Patterned summer brights

I'll try to get an actual outfit photo a little later if the sun comes round the corner, but for now, I thought it would be fun to show my versions of the look.

1. Patterned dress.
2. "Jacket" -- a new kimono. It looks darker in the photo -- it's actually a near-royal blue with pattern of white, grey, pink etc.
3. Skirt. It also serves as "dress" with the matching top.

I don't have a patterned bright suit for summer unless you count the 2 piece dress. :) But I do have several other items in bright patterns. A pattern in summer can keep the interest level up when you are confined to one piece or two piece dressing, unable to layer due to heat.

    Good stuff!

It’s interesting. I wear bold colours a lot… but it’s all in my bakery wear. I’m noticing that my dressier things are all much more muted.

FABULOUS, Suz! You rock all of these with your signature blue :)

    Great new cobalt kimono!

Totally agree about how bold patterned items - and brights for me too - can keep up the interest in Summer when it's too hot to layer.

I have LOTS of Summer patterned brights - and the same dress! I've included some Spring items because we're having the coldest weather on record for this time of year:

Your patterns make me happy. How did I miss the skirt which is so fab it's mentioned in 35 conversations? I love it! Bright patterns with dark backgrounds really appeal to me lately. Great pieces here.
And Angie's bright shirts catch my eye too, so festive and yet carefree. My own summer patterns are muted but I enjoy the brights so much on y'all.

    Love all these prints!

    Nice! They suit you well!

My collection is not large — I tend to favor more muted prints, but I have a few.

All beautiful items! I especially love the LE sweater, if I’m not mistaken that was your moms? Hope the sun comes out for you!

Wishing you better weather. Lots of wonderful prints -and I am obsessed with the dress.

That's a fabulous collection of summer bright patterns, Suz. I've added three or four bright patterned tops for this summer (unsure of the count because one could still be returned... :-D) But I'm wearing one now, and it cheers up even my very basic jeans.

In addition to having a high happiness factor, I find they are also very forgiving -- I can wear them out to lunch or to the garden centre and any little spills or smudges are blissfully hidden.

Oh, man! I had that Free People dress and loved it, but alas it went on a weekend trip with me last summer and didn't make it home. *sob*

But Janet, you and I are Ripskirt twins (although mine is shorter)!

Gorgeous bright summer patterns! I hope you get the sun Suz to wear them soon. They look so right in the clear light don’t they.

Mine are all dresses and skirts - these feel very natural to wear for me.

Suz, beautiful patterns and so you!  Can't wait to see the outfit.

Angie, you are Queen Bright Summer Pattern!

It is fun seeing everyone's pieces.  I have attached mine.  For someone with very large wardrobe who enjoys a number of bright colors, I have surprisingly few, as I mentioned on the blog.  While I have a bunch of patterned items, most are neutral, or involve color that I wouldn't call bright.  I have expanded my original classification to include items with only one bright color in the pattern.

I love your patterned summer bright collection.I  usually wear neutrals and sometime add a colorful top or jacket but I've purchased two bright patterned dresses in the past two years. The sunflower dress was offered by Gudrun Sodjen with the purchase price donated to groups helping Ukrainian women and children who have left their country adjust to their new lives. I added the patchwork dress last summer. I actually wear and like both dresses which I didn't expect because they are so different from what I normally wear.

I love everyone’s bright prints. Mine are mostly peasant blouses not brought traveling. They can wrinkle but I love wearing them.

Suz, I love your summer brights. I love colour for summer too, and as apparent from my finds, will most often be found in a dress, my 'one and done' easy summer solution. I have a lot of dresses because my plus 20C temperatures last 6 months of the year from November to May.

Agree completely that patterns are the spice of summer and these pieces look fab!

    Oh, so many wonderful pieces!
Summer makes even me wear bright and patterned clothes. Only two in my wardrobe but still :)
