Today's version features the Okalas...for the photo. I admit I'm barefoot around the house. But we do have lunch company today, so....

Love this Suz! Comfortable for around the house, and brought up a notch with the Okalas for your lunch guests. Classic summer dressing. Those shorts are fantastic.

I can't tell from the photo if those shorts are denim, Suz, but my white denim knee-length shorts are my absolute favorite summer staple.

You look crisp and summery!  Very Angie, actually, even if we rarely see Angie in shorts.

Awesome outfit Suz!  The Okalas take it to the next level.

    Pretty, Suz!

    Thank you!

April, these shorts actually are not denim. They are "jean" style but made from some species of polyester that is truly brilliant. They dry fast, don't get hot, and seem to dirty less quickly than denim. I debated about buying them for some reason...I can't for the life of me remember what it was...but ended up being incredibly happy with the purchase. Good thing....Mexx soon disappeared from my town, never to be seen here again.

You and Tanya make we want white shorts! But good fitting white jeans are such a rare species! I am treasuring my full length ones and don't want to ever chop them o_O

You look fantastic hostess Suz. Love the summery shirt with the shorts.

I love you in that shade of blue Suz and the full tuck with that gorgeous belt and Okalas is just brilliant. Whenever I see you or Angie in a fabulous button up shirt, it makes me wish they worked on me :(

These white shorts are  so fab, and I really want a pair, too!(will probably chop off one older straight legs, asap). Love you  upgraded them with the Okalas, the cognac belt and that fab button down!!!! Best of some french style!:-)

You look fabulous! Love the white shorts with the relaxed shirt and the Okalas.

I was already looking for white shorts--now I must have them.  You look great and I love the Okalas with the shorts.  Brilliant!

  • Mona replied 10 years ago

You look all ready to welcome the guests. wonderfully summery! The okalas look great with almost everything.

Lovely outfit Suz. There is a Mexx and a Mexx outlet near me :) Feel free to mosey on up for a visit.

Nice!  I'm chuckling because we are twins today.  I'm wearing a really similar outfit today!  Just took a pic, and now I'm inspired to do a WIW!  Obviously I love this color scheme of blue, white and brown!

A grown-up an polished version of a summer at-home staple:  shorts and a top.  The top is deliciously light and a lovely color.  I think I'd go to the grocery or pharmacy just to find a reason to wear the Okalas.

  • Windchime replied 10 years ago

That shirt is a wonderful color on you, Suz, and it's nice to see your outfit accessorized with touches of brown, as in Angie's recent blog post. I like this so much that I jotted it down to try similar with my white denim shorts.

    Very sharp! Great shorts. :)

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

Those sound like some miracle shorts! :)

Love them SE's ... they're definitely coming up on my "to buy" list.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Beautiful blue top, great shorts and the shoe that makes everything better! Nowhere better to shop than your closet with items like that.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous. I LOVE you in white and blue, Suz. And I see cognac Autumn accessories in your future.

A swift little switcheroo with the shoes - brilliant. xo

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

Another outfit that you look positively gorgeous wearing! I just love those Ocala's on you. How have the Ocala's held up? I bought a pair of pretty SE silver cap-toed flats at the Rack when we were in Boston, and they started falling apart after only two months of wear - and I didn't even wear them for almost all of May after my foot surgery! I can't return them because I don't live near a Rack. This makes me very gun-shy about buying any more SE shoes!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Karie, to be honest, the Okalas have not had much wear yet for me...Angie would be a better judge, or even Shevia. Or Adelfa. I only started wearing mine a few weeks ago. So while I have worn them a bunch of times already, they haven't seen hard walking wear. They look terrific so far. My other SE shoes have also worn extremely well -- I have the Petty booties and the Sutton sandal. I do find that the sizing can be a bit inconsistent in this brand. In some styles I am a 6.5 and in other styles a 7. But other than that, I've had no problems.

Bermuda shorts and a button-down shirt –this goes right to my tomboy heart... love it! A bit of change from the fluid fit is refreshing, me thinks.

  • replied 10 years ago

Ooh, lovely! I love the strictness of the button down with the casual shorts and then the dressy fun Okalas. Lovely bookending with glasses belt and shoes too. How fab to just pull this out of your closet.

  • Inge replied 10 years ago

I do so love light blue paired with white for Summer, and that shade of blue is gorgeous on you, Suz. Adore this outfit, the animal print pumps add great pizzazz, and I agree with Angie about the cognac accents (I'm planning to experiment with those myself;-)

  • bella replied 10 years ago

    What a chic button down!

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

Nice look Suz, The okalas really elevate the outfit.
