Some recent returns (and some gear keeps)

I've been quietly ordering a few items. My 12 year old bathing suit gave up the ghost so I ordered some sale pieces from Athleta -- am keeping these. Also got some tights and a few tanks in navies. It feels good to have workout gear in my main neutral instead of the ubiquitous black.

At the same time, I ordered the space age silver jacket that I'd been coveting for a while, on super sale. However, I'm sending it back. The fabric feels too crinkly and I don't think it will be warm enough for me. Nice style, though, if you are looking for a very casual non-down lightweight puffer.

I also ordered this fab oversized cotton sweater from Gap. I really love the loose cut and the slouchy look of it -- also the cotton knit. Alas. the off white is too cream for me and the stripes too bold -- it wears me, rather than me wearing it, so I am sending it back with some regret.

I share in case anyone else is considering either of those items.

Onwards!

Aww that's a shame about the puffer - I could see it being layered underneath another for warmth (& a pop of metallic) but what do I know, now that I live in a subtropical climate & own things like velvet t-shirts? LOL :P

Glad you found workout & swimming gear that works though - it's a little thing but I find it makes me feel happy to go exercise when I'm a little more coordinated too.

Are the first and third photos of tankini options?  If so I am Interested. I like how the blue color looks youthful compared to all black.

Rotten luck about the puffer, but I'm sure something even better will turn up soon.

It's great the navy gear and blue swimwear worked out. I find it very hard to break away from black in those areas.

And thanks for the sweater review. I love the look of it!

You are good to be so self disciplined with sending things back that are not quite right for your needs. Your wardrobe must be very streamlined and beautiful.

Oh, really nice beach and workout collection, well done!

Love the idea of a collection of swimwear to put together as the mood strikes you. Nice execution too.

I respect your discipline, it's inspirational.

Like your gear tops, and I can see the appeal of that puffer!

I think I tried that puffer last year (or before??) and the cut is totally wrong for me, but yeah, it’s really cute! Congrats on new swimwear — a task I always dread!

The silver space age jacket looks great, too bad it didn’t work out. Always a bit surprising when something you’ve coveted has some hidden elements that you just can’t overcome. And yes, you can’t have a sweater that just overwhelms your whole look.

Nice swim outfits! Such a relief to have a good swimsuit. Too bad about the silver jacket, that color would be great on you. Love the striped sweater, may need to check it out.

I've been eyeing that silver jacket since forever .  I absolutely don't need it but I want it!  Too bad about the striped sweater - that's a great looking piece.

The silver jacket could have been perfect for you. I know you're always about stripes, but I've been leaning into them lately. Too bad the sweater didn't work -- it looks very Toteme. (Alex Mill and Rails are doing nice work there.)

That sweater looks awesome ... so hard to find good cotton knitwear so thanks for the tip! Shame about the items that didn't work BUT well done on knowing what works for you.

Awesome swimwear - I got an Athleta tankini this year and it's great - really good quality and has held up really well to daily swimming all summer, which often bathing suits do not!

Onto the next awesome silver puffer!

How fab to have swimwear sorted far, far ahead of time! Great colours on you :)

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Joy, in answer to your question, yes, those are tankinis. They have different bottom options, too, but I stuck with what was available at the time of the sale. I don't really like tankinis for actual swimming but the high neck one will in fact work for that, I think. I also got a one piece suit from Speedo in navy which is less exciting and not yet in Finds.

The sweater is really great quality for GAP. I might look at some of the other colours, though it was the striped option that drew me.

Yay! I have like 5 of those Momentum tanks- they wear like iron!

  • Minaminu replied 1 year ago

very nice additions and sorry to hear about the silver jacket - it looks fab!

Like Zaeobi, I find it a bit easier to exercise if I am wearing an outfit that is colour coordinated.

Great swimwear!  And thank you so much for your helpful reviews of the GAP sweater and silver jacket.  I love the idea of a silver jacket but clearly this isn't the one.  I'm going to try the sweater, although probably in a solid.

Whoa! How much do I love the bath suits!!

  • Jaime replied 1 year ago

There must be a silver puffer out there waiting for you to find it! All in all, it is lucky the swimwear worked out, that is the least fun to find (for me).

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 1 year ago

It’s not a puffer, but I found your new gear for evening walks ;)

I could wear them to a party later, too, StagFash! Sparkly!
