Knotted top w. flared skirt

Here's my version of today's outfit! I took a very old boat neck J. Crew linen tee and knotted it at the waist. Pulled on my skirt. C'est tout!

Easy outfit formula. We're going for Japanese food with friends this evening so it should work.

These J. Crew tees date from my first year on YLF. They are a fluid fit, not as current now as back then, but cool, and knotting them brings them into "current" territory.

I've always loved that skirt of yours. Looks perfect with the T and new sandals.

I love the outfit but to be honest would prefer to see silver sandals, I think.

Thanks, Jules. I could switch them up. Was trying on a bunch of other stuff and happened to have them on.

Knotting the fluid tees is a pretty easy trick.

Ooh, love this. I've knotted skirts but never tops. I'm going to have to try this with some of my orphan skirts.

Lovely skirt and what a great idea to knot your T-shirt.

Ooh, nice.  I am also reviving an old linen tee today (mine is from Ann Taylor I think) by knotting it.  Mine is a little bit stretched out from age but the knot really gives it back some shape and makes it look more current.

I was very tempted to go try on those liberty midi skirts at J Crew, but I'm really not supposed to be buying any more skirts since i have so many already!

    KILLER

How fun that you tried this after the post today. Thank you!

LOVE how you wear dangly earrings. They glam things up so nicely.

A knotted shirt/ fluid top with a flared skirt is my all-time favorite look. Ladylike without being twee. Parfait!! Winner all the way!!

    Beautiful!

Gorgeous! Now this is your sort of skirt. Truly fab.

What a great skirt! I used to knot tops, but they'd get stretched out from doing it. Then there were the little belt buckle like things to pull the shirt through. Wonder if they bring those back?

My favorite part is the shoes with the skirt. I like the similar colors but different graphic.

What a great idea!  I may try that with one of my tees.  Your outfit looks gorgeous.

Pretty! I love the deep blue of that skirt.

This works beautifully on you! The top is one of those deceptively simple, but actually just right, essential pieces.

Beautiful earrings Suz. I only own 2 T-shirts now, one is a bit long so maybe next summer I could try it.

Great idea to knot the tee, works so nicely with the skirt.
