In praise of wearing an actual outfit.

I'm one of those who devolved into wearing a lot of loungewear for the first few weeks of distancing. Partly because we are in the midst of a move. (I know. Great timing, right?) Some of our things are still back in Vancouver, so much of my wardrobe hasn't been available to me. Plus, the weather (and my mood) kept calling for extra-cozy clothing.

But today the sun came out, the temperatures rose, and I wore an actual "outfit" of sorts! Nothing fancy, you understand. Just an ordinary, very typical spring outfit for me. No photo, alas. I still don't have a full length mirror and didn't get a selfie.

Still, I got a compliment!! Yes!! A runner passing by said, "I love your outfit!"

It's enough to make me put on real clothes again every day! :)

I’m not surprised you got a compliment- I like how the scarf adds something special to an already good outfit.

I can imagine how fresh and lovely you looked wearing this.

Great outfit - love the scarf! Striking combination of butterfly graphic scarf with breton top.

    Nice!! :)

I like the pattern play between the scarf and the shirt!

It can really boost the spirit to get dressed as in normal times. I have a hankering for a butterfly scarf now .

Very springy! Good luck with your move.

A perfect outfit, and frankly I'm sure you looked fab in your cozy loungewear too ... Absolutely nothing wrong with nesting a bit during a difficult and busy time!

I'm sure it looked great on- love the butterflies!

Nice!  I have to confess, I've developed a real love of sweatshirts.  I'm not even dressing to do errands...they are so quick these days.  And we're still chilly enough that walks need a coat, so any tops get covered.

What's not to love on a trendy modern and bright classic like navy stripes and white jeans, always gorgeous and I love the scarf and snakers to it!

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

Well, what’s not to love?  This is probably one of my favourite outfit formulas.  ❤️

This looks like a perfect combo. I'm really loving stripes right now. I have several LS and 3/4 sleeve tees and sweaters that I've combined with various washes and colors of jeans for my casual WFH outfits. Now I feel like adding more!

Perfectly Suz; such elevated casual. Extra points for pulling it off in the midst of your move. All the best as you settle in.

Since walking around the neighborhood is the highlight of many people’s day now, I can imagine getting an extra bit of fun from spying a happy outfit. Here, there is a lot of dark, dreary mega-casual going on and I wish I could say I was an exception. The good news is that it’s warming up and I look forward to more color everywhere, including my outfits.

YAY for good weather and a fabulously "Suz" outfit! I know you rocked it.

It's going to be nice for a while. It makes things easier.

    GOOD LUCK with the move.

And by all means take a selfie :)

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

That outfit really looks like you!  I hope your move goes well.

  • celia replied 3 years ago

That is a beautiful outfit. Hope you are settled in soon.

The scarf is SO pretty - I must go through my spring stash and get one out - although to wear exactly where I don't know.  And yay for white jeans - again, can't wait to get mine out .  I tell you, I am SO sick of my clothes right now, and the lack of colour is making me feel very dreary.  One thing I have promised myself for next spring/late winter next year (hoping that things will have returned to whatever normal there will be) is a better assortment of casual wear with some flattering and brighter colours.

I now want to go put on an actual outfit because you are on to something here :-D

I am sure you looked fantastic Suz.  I am wearing an outfit today too.  Suddenly I was sick of wearing sloppy clothes although last week that felt right!!

    Great pattern mixing too.

  • smittie replied 3 years ago

Nice pattern mixing :-) I'm sure you deserved the compliment from the jogger!

Great outfit, I have two of those tops and find them very useful for this time of year. Going to have to get dressed tomorrow !

  • CarolS replied 3 years ago

Completely compliment-worthy! I adore the patterned scarf and striped tee combo.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

I hope the move goes smoothly. Love your outfit, especially the scarf with that shirt. My “scarves” lately have been cotton washable bandana masks that can be pulled up when needed. And tossed in the wash and dryer. I wish I had more variety. Are you moving from Vancouver to Victoria?

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

Joy, yes, we are moving from Vancouver to Victoria. And we can't get any further west! :)

Thanks for the nice words, all. I hope I get a full length mirror soon so I can take some outfit pics.

The runner's comment was a sign that you need to dress every day - and find a way to photograph :) !

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

Your bright colors inspired me today! Thank you. Can't wait until you get a full length mirror!
