Spring flowers to welcome Angie home

At the sight of all the lovely Dutch brights from your trip I couldn't resist showing you what I'm wearing today. My mum's tulip twinset with burgundy and bright red.

In reality I had to switch footwear because it started to pour. But rain also grows spring flowers, right?

KILLER GORGEOUS in every way. Sentimental, stylish and thoughtful. Thank you, sweet Susan. Much love to you.

Great look!  I love the floral twinset with the red scarf and boots.  The pattern is spring-ish while the boots and scarf will keep you warm.

You look lovely in the twinset and the red touches. I understand why you have mentioned red as a favourite colour. It suits you so well.

  • Sal replied 6 years ago

I love this Suz, the red floral looks modern and happy on you!!  Love the boots with the twinset.

What a beautiful twinset! How nice that it was your mother's. It looks fab with the booties.

No matter what you wear, you always nail it.  You never stop to wow me, I wish I could be a tenth of the stylish woman you are.

YAY SUZ.  You look fabulous and happy.

  • Barbara Diane replied 6 years ago

That might be the best floral twinset I have ever seen. And I love the way you styled it.

What a gorgeous welcome home outfit, Suz.  You look stunning.

Super pretty!  And it was your mom's?  What brand is it?

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

LisaP, it was indeed my mother's -- purchased for her, by me (I bought all her clothing in the last decade or so of her life) from, wait for it, Land's End. I loved it for her and it looked amazing on her with her bright white hair. It was the one article of clothing of hers I kept. It was still pristine and reminded me of her in happier times, and so....

It is POURING here. Unbelievable. Good thing I did not wear those suede booties outside!

A beautiful, happy outfit. That's a very pretty twinset.

  • Jaime replied 6 years ago

Gorgeous! The scarf is particularly great on you.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Beautiful! My favorite French gift shop has a lovely "French tulip" scented candle that I think I need.
ETA: tulip photos from Denver Botanic Gardens last week. I wonder if they survived several inches of heavy snow.

  • Mochi replied 6 years ago

It's really lovely, fun, and so you.

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

    Joy, those poor tulips!

But they're a remarkably hardy flower. Otherwise we could never grow them in our nation's capital.

Thanks for the nice words, all. It was fun to wear, if only for 10 minutes with the booties. :)

  • cindysmith replied 6 years ago

Ooh, I like it a lot

  • Karin L H replied 6 years ago

Gorgeous look! Love the scarf, the floral print and the boots, such a great combination.

  • Gigi replied 6 years ago

What a beatiful color that is on you, Suz! I love the matching scarf and footwear. Too bad you had to change up the boots due to the weather. (It was actually snowing here today, boo.)

  • Elizabeth P replied 6 years ago

Lovely outfit, Suz. A nice way to remember your mother.

Pouring here too. Sigh. It reached a whopping springtime high of 6 today. Enough!

And it appears the dozens of tulips I planted last fall in our newly renovated backyard are going to be nothing more than deer snacks. Double sigh.

  • Mirjana replied 6 years ago

How beautiful twinset, you look beautiful and fresh in that floral twinset. Fab with booties.

  • Style Fan replied 6 years ago

Gorgeous twinset Suz.  You look lovely.  Those booties are TDF.
Yes it poured rain here too.  I was wearing my winter boots and down coat yesterday.  :(

  • lpr200 replied 6 years ago

What a great outfit-- I'm really admiring how you wear the boots!

  • JAileen replied 6 years ago

Gorgeous! That would have been too warm here..

  • Laurie replied 6 years ago

Suz, you look amazing.  Always, but especially today.

  • Janet replied 6 years ago

You look great, and that twinset is fab on you! I love the print. What a thoughtful tribute to Angie too!

  • Joyce B replied 6 years ago

You look fab, what a great outfit on you!
It's even more special because the twin set is your Mom's.
Isn't it a pain that when we want to wear our suede shoes it rains?

  • texstyle replied 6 years ago

Such a lovely outfit on you suz - I though I had commented so excuse me if I repeat, but I didn't want to miss the chance to say how great these colors are on you.

  • Chris987 replied 6 years ago

What a lovely outfit! I think we've seen this twinset before and it is always lovely. Red and burgundy is a bit unexpected but works really well on you. Too bad Lands End doesn't come upwith lovely prints like this more often...IMHO hey are  not usually this pretty.

Suz you are right that tulips are pretty hardy plants, in fact they have to live through the deep freeze of winter in order to bloom. I didn't really this until a HS friend who moved to a warmer climate was complaining about how she really missed them since they will not grow where she lives now.

In honor of tulips and Angie's return, a few photos of ones growing in my gardens. Some are very early ones and are starting to droop but the colors still look good.

  • Helena replied 6 years ago

So pretty Suz ... Terrific boots!

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Chris, those are gorgeous!! You must have extensive and beautiful gardens.

Thank you for all the kind words, everyone.

  • Dana replied 6 years ago

Oh, I love the twin set. What a beautiful print!

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 6 years ago

A fabulous spring look, you look great!

  • Eliza replied 6 years ago

Suz- you look like spring yourself. What a beautiful tribute to two special ladies, your mother and Angie.
Love the concept of working spring in even when we still need booties.
