WIW: Mountain pose

So...I couldn't resist. One of my mentors at Banff picked up one of these so-tacky-it's fab t-shirts while I was there and the minute I saw it on her, I knew I had to copy. Usually, I avoid V-necks but I hope this one passes muster on me.

Whenever I start missing the mountains, I know what to do!

Haha! I saw that t-shirt in Banff and wondered who would wear it ... it actually looks quite deliberate and nice here, with a balance of few accessories, and the white jeans. :)

    Passes my muster.

  • rabbit replied 10 years ago

    Ah!  I love it :D

  • replied 10 years ago

I think it is a great tacky T. It looks great with the jeans and the cons!

  • LACeleste replied 10 years ago

Well call me tacky because I LOVE that tee!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Hah. Fun. Another wild card for Suz, that she pulls off with sass. xo

  • JAileen replied 10 years ago

Actually I like it! It's a nice souvenir of your trip.

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

I actually love it - at least in this outfit!

  • ironkurtin replied 10 years ago

It's great! Explain to us non-Canadians why it's tacky exactly?

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

Um there were a few designer photo prints of mountains a few years ago. I desparately wanted one.

  • texstyle replied 10 years ago

I see these type of tees as very "in" right now - look at some of the ones at jcrew, ae or forever21 for example. I like it!

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

What Celeste said! I love it! If that makes me tacky, so be it.

  • MuseumGal replied 10 years ago

From a distance it looks like a cool and serene water color.  I think it suits you beautifully.

  • Astrid replied 10 years ago

You know what, you pull it off perfectly! Love it with all the white and the colors are great on you too.

  • sarah replied 10 years ago

    very fun!

  • replied 10 years ago

Happily joining the 'tacky' club because I absolutely love the tee!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Thanks, all! It's a super comfy modal blend and has a bit of fluidity because I sized way up (this is a medium, if you can believe it -- I'd have taken large but it ruined the neckline on me).

Anna, I kind of felt like this was a copy of a designer thing. But I figured this was so late to the game that it entered the tacky realm. Except I liked the colours so much and thought it worked so brilliantly with white that I'd wear it in any case.

And IK, I guess I felt it was tacky partly because it's a souvenir Tee (it says Banff, Canada along the bottom hem) and partly because it is a copy of a designer thing, several years after the fact. But, as I said, I didn't care. I liked the colours for me, liked the angles and lines, and figured I would wear the heck out of it! Which I will!

  • Vicki replied 10 years ago

Give me a mountain pose any time!  The beauty, power and serenity and you strike it well!  Could those colors be any more perfect and fab on you!

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

Love that tee on you! So fun!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

This is not tacky to me! I love a scenic print!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Graphic tee with sentimental value --- check!

You've styled it perfectly --- with polished simplicity.  A definite do.

  • replied 10 years ago

I actually love it very much on you! The colors are breathtaking with your complexion. Fluid fit, high and shallow V, great colors, novelty print--it's perfect. So nice that it's made of good material. You have my blessing! Just through on your Reiss(?) blazer and it will look very high-low, lol.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Claire, I already wore it with the Reiss! On my trip home. I guess I am showing my usual pattern of wearing my new stuff on a very regular basis! :) But I am also wearing my three year old Kut jeans. Still love them. Angie pick!

  • Zibbets replied 10 years ago

Oooh, I love it. I agree that it goes all the way past tacky and into fab territory again. It's fantastic with the white jeans and silver belt.

  • ironkurtin replied 10 years ago

I must have missed the mountains thing (and here I thought I paid attention, oh well), and I think something surpasses tacky when it delights and fits as well as this tee.

  • Ingunn replied 10 years ago

I love it, too! The neckline looks great on you, and the sky blue next to your face is brilliant.

  • Mona replied 10 years ago

Such a fun t-shirt. It screams vacation with white jeans and cons.

  • carter replied 10 years ago

There've been so many photographic tees floating around lately, it would never have occurred to me that this was a "souvenir" tee. You could have told me it came from Nordstroms, and I never would have questioned. Leave no retail stone unturned, right.

  • Alassë replied 10 years ago

Your colours! Wear and enjoy. Great styling, too.

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

Just google Carven mountain top or mountainscape.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

    That's amazing. Thanks, Anna!

It's quite a knockoff, isn't it? But what I really like is that it's not just any old mountains -- it really IS the range around Banff. Actually, probably more like Lake Louise....because of the water...but still.

I must say I really enjoyed wearing it today.

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

I love the colours on you & you make it so NOT tacky :)

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

Suz- love the transformation from literary to literal! Is there anything you can't wear? Made me smile.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

A beautiful photo tee of a beautiful place worn by a beautiful woman. What's not to love?

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

See that's why I think it's cooler. It's a real place you've been and hold memories of. Besides it's only from two years ago.

I really like this Suz - it looks intentional, has beautiful colours in it, and means something to you to boot.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Agree beautiful colors and fit and not tacky at all, at least as you wear it!

  • Gigi replied 10 years ago

I agree that this doesn't look tacky. It looks great! The colors are marvelous on you.

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

I love it! It looks great on you, not tacky at all!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

You look so good in that tee, it had to come home with you! I think it's gorgeous, especially with your white jeans.

  • unfrumped replied 10 years ago

I think the colors are what make it for you, and the flow of the mountain pattern, which has nice movement. I like the idea of styling it as a graphic T with a blazer or moto.

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

wow, not sure how i missed this yesterday. i love.love.love this. it looks deliberate and totally on the printed/graphic trend.

  • MsLuna replied 10 years ago

Wow, I really like that mountain shirt, Suz! Colours are in harmony with your own! You went to Banff recently?

  • JAileen replied 10 years ago

I think this personal connection gives it meaning, instead of just being a plain old shirt.

  • Kristin L replied 10 years ago

I think the top looks great  on you. And sine it has personal meaning, that just makes it that much more perfect. I like how the white jeans brighten your outfit.

  • MsMary replied 10 years ago

LOVE!!  So fun and it looks great, to boot!!

  • Ornella replied 10 years ago

Top marks. I know what you mean, but had to look twice to actually notice the V-neck.
White jeans AND those Cons are the perfect support acts.

  • Debra replied 10 years ago

    I love it :)

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

I think it's fun! I love a good photo print. You wear it with panache!
