Oops! Guess who went on her annual spring fling?

It's that time of year again, partners in crime (I mean style). Oops!

Let it be duly noted for the court, I am a proponent of the Big Seasonal Shop.

In my defence, Your Honour, I did not shop at all (apart from long underwear) between mid-November and mid-March.

I took advice from many of you. I've ordered up a veritable storm, and I don't think I'm completely done yet, either!

(The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. So help me, fashion goddesses.)

I have my eye on a few Inge-picked items at Loft and Ann Taylor (where I have a gift card) but I need to be able to go there in person to use it due to regulations. (GRRRR, Oh BorderFree, why do I detest thee?)

Here are a few lovelies that are on their way for me to try. I am still on the hunt for the right vest (one that works for my climate and casual but crisp style), as well as for colourful shoes or sandals that are a bit more practical than the Emmas (or for white sandals). Suggestions gladly taken! (But I may get the Emmas, regardless.)

Wish me luck. And repeat after me. I will not keep all of this. I will not keep all of this. I will not keep all of this.

BTW, just so you know...I have edited the spring closet so on the one-in-one-out principle I have room for at least 6 new items. I can justify a few more if they are likely-to-last a few years statements, and am justifying the tee purchases as replacements and needed for summer travel.

If I had seen these picks without knowing whose they were, I would know they were you, Suz - and yet they are something fresh and new too.  You are one of those people who sprints at the end of a race, aren't you? :)

  • Elizabeth P replied 8 years ago

    Let the games begin!

But please let's not have another competition.... :).

These look like great choices Suz, I can't wait to see them as they start to arrive.

  • milehighstyle (Linda) replied 8 years ago

Ooh, I was hoping you would try the striped coulottes. I can't wait to see them on. That Cypress blouse from Aritza is really cool too. Four months of no shopping is nothing to sneeze at.

  • Karie replied 8 years ago

What a great selection! I love the culottes and the bloom print trousers, and everything else too. I hope the Gap Resolution Skimmers work out for you - I love mine so much I duplicated them in red.

    Only six items...only six items...maybe a few more...maybe a few more...maybe 10 more...maybe 10 more...

  • Staysfit replied 8 years ago

I have some favorites here that I can really picture you wearing. Looking forward to seeing which you end up with. I particularly love that Aritzia top and may have play lemming and spring for it myself. That one is irresistible!

  • rachylou replied 8 years ago

I'm so impressed you can be so decisive at this time of year, Suz. I'm sitting here in a fog, hemming and hawing, waiting for an idea. I just don't know what I want for summer.

  • Sveta replied 8 years ago

He-he, this is what happens when you are fasting all winter! :-)
Love your picks! No Azalea Emmas here?
Zara culottes are tempting me too. BR culottes did not work for me so I am still on the lookout for another pair.
Keep us posting how all this stuff works for you!

  • Suz replied 8 years ago

Una, what a nice thing to say. I don't know about sprint. Don't forget the butt-vest. ;)

Staysfit, I'm hoping that top's print doesn't overwhelm me. It is beautiful to look at, anyway! It would look gorgeous on you.

Karie, you modelling those skimmers made them a necessity to me! ;)

Linda, thank you! I will show the culottes when they arrive. I will probably keep one pair (either the Zara or the Topshop.) So it will be a culotte competition.

Elizabeth, I was hoping you would join me again! You, me, and Tanya -- neck in neck until the beginning of the dog days! I can't even remember who won in the end....

We all won. We got some great new things! :)

  • Sara L. replied 8 years ago

Ooh, I love both those pairs of silver sandals and the blue Aritzia top.  I didn't do a big shop this spring, but I picked up enough things here and there that I've put myself on a shopping moratorium until the end of the month.

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

You know I don't think you will keep it all - only because you will only keep the ones that really work well on you and with your closet. You are style evolved! That said, all of these *could* work. I am rooting for the Zara culottes and the Topshop floral cigarette trousers!

  • Caro in Oz replied 8 years ago

Ohh lovely!! Hope they all work, especially the Zara cullottes & the linen tank & tee :) :)

  • Eliza replied 8 years ago

Love these. They are fresh and refined and you.

Full disclosure: I could shop your selections joyfully. The Aritzia top and the CM top beckon, as do the Eccos.

Hope they work out for you!

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

The Aritzia top reminds me of last year's great Ted Baker tee. You have many great picks here. I can't wait to see what you keep.

  • Dee replied 8 years ago

I love the selection of prints and statements but there's just enough of your usual style in this collection that I can see it working really well for you. I'm especially interested to see your thoughts about the culottes.

  • Sal replied 8 years ago

There are some lovely pieces here.  I love the Hudson Bay Dress, the culottes and the J Crew foil print tee in particular.  Happy trying on :)

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 8 years ago

The jury finds the defendant guilty as charged.
You are sentenced to show us everything in the try-on phase.

Great-looking picks, Suz! I hope you find your vest, too.

  • Jude replied 8 years ago

High five Suz! Beautiful choices, in fact I have the Breeze sandals and the JCrew Tropical Frond T (among other things, heh heh) waiting in my mailbox to be picked up on the way to the Seattle meet up.

  • Style Fan replied 8 years ago

Great choices.  I look forward to seeing you model them.  I do like the Ecco sandals.  I hope they work out for you.

  • Elizabeth P replied 8 years ago

Truth be told Suz, I've already done significant damage this spring. Yes, even after last years extravaganza. I don't want to put pressure on you, but six items just won't cut it :).

  • replied 8 years ago

Suz -- I am incredibly excited for you.  I'll have to come back later to comment though.

  • Inge replied 8 years ago

    This makes me smile :-))
You've ordered some fabulous stuff, Suz, and I am holding thumbs that at least half of these are so amazing that you'll *have* to keep them;-)
(and I hear you about Ann Taylor, Loft and Borderfree, sigh).

  • lyn67 replied 8 years ago

Wow, great haul, really love those, all...of course..."will not keep all of this":-)...but hope the big bloom cigarette  trousers and the Aritzia blouse will stay...and the sandals, too- can't wait to see!

  • kkards replied 8 years ago

wow- great choices and i'm so impressed with your discipline. i'm drooling over those fab topshop crops and that aritizia top is arty and yet looks totally wearable. can't wait to see what ultimately makes the cut.

  • Ledonna N. replied 8 years ago

Can't wait for you to style these.

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Suz, I love everything her but especially yet bloom print pants and the Wilfred blouse. I really hope both if those are winners for you :)

  • Tanya replied 8 years ago

Beautiful choices Suz, I especially like that gorgeous Aritzia top.  Can't wait to see what you end up keeping.

I will not be joining you ( and Elizabeth) in the shopping extravaganza this year.  I got a couple of spring refreshers in April, all haeavily discoutned, and that will most likely be everything for me this season as I am on a incredibly tight budget.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 8 years ago

That Aritzia print top looks very promising, and I hope you go for the bright pink shoes.

  • Daria replied 8 years ago

Can't wait to see them on you - especially the blue tops (JCrew and Aritzia) and (of course!) culottes! :)

  • donnat replied 8 years ago

Some beautiful items here. Looking forward to seeing them on you.

  • replied 8 years ago

Lots of intereting pieces here - and I too look forward to seeing and reading about what works and what didn't. I have the Aritizia blouse in a different colour way , was really torn between the short sleeved blouse version shown here and the tunic/dress version. Wanted both because of the print :)

  • Thistle replied 8 years ago

Fabulous choices!  I can't wait to hear how they worked!

Good time to buy, too, before everything is sold out :)

  • jackiec replied 8 years ago

I hope some of these work out for you! I'm eyeing that BR linen tank and hope to try it on in store.

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

AT LAST. I have been waiting for your flirty fling, Suz. Lots of fun stuff. As Elizabeth said - let the games begin. All in good fun. WOOHOOOO.

Huge seasonal shops can be fab, can't they? This is the ONLY way some of my clients shop.

  • texstyle replied 8 years ago

Great haul! You have some really nice pieces here to try and I understand the "need" to shop in bulk at certain times - I notice if I don't jump on things a lot of time my size is gone. The culottes are esp. fun for you I'm thinking and I can't wait to see if they work. And I love that white linen  sleeveless top (wondering if it will require a cami under it?).

I have that jc metallic tee on order too (after deciding I just needed another graphic tee, you know, while they are on trend and all)  and am wearing the Ecco sandals in the taupe color right now --  I really like the comfort -- so I hope they work well for you in the metallic. They are just slightly more delicate than some of my other sandals, so I'm not sure if they will hold up to country living for more than one season, but I think I'm keeping them.

  • shedev replied 8 years ago

    Great picks Suz.

  • Lyn D. replied 8 years ago

    A feast for the eyes!
    Thanks for sharing :)

  • Momo replied 8 years ago

Love these pics .. They will look great on you I am sure!

  • deb replied 8 years ago

Great choices. I might have to try those Zara culottes.

  • Marley replied 8 years ago

Woo-hoo!  Can't wait to see you model all of these fun looking items!

  • Ariadne replied 8 years ago

Whee, fun fun fun!  Can't wait to see these on you.  I love everything.  And I still think you really, really need the pink Emmas.

  • Sharon replied 8 years ago

Ooh, can't wait to see the try-ons. LOVE the Aritzia T-shirt. I bet that will be stunning on you!
