WIW: Hero and Purchases

Ok. I still don't have my new mirror, but I do have a new phone with a much better camera that makes better adjustments for the light. Yippee! More photo participation soon!

I have not bought much this year, but I did buy this linen shirt from M&S earlier in the spring and it's been a real wardrobe hero this summer. Wearing with my old CoH Elsa jeans, which I still love, despite or maybe because of their lower rise. Honestly, this is not the most flattering cut to my short-legged self but it is the most comfortable.

New Yucatan 2 sandals from Ecco, bought on ultra sale. I have the (much higher quality) Yucatan originals for hiking and on my commuter bike (with flat pedals, don't worry!) and decided I liked the fun colour of these enough to justify, since I can wear them on my suburban walks that take me into light trails as well as on the bike, or bring them on those trips where you don't get space to take a lot of shoes but need something a bit rugged, a bit fun. (Some of my other sandals are not secure enough for that). With the lug sole trend, they fit in.

I also got, and love, the Ecco runners. These fit my Superfeet green insoles and are going to be great walking shoes for fall and then again in spring. Also bought on substantial discount during a flash sale. I find these a bit narrower in the instep and forefoot than some Ecco shoes and that is helpful to my medium volume foot.

This colour is "hibiscus" and it works perfectly with the shirt. Speaking of which, when I wore this the other day, a hummingbird literally tried to land on me! It was very exciting!

❤️’s for the hero and the happy feet!

What a gorgeous outfit Suz! I really love that “hibiscus” colour of the sandals and how they match the shirt. I would call that colour coral. Sadly my last sandals in the colour died. And how fun about the hummingbird!

Awww to the hummingbird! I have sandals about that color too but they're too short for my feet now :/

What a joyful outfit. I too love that colour - it’s my very favourite but a bit tricky to find some years.

On my only visit to Victoria I lived the hummingbirds coming in to feed. That was August 2008.

Wonderful summery outfit! You look great, Suz!
    Love your new items.

I can see why that shirt is a winner. Great plan to find sandals that are both a bit fun and a bit rugged. I might have to steal that strategy next summer.

That shirt makes me happy - beautiful pattern! And that hibiscus red is lovely!

Go Team Linen Summer Shirt! I’m a big fan with you.

KILLER cute shirt and shoes! You wear that shade of coral sooo well on your feet! Get a RM backpack to match ;)

Well I think your jeans look great - and I appreciate a lower rise now myself . Both pair or Eccos are a perfect colour for you - great finds !

Thank you! So excited about a new phone! :)

You are right -- it's really coral, not a red I can wear near my face except as part of a pattern (as in the shirt) -- but it works fine as an accessory. And it also works fine tonally with my true reds. (Only showing with those red items I might actually wear with the shoes)

The new shirt is very pretty and I love the color of the sandals. You look fantastic in white jeans. I find white jeans very hard to wear as I feel they showcase every bump, wrinkle, and ill-fitting spot. Your jeans look like they fit you perfectly!

Fabulous look - love the cheerful color and pretty print of the blouse ( sandals are the perfect match - yay for ECCO - fav brand :) ).

A beautiful shirt and a great red complement. I have some very old coral summer sandals and they are such a versatile colour for summer.

Beautiful! I love that print linen top, and the coral/hibiscus sandals are excellent! You look fab in the jeans--the fit is top-notch, to my eye.

    What an incredible colour!!

Gorgeous colors, the coral sandals make the look-and I still love you in low rises-no matter the longer torso and... short legs didn't ever struck to me so to speak you're too harsh on yourself! Love the florals on the shirt -it is so rare to have another print than stripes on a linen shirt!  And then- am so eager to see more of your outfits, asap!!!:-)

Now I want and Neeed some coral shoes/ bag complement.  That will go on my shopping list along with a small coral bag.  Your coral is gorgeous and probably goes well with your blues.

So fresh and cute! Love that coral color.

I am hanging onto my midrise jeans with every fiber of my style being. It’s so hard to find denim in a moderate rise now, that I’m kind of glad I could give my jeans a rest during the summer so I’m not wearing them out too fast!
