look.

Mr. Suz was home today. He said: Lady YouLookFab goes golfing!!

(But he likes the shoes). The leather is unaccountably soft for Zara. The shoes are very LONG for my on-the-short-side feet, but they feel oh so comfy in my regular 37.

Sweater is just for fun. A bit peachy for my complexion but will work with a few items in the closet and gives me a chance to try the crop top look. It's a nice item to stash in a bag in case a topper is needed in frigid air conditioning. In homage to Ceit I show it first with the striped skirt. :)

  • carter replied 10 years ago

You are so on a roll! So happy to see you finding things you so clearly love. My timing/memory may be off, but it seems to me that you have opened yourself to so many new wonderful things since you finally found yor HEWI suit on the Boston trip. Is that true, or am I imagining it?

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

LOVE the shoes. OMG, they are so perfect for you. More refined than the Saras. Gorgeous cropped sweater too. Looks amazing with the striped skirt and whoa, legs of steel is right! Looking so fab!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

    Hello Ms. Legs. xo

LOVE #4. Killer. And the shoes are killer too. Enjoy.

  • unfrumped replied 10 years ago

Well, you know I love the shoes. And the skirt continues to be fab.
Good for you for trying cropped. I'm not having luck with my long torso, but it looks good on you.

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

That last outfit is SO FANTASTIC!  Am blown away.  All good in my eyes.  You need to stop shopping because you are making me buy mroe things!

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

The crop and flowered top are a match made in heaven.

  • Alassë replied 10 years ago

    #4. So Suz.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

    Oooh! Thank you!

I don't think Shevia will be able to be on -- it must be coming up to Shabbat -- I should have waited to go around blaming her for my shopping insanity.

But wow, this spring/ summer season has been a bumper crop!

I must emphasize the comfort of these shoes to anyone who might be considering. Instead of the rock-hard sole that many Zara shoes have, this shoe has a spongier material. Perhaps no good for those with arthritis, but great for others. The leather is also extremely soft. (Many Zara shoes have extremely hard leather -- I do have a pair of booties that I love but even their leather is very hard -- it just happens to work okay for me because the fit is great.)

Carter, you have certainly seen me do a lot of successful shopping since Boston -- I will go with that. I guess it is Angie's magic touch.

In all seriousness, it did help to meet up with Fabbers in real life. And I think it is partly coincidence. It has just been a really good season for someone with my style preferences and body type. So it's BBQ while I can!  :)

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

Oh my goodness, I LOVE those shoes! #3 and #4 are ultra, ultra fab. Your style is off the charts lately, girlfriend!

Kicking myself that I didn't grab them. Love the crop top of course! You'll see me sporting my citron one and tube skirt soon!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Okay, folks. I am seriously done until NAS.

    NO. MORE. SHOPPING.

I've got a couple of packages on their way, then it's NO. MORE. SHOPPING. for me as well.  For at least one Visa cycle.  Yipes.

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

Love the crop top w tube skirt look.

You look really good without makeup. I wouldn't dare! My head would be sideways with hair covering face.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Denise, that is sweet of you to say.

But I don't believe it about you.

  • MsLuna replied 10 years ago

Those shoes are cuuuute Suz!!!! Love your Zara finds.

I haven't been so lucky with Zara despite the sale.. Did you order online or go to a store? I can't find anything to my liking in store!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

I pretty much always order online because there is no Zara in my city. The online site gives you a better view of things (and more things are on view). The store on weekends can get insanely busy and it's a pain to get a fitting room. I do occasionally pop into one when I'm in Toronto or Montreal, but I try to make it a weekday morning if I actually hope to try things on.

With free shipping and returns, it's really simple to order on line. Deliveries are fast and so are refunds. It's the best online shopping I've found in Canada, frankly. Keep in mind that they are typically a good fit for me at least in tops and jackets. And I know my size in advance. I DO send back a lot of what I order, but I also keep a fair amount.

  • Angela K replied 10 years ago

You know I totally love shoes and those are rockin' :)

Also, I'm seriously jealous of those legs :p. I hope you have fun with all your new goodies!

  • MsLuna replied 10 years ago

Thank you Suz! Just responded on my thread!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

I almost missed this! (it is only Friday morning Suz - I have a whole day of packing in front of me!) I will only get my shoes in another week, so Thank You for the preview! and my goodness do you look incredible. Wow, I love when people order things I collect  - Angie I can see why you love your job!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

YAY! I was hoping you'd get time to see this. But wasn't sure. I think I am a day ahead of myself because we have to take our daughter to camp tomorrow -- I kept thinking today was Friday here.

THANK YOU for the tip on these shoes -- they are so much fun. My very first oxfords, other than the (long retired) Doc Sarahs. I think they're going to be super comfortable, too. We are now triple shoe twins!!

  • Gigi replied 10 years ago

Wow, those shoes are edgy and fun! So neat. They work great with your style! And I do like the cropped sweater. Sometimes a girl just wants to wear pink. :) You also have killer legs, Suz!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

Wow, Suz. Just when I thought you couldn't get more fab. First, How cute are you in no makeup and your workout clothes?! Geez. And those shoes--wow. But outfit 3--well, I am wishing I had my old Army kevlar (helmet) handy. I obviously need to get one of those fashionable crash helmets favored here on YLF.) And 4 is just as stunning, though hard to see from the floor where I landed.

  • Debbie replied 10 years ago

The first thing I noticed is how happy you look. You are truly having fun and I love watching this phase. The cropped sweater looks great on you.

  • replied 10 years ago

How cute to see you in legs and no make-up! You obviously are not playing around with your workouts! Yowza!
Great shoes and sweater. So. We now have the perfect formula for great shopping success. Just swear off all shopping for the month. Works like a charm. ;D

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Ha, Claire, that is it! The secret to unlock all secrets!

Actually, I did say that I could not join No Buy June because I hadn't made any purchases for spring/ summer yet. But then I blithely said I only had a few to make.

    Famous. Last. Words.

You are all too sweet about my workout outfit. In the interests of keeping it real I should say I was wearing that for a good portion of the afternoon. But I did eventually go and shower!  :)

  • Jeanie replied 10 years ago

Gasp!  I love those shoes!  You look sensational in that cropped top and floral shirt underneath.  Are those shoes comfortable?  Oh dear, I shouldn't even ask.  Your buying is contagious.  I am so hoping the deliveries come when DH is at work.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Jeanie, I find them surprisingly comfortable. Often Zara leather is really stiff, but this is not. There's one place (ankle bone) where I foresee I might get a bit of rubbing. I would wear body glide there for sure --- or socks, later on in fall, although I know it is not the current "look." Once temps go down I will need socks anyway. Meanwhile, today, temps were too hot to wear the shoes for any length of time.

Happy to take the blame for your order if DH raises an eyebrow....  ;)

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

Wow Suz , you are on a roll! Gorgeous shoes and the cropped top is fantastic! love the way you have styled them too :). Zara really gets you, isn't it?

  • Elizabeth P replied 10 years ago

    LOL Claire.

    Works for dieting too..,

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Suz, those shoes are to die for.  I am in big trouble when Zara goes onlne in Aus!!  The pink top is so fab.  I think you will really enjoy it.

Oh... and like the idea of blaming our beautiful Shevia lol.

  • replied 10 years ago

Never mind the shoes.. just look at those gams! Killer!

Hehe, actually, those are fab shoes. Shevia has a lot to answer for :) I love how you styled your outfit with the tube skirt and gorgeous sweater. I think the shoes at a little edge. Fabulous!

  • Mona replied 10 years ago

Yup! blame it on Shevia. Good grief! A killer pair of shoes and good to know that they are comfy too.

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

Those shoes are so cool! Way to go, Suz and Shevia! I love them for you, and I love them with that whole ensemble. The cropped sweater is really fun too -- I tried out a cheap one this spring, also, and I'll wear it again in the fall.

  • Gracie replied 10 years ago

OK, you look seriously strong in your workout gear, beautiful leggy lady! That's a fun cropped sweater, I like that color on you. Your pairing it so smartly with the floral top is a hit. Good to hear that the Zara shoes are soft leather, and Body Glide is so useful I also keep it handy.  And yes – Shevia. :)
