WIW in Jerusalem

The good news: I am using the leather jacket! It's been beautifully sunny, but there's a chilly wind. I am very glad to have this with me.

The bad news: I might be staying longer than originally planned. Somewhere between getting on the plane in Toronto and getting off in Tel Aviv, my passport disappeared. They let me into the country, but I can't get out without travel documents.

That is what I get for flying on a Friday 13th, I guess!

Wow Suz, how exciting to be in Jerusalem! You look great of course...but oh no about the passport, hope that gets sorted.

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 9 years ago

Looking Great!  Love the purple and praying that your passport shows up...

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

I LOVE ISREAL. Wave to the Dome of the Rock for me, Suz. You are Queen Radiant Health in the old city. Glad you bought your leather jacket.

OH NO. Hope you get your passport sorted asap. Good luck.

  • CocoLion replied 9 years ago

Beautiful outfit and photography.  So sorry about the passport! Hopefully you can get a speedy replacement.  The plus side is that you provided immediate notification about the loss.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Thanks, all. It certainly provides a bit of unexpected excitement, that's for sure. I am ordinarily very organized and this kind of thing has never happened to me before. I actually think it may have slipped out of my hand as I boarded the plane. The cleaners weren't able to find it on the plane.

If someone tried to steal it, they won't get far. It expires in 3 months anyway and was no longer any use to anyone who wants to travel from here to North America or Europe.

Gorgeous outfit!  I love the purple with the white leather jacket.  I do hope you get your passport loss sorted out.

    Israel looks beautiful.

  • replied 9 years ago

Oh, you look splendid! What a shame about your passport though :( I do hope you can sort out and emergency replacement soon. What a beautiful place Jerusalem is!

  • Diana replied 9 years ago

You look great, and Jerusalem looks beautiful!  Sorry to hear about the passport.  When I lost mine in Athens, I was able to get an emergency replacement from the US embassy on the spot (although I had to wait until the embassy was actually open for business, so I ended up missing my flight home anyway).  Hope the Canadian embassy is able to do something similar.

  • Mo replied 9 years ago

Wow!  Both on the fabulous scenery and the misplaced passport.  Hope it gets straightened out - I'd be freaked to lose mine.

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Oh no, passport problems on vacation are not fun! I hope Canadian embassy can sort it out quickly for you.
Beautiful scenery and what a treat to see (our) leather jacket in Jerusalem :-)
I hope this little passport incident won't spoil your vacation. At least you are warm now! :-)

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

Danier in Jerusalem -- This jacket photographs nicely, which is nice on vacation.

What a pain, losing your passport, but at least they let you in! Probably because you looked so stylish and gorgeous. How long are you  planning to stay? I love seeing the old buildings in th background.

  • Suja replied 9 years ago

I lost my passport in Israel several years ago too!  Getting a new one was really quick.

Suz, you are looking fab for someone who lost her passport. I'm glad it's not stopping you from enjoying every minute. You are an amazing person. If that happened to me, I'd be spending all my time hovering around the embassy and missing everything else.

What a stunning backdrop for stylish you! Enjoy!

  • anne replied 9 years ago

Suz - how exciting - and what bad news. Hope it all works out. You look lovely.

And I have just checked out the temps in Jerusalem at the moment - That'll give you a pretty good idea of what my winter weather is like!  (Some colder days and a lot more rain - but often that min/max range)

  • AM replied 9 years ago

Sending you good vibes for sorting out the loss of your passport. Keep smiling. Enjoy the trip. And you look gorgeous!

  • Kari replied 9 years ago

Suz, you look fantastic with such fresh colors. LOVE the jacket - I'm actually ordering a similar cream leather jacket myself, and am bookmarking this as a great way to wear it. So sorry to hear about the passport woes!  I hope that you are able to get it straightened out soon.  One of my friends had that happen while traveling (eventually, years after her passport was replaced, they found it under the rug of the friends' house she had been staying at!)  Crossing my fingers that the rest of the trip goes more smoothly.

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

Oh dear! I hope your passport gets sorted soon.

On the other hand ... you look lovely :-)

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

Amazing photo, and you look radiant in orchid (get it? ha ha!). But you do, really. Hope all goes smoothly with the passport situation and the rest of your travels.

  • chouette22 replied 9 years ago

    Oh, great picture!
So sorry about the passport woes. I too had some passport trouble last summer and it was miserably nerve-wrecking. What a situation having to show up empty-handed at immigration, no?
On another note I wanted to thank you again for the Borgen recommendation. I just finished it last night and LOVED it! I fell in love with the Danish language as well.

  • Summer replied 9 years ago

Beautiful picture, Suz, and I'm glad you are getting to wear that lovely leather jacket.
Sorry to hear that your spell of bad luck has followed you on your travels, but hope you get the passport sorted out quickly.

  • Mona replied 9 years ago

Oh no about the passport! Hope you find it soon. Great scenery and outfit.

  • amiable replied 9 years ago

Gorgeous photo - you look terrific!  And I hope your passport gets sorted out quickly - that would be really scary!

  • texstyle replied 9 years ago

Great photo - you look happy and ready for a wonderful time. I know you'll feel better once you get your passport settled. It's so frustrating to lose something I know, but it does happen, especially when we're in unfamiliar territory.

  • Windchime replied 9 years ago

Loved seeing the pic of you in Jerusalem! Your leather jacket isn't only tres chic, but also functioning well to keep you warm.

Big bummer about the passport. I hope it's resolved quickly and easily.

  • replied 9 years ago

You look wonderful....so happy and healthy.

  • Carole replied 9 years ago

Absolutely stunning and gorgeous...you and the scenery!

  • viva replied 9 years ago

Beautiful and energetic as always! Good luck with the passport and have a glorious time.

  • Sara L. replied 9 years ago

The white jacket is great!  I hope you find your passport or get new documents.  That's stressful and I hope it's not overshadowing your enjoyment of your trip.

  • Laurie replied 9 years ago

    Suz,
Israel is at the top of our list for next international travel. Much connection for my husband, whose father was very involved to help Holocaust survivors migrate post WWII.  I will watch your updates with great interest.

Losing a passport is something I literally have stress dreams about!  You are taking it beautifully in stride.

    Jacket looks fab!

  • Ingunn replied 9 years ago

Dear Suz, you are looking fab even when stressed! I hope your passport issue resolves itself quickly. Surely this must have happened many times before, and you will get help. I know that it is annoying anyway.
