WIW: Channelling Shannon & Ariadne - Angie pick!

Despite the fact that it has started to rain, I decided to keep Shannon company in my boot cuts today. Sometimes a girl just has to wear a different silhouette!

On top I'm wearing my Angie pick BR sweater. Love this sweater so much! I saw it on Ariadne in just this combination, with the lovely BR scarf, and snagged both as soon as I was able!

I've also bought the sweater in Dragon Fruit (with a taupe stripe) but sadly, it is going back. The pink is just a touch too warm for my complexion. I'm considering one of the other colours, though -- maybe the ivory with the faint grey stripe. It is *that* comfy.

Pic #2 is there for fun - my daughter called it the nose-picking picture! And of course I just had to try it with my fuchsia jacket....

If my hubby were Shannon's hubby, I think he might have called this my sexy sailor look!

I am calling it my sexy Shannon/Ariadne look.

Thanks for the inspiration, ladies, and happy Thanksgiving to the US YLFers!

"Sexy Sailor" is right! You look fabulous in this combination. Love the stripes with the fuchsia jacket and the scarf is just divine. Aren't bootcuts a comfy alternative to skinnies once in a while?

I'm really thinking about this sweater for myself - did you get the petite version Suz? I've heard it's pretty long even in petite and may be too long for short me.

Love this, Suz. I am hemming and hawing on this sweater too. I am right between sizes on it though, do you find it fits small or normal for BR?

Very cute! That sweater does look cozy, and so fun with the pink blazer.

Looks fab Suz! Love pic 2 :-)
Is the BR sweater S or XS in the petite?

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

I bought a petite sweater. The length was better on me; I compared. I am 5'4". So for those who are super petite it might be too long...you can see where it comes on me. I am short waisted but have a regular torso length, overall, based on my measurements. OTOH, I don't have any bustline to accommodate, which I think can sometimes affect length a bit.

I am not sure what to say on sizes, Ceit. I usually wear BRs number sizes, not their S/M/L.Typically I'm a 0 or 2 petite in their stuff. In any case, I went with the S vs. the XS in this sweater. I didn't want it super tight and wanted to be able to layer over a shirt if desired.

Such a cute outfit! Perfect with pink too. This is a very wise buy, this sweater. It suits you well and I bet it will be very useful.

Suz, each outfit post gets better than the previous ones. Loving the stripes and boot cut with the pink jacket.

Suz, you look great - I think the bootcuts kind of add a fun "sailor" vibe to the outfit, in a good way. I wore my bootcuts on Wed for the first time in awhile, too - just needed to shake things up! That sweater looks terrific on you. I thought it looked horrid on me. I'm glad to see you other gals rockin' it.

I still love boot cuts! And they look really good with a fitted striped sweater and blazer.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Sarah, I wonder why it didn't suit you? I would have thought it could look good...but maybe the length was bad. It is rather long.

    Stripes, check.
    Scarf, check.
    Jacket in great color, check.
For everything else, tehere's fab fab fab.

I want to CCQ this outfit too! With bootcuts.

I really like the shoe colour with this outfit Suz, and the sweater is great on you.
Bootcuts allow a chunkier shoe to not look too chunky or obvious-perfect for this outfit combination I think.

I love the navy & pink on you. Great outfit.

*waving* at my sweater twin!! Isn't it soft and cozy?! This looks terrific on you, and I will have to remember to pair mine with a bright jacket and nude boots, just as you've done. Thank you for the inspiration!

Thanks for giving me some great ideas! I'm happy to see how nice this sweater looks, & with bootcuts, as I've ordered it in mustard & I like bootcuts. And I have a long torso & long arms, so I'm glad to hear it runs long.

Hi sweater twin! Love it with bootcuts--I will have to try that.

Ceit, I would say this sweater runs small. I often take an M at BR but I took a L in this.

I love this on you, Suz!

Suz you rock the bootcuts! I find this a really attractive alternative to skinny legs. This outfit creates a very balanced and long line. The pink jacket is like the icing on the cake! Sexy sailor indeed:)

That is a beautiful sweater, Suz. Love your bootcuts.
