WIW: Pink paisley

I haven't shopped in a while, but after my closet cleanout I decided a few new items were in order, one being a lightweight knit top with some bright colour. You all know I love blue...but honestly, so much of my wardrobe is blue that there are times when it can get a bit boring. And since red was my colour of the year...

I also got new sneakers from Fitflop .I ordered a half size down and am very glad I did. A previous pair of sneakers from this company was far too wide and "messy" for me -- my feet could not fill them out so they didn't offer the support they were meant to. These will be fun and easy shoes for suburban walking in dry conditions or to do errands in town. Plus, sale price. I'm a huge lover of their sandals for my summer walks -- they have cured my plantar fasciitis. Hence my attempts at company loyalty -- which sometimes work out, and sometimes do not. :)

They are replacing my platform Cons. They don't serve quite the same function since they are not waterproof and not high tops, but they do inject fun into the fall outfit creation.

Hair -- it's been three months -- yet again! -- since my last cut. Hoping to get one next week. It's driving me nuts.

That shirt looks so much better on you, with the belt @ white jeans and your hair (which I like at this length) and of course your SMILE than it does on the model.

Great outfit, and I especially like pattern matching of sneakers and sweater. Now I have to look up those sneakers :)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

KILLER Match! Sooo fun to see you in pink, Suz! Great new stash. It’s gorgeous with your silver hair :)

I’m also loyal to brands that work for me. I’m sure you’ll thoroughly enjoy these items - and wear them in the Spring too.

The top is beautiful on you, what a fabulous outfit! Great sneakers too.

  • replied 3 years ago

Love the pink on you! You need more of that color!

  • Julie replied 3 years ago

Beautiful. I especially like those shoes! Cool and comfy.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

When are you getting your full length mirror?!

    ;)

  • SarahD8 replied 3 years ago

Huh. The pattern mix of paisley and snake print is so cool it almost makes me interested in snake print. (Historically, I don't do animal prints, but I think I've mentioned elsewhere that I have this incipient attraction to leopard in non-traditional colors...so the pink snake print kind of chimes with that.) This is a great outfit on you! Really nice transitional look.

Lovely top, and the shoes are a gorgeous match.

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

super pretty! i love the long bang on you; very flattering!

  • catherine replied 3 years ago

Love the shoes and whole outfit. So pretty.

  • Chris987 replied 3 years ago

What a great outfit! Pink is a good color on you. I know you rave about fitflop shoes....I really need to give them a try one of these days.

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

Sorry the hair is driving you crazy, ‘cause it’s pretty fab the way you are styling it.  But, I get it, and I’m sure your next iteration of pixie will be just as fabulous.  You really did yourself a favour when you went ‘au naturel’ and became a silver fox.

There is wisdom in maintaining a pink/fuschia capsule.  I think of it as a signature colour for you, even more than blue (which is maybe your core neutral?)

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

Carla, that's right -- blue is my core neutral and kind of my core colour, too! But reds and berries and fuchsia are signature. This sweater is more rust toned in person but the bright pink makes it work on me. And the white.

Chris, if you try Fitflops, DM me first -- not all are created equal and what you might need might differ from my needs. I have a fairly high arch and do best on their original footbed, but the shoes lean wide for me, so I have to confine myself to styles that can be secured, or size down.

Thank you all for the nice compliments! Angie, I have a mirror! I just haven't been able to install it yet because construction is going on in the room where it will be placed (my new study). Sigh...

Sarah, I know -- so funny how those patterns work together, right? I think the snake will also work with a few other organic patterns in the closet.

You look fantastic in the pink! Great new additions. I too like the hair this length but understand that it might be harder to style.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

You used to like and wear berry colors. The new sweater and Fitflops fit that category and look wonderful on you.

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Joy! Yes, I love the berry tones, all of them, but they can be tough to access.

Thank you, Sal. Who knows what my stylist will suggest when I see her? Maybe she'll keep the front long. I usually give her leeway to do what she wants.

What a wonderful colour for you ! And those sneakers are ridiculously cute . Love the whole look , and I’m appreciating the lower rise jeans look. Even if they aren’t , they look it and are so classic yet modern . You’re looking great these days Suz ! Hair included !

  • replied 3 years ago

What are the jeans , btw? The link just goes to the HBC home page .

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

Love the paisley! I have been paisley focused for a while. The color match and pattern mix of the new top and sneakers is fantastic. And your hair looks amazing for three months out (or anytime).

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Lovely outfit - berry colors are perfect on you!
Shoes are so fun and pretty!

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

    Thanks, all!

Lisa, that tells you how old those jeans are, ha!! They are Citizens of Humanity Elsa. I don't know if they are still made. They're a mid rise fairly loose slim jean. I'm really fond of them so wear them through style changes no matter what. Comfort is comfort!

  • Minaminu replied 3 years ago

Great additions! The colour of the top is super on you!!!

  • Jenni NZ replied 3 years ago

Wow! Matchy-matchy me is in awe on this one. I adore matching shoes with top :)

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

A beautiful and so practical style update. These colours are also perfect for you, just as lovely as your blue shades.

  • Preppy Pear replied 3 years ago

Chiming in to say how much I love the berry colors on you, too! Wow. Great purchases! I really love the larger paisley print, too. I agree with others that the top looks so much better on you then it does in the model pic.

  • Brooklyn replied 3 years ago

Wow, you look beautiful. I love that sweater so much. Printed sweaters are hard to find (I’m always looking for floral ones but paisley would be fine too). Love the match with the shoes.

  • RobinF replied 3 years ago

What a great outfit! I love the pink top and snake sneakers are fab! You always pull together the best outfits!

  • Star replied 3 years ago

I love the sneakers and would treat them as a neutral (mostly).

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

AH! Okay. We have to be patient a little longer ;)

  • Kyle replied 3 years ago

Loving your slightly longer hair, and that rosy pink is just gorgeous on you.

  • MsMaven replied 3 years ago

Wonderful color on you! I love this outfit.

  • Jane replied 3 years ago

Lovely colours! It looks so fresh with white and the sneakers are a great match. Your hair looks super! I am sorry it doesn't feel so.

  • Cardiff girl replied 3 years ago

Such a pretty top and those sneakers are fun!

  • Karie replied 3 years ago

Everything looks fabulous, but those sneakers - oh those sneakers! Love, love, love!

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

Faboo! :) Remember that fuchsia jacket you had? That was so stunning. It’s a good colour for you, these hot pinks.

  • karen13 replied 3 years ago

Awesome pattern mix and color match. You look lovely in pink. You and JAileen are making me want more pink.that sweater is just gotgeous. Tempting even though my Do Not Buyl entry would be cashmere sweaters. Of course none of mine are patterned.....

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

This is stunning! FAB sneakers here too!

  • Glory replied 3 years ago

Love it all. I remember your pink suit which was amazing! I feel I need that pink paisley sweater - suspecting it’s hard to get in Canada.

  • pil replied 3 years ago

    Love it!

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

    Matchy matchy perfection!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 3 years ago

What a great outfit! These red and pink tones are gorgeous on you. White jeans are just a super choice with this pullover, too.

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Oh my, this is as gorgeous as it can be! Love you in blues but what a delish to see you  in these   reds (magenta/fuchsia?) and patterned sneakes  to match the top! Hair is still great- you could always hack a bit of the fringe if wanted by your own(I never shy to sess with mine) but am also sorry for the hairdressers... how will they survive pandemic?

  • Debbie replied 3 years ago

Love that color on you! You look amazing!
