So, I had to give a reading in the park on Canada Day. And I didn't have anything really red to wear! Pathetic or what? Clearly I need to rectify that situation. In the meantime, here is what I wore, and let's say it's in honour of American Independence since it fits into today's ensemble theme. ;)

I love it,Suz. The top reminds me of fireworks. Do you have fireworks for Canada Day? I love the backpack and small scarf with this outfit.

Great outfit :) I'm struggling for red for our Fourth of July holiday too.

Thank you -- and yes, Joy -- that is true about the top!! I hadn't thought of it.
We had AMAZING fireworks on July 1. With a gorgeous full moon. It was fun; my daughter and I went out on the rock pier and watched.

Such a cute outfit!
I discovered I was a 'summer' a few years ago (I think you might be too?) so there is no red in my wardrobe save a red hockey t-shirt. Phew for that t-shirt on Canada day.One thing that just occurred to me: what about some red shoes? You could pair them with white on top for Canada day.

Love this look. One of my favourites. I do love red but I think I like this as is.
The top is a little like fireworks, that is fun.

Super cute, Suz. The scarf absolutely makes this outfit. I don't own anything red either - I was a bad little Canadian :)

Thanks for honoring us down here Suz. Cute outfit and is that a white cuff? It really pops. We should swap countries since I have a closet full of red :)

This is terrific, Suz! Blue can stand for the wide and clear Canadian sky. The look is casual, but pulled together -- appropriate for the occasion.
Proud to share a continent with you!

Thanks for forgiving me my lapse of patriotism.
Smittie, I am a "summer" but cranberry red is one of my best colours; I just don't happen to have anything in that colour in my summer closet. I do have dark reds for winter. My wool coat is red and I love it!
It's a white cuff, yes! From Nickel and Suede -- Inge featured the blogger.

Love it! Everything looks so crisp and effortless, and the bit of pattern mixing between the top and scarf is really cool.
I don't have much red in my summer wardrobe, but I do have some. And lots of blue. If I'm trying to go for a patriotic theme, it's the white that I never have.

Really nice outfit Suz:) Suz do you wear red. If so what shade works for you? It's not a colour I think I have seen you in.

Great look, Suz. Blue loves you! I like the print of that top on you. Very festive! I don't have red in my summer wardrobe either. Not even my blue tone red or cranberry/wine.
