WIW and somehow managed to photograph!!

The good news. DD remembered to bring the camera home this weekend. YAY.

The bad news...she has lost a part to the tripod. So I had to improvise with the camera and in our small house it is virtually impossible to find a place to set the thing where it will take an actual photo of my whole self. :(

However, I managed to get an almost full shot and since I haven't really been able to post photos since December, that's cause for celebration. (For me, anyway. Probably not for you!)

Anyway. A glimpse of the new hairdo with an actual outfit.

Just gorgeous! Love the dangly earrings with the new hair!

  • RobinF replied 7 years ago

Gosh, I just love that top! The whole outfit is gorgeous!

  • AviaMariah replied 7 years ago

You look perfectly breezy and cool.  I love the top. Aren't those earrings from One Little Momma website?  I was looking at her bracelets yesterday. In fact I think I went down that rabbit hole when someone posted a link to her site in one of your other posts!  I seriously need to be working more.

  • marianna replied 7 years ago

Beautiful! You look sharp and so stylish! Love that blouse on you.

  • JAileen replied 7 years ago

Gorgeous top! The whole outfit is really nice. The earrings are nice touch, too.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 7 years ago

Super fab outfit, and you look fantastic! I love those big earrings and the abstract-print top. Those colors are gorgeous, and the fabric looks so soft and luxurious.

  • Helena replied 7 years ago

    Looks great! Love the earrings.

  • texstyle replied 7 years ago

Fantastic Suz! I have to admit, being a long haired girl, I was a little less certain about your haircut -- but it looks SO great and especially great your favorite blue hues (mine too) I have a feeling most of your favorite colors are going to be fab with your natural color. Yay!!!

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

    Killer

The colour of your hair could not be more perfect. Truly. You were meant to be grey! LOVE the earrings with the super short 'do.

Wonderful to see you post again, Suz. Missed our Queen Radiant Health.

  • Aida replied 7 years ago

Woohooo! I adore those giant earrings with this whole look. Go big or go home, amirite!? :D

(PS I am very fond of the brown brows with the gray hair. Is that natural too?)

  • Runcarla replied 7 years ago

    YLF!

  • Bonnie replied 7 years ago

    Adorable!!

This is great!  I was all "wear more black, go dramatic" earlier - but now I see you in your favourite blues again ,and in a chic and easy outfit, and see how perfect it is.

I had those earrings on the other night at a bookclub meeting, and was so self-conscious about them , I took them off halfway through. Last year I loved them, this year? I can't make it work.  Odd eh?

  • Lyn D. replied 7 years ago

    The blue bag is TDF!

  • Suz replied 7 years ago

Lyn, the bag was a great buy a few years ago at the Bay -- it's Ralph Lauren and was on super sale and has really stood the test of time. This is the fourth summer I've been using it and it looks like new.

Lisa, I know what you mean about the earrings being a bit attention-grabbing. I love how lightweight they are and I like them more with my current hair. I am wondering about the smaller size, though. AviaMariah, you're right -- they are Nickel and Suede. I really like her stuff.

I feel as if this outfit does have a bit more drama than the other one...the abstract top, the earrings. Probably the balance that the new hair requires. Black works, too, though. I wore it yesterday!

Aida, yeah, the brows are natural with a bit of taupe pencil added. My brows are very sparse but not at all grey. Go figure.

Angie, what a sweet thing to say! I think the colour will only get better with time; there's still a bit of blonde up top (highlights) and as that gets cut out there will be even more depth and variation. Do you remember mentioning that my hair had charcoal elements? Even dyed, that came through. Now it is much more obvious and shows why charcoal is one of my best neutrals.

Texstyle, thank you so much. If a long haired woman can like it, it's got to be good! I agree that most of my old colours are going to work really well, and some new ones, too. I've been experimenting a bit.

Shedev, Rachy, Robin, Marianna, Carter, JAileen, TG, Sharan, Carla, Bonnie --  thank you!

  • kellygirl replied 7 years ago

Wow, do you wear a pixie well or what? So beautiful, Suz! You look terrific in the white and blue.

  • Brooklyn replied 7 years ago

You look really beautiful. Those are perfect colours with your perfect hair.

  • Sheila replied 7 years ago

OMG Suz... YOU are so cool ! Love your hair and the outfit !

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

Chiming in again to crown you Queen Silvery Blue.

Suz, YES. I remember saying that your hair had charcoal elements. The blues, pinks, greys, whites and cranberries that you usually wear are going to look EVEN better with the new silver crop.

  • Vildy replied 7 years ago

ohhh, the earrings!  Now everything looks so intentional. I know you've been questioning your style some  - I read that whole long thread about arty architectural - but you look like a woman without any doubts. :D
Just beautiful from top to toe.

ETA: aren't the earrings actually a very wearable arty architectural?

  • Janet replied 7 years ago

I love that top and am coming to steal it from you. ;-) Seriously, I think this outfit really sums up your style so well. Distinctive but still with enough classic to ground it.

  • Suz replied 7 years ago

Vildy, YES. Absolutely. These are wearable arty architectural. You get it. It's a real balancing act for me -- it has to be wearable in my real life.

I'm thinking that the right accessories might be crucial to this new adventure.

Angie, thank you so much for your unremitting support and kindness. Also, yes -- all those colours and more. Many women discover that more vivid true colours look great with grey -- to be honest, I feel as if it is opening up a whole new vista for me!! It's fun. There are a few things I will (sadly) let go on our style exchange...but for the most part, what I already own will work.

Sheila, Brooklyn, Kelly -- thank you so much!!

  • Suz replied 7 years ago

Janet, that's exactly right. I love how you put that and may have to engrave that sentence on my arm when I go shopping. Thank you!

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

My pleasure, Suz. And this is the second time on YLF that your new hair has led the way to another BIG, FUN and FAB style adventure. You're going to become Queen Fire Engine Red before long too.

  • Marilyn replied 7 years ago

  • cobaltblue replied 7 years ago

Beautiful, Suz! These blues are divine on you.

  • Elizabeth P replied 7 years ago

This may sound strange, but I like your hair even better now that I can see it with an outfit. It's like I see it as a piece of the bigger picture, and it completes the picture perfectly. I am SO glad you did this.

  • kerlyn replied 7 years ago

I love this look SO much, and your hair is just wonderful with it!  You are glowing!

  • Maneera replied 7 years ago

I really love this outfit. It's soooo YOU, and it makes your silver pixie look soooo good! Love that tee...it's like wearing art! The blues are lovely with the white & silver and the earrings totally add a 'pretty' element. You're looking beyond FAB, Suz. So glad you have your camera back!

  • Inge replied 7 years ago

Absolute perfection, Suz, from the earrings all the way down to the sandal booties!!

And, about your "signature colours" - I forgot to mention this on your Arty Architectural thread, and just saw that Angie beat me to it: I couldn't agree more:
    "The
blues, pinks, greys, whites and cranberries that you usually wear are
going to look EVEN better with the new silver crop."

  • Momo replied 7 years ago

Looks great and love the hair!

  • skylurker replied 7 years ago

That black-blue-white palette looks great with your hair. I really loved the colour of the red dress with it too.

  • Thirkellgirl replied 7 years ago

Everybody else already said it, but I just want to say that blues and whites are definitely fantastic on you! The earrings are great, too. You look wonderful.

  • Beth Ann replied 7 years ago

Love the top! It has structure along with drape -- a fab combination, and the abstract print is both bold and serene.  This is a great way to feel sophisticated while keeping things casual.

  • Thirkellgirl replied 7 years ago

Beth Ann said what I meant to! lol That's exactly why it works, along with the colors.

  • Eliza replied 7 years ago

I love that top and have coveted it since you first posted it. Just gorgeous. The outfit is killer Suz style amped up with the new do. The shoes and bag are awesome with it. Well done. (and may the tripod part surface).

  • replied 7 years ago

    Absolutely luscious.

  • Chris987 replied 7 years ago

    Stunning, and gorgeous.

I'm going to have to race Janet to come steal that top! (Just checked online and it's sold out). Can I play shop YOUR closet? :-)

  • rachylou replied 7 years ago

Oh wait...can I say hoochie hoops, or is that too much of a stretch? Lol! But I'm telling you, I think this counts as more proof of my theory...lol!

  • tulle replied 7 years ago

Gorgeous.  I always pay close attention to the tops you find--they are so often unique, made of natural fibers, and Summer-perfect, like this one.  No need to worry about the "arty-architectural" thing;  you've got it covered.

  • Mochi replied 7 years ago

Excellent outfit and yes, blue is your color.
