WIW: Red & Dark Brown

I don't have a lot of dark brown in my wardrobe. These bleulab reversible legging jeans are pretty much it -- they're blue on one side and a sort of reddish brown on the other. They're also a bit past their prime, but I like them in winter because they are extra warm.

So glad for this inspirational ensemble today! Thanks, Angie. It's cozy for a snowy day.

Suz, this is a brilliant look. I love the animal print belt and scarf you've chosen, for a little bit of subtle pattern-mixing and interest. The outfit is all the more fun because the color palette is a little unexpected for you.

I love you in that shade of red - and that cardigan is the best thing ever, isn't it?  Great outfit indeed for a winter day.  Take those boots out for a good walk today :)

    Fabulous.

As always Suz, you nail the ensembles on Fridays. SO FUN.

You have lived in that cardigan this season. Wow. What a workhorse. xo

Fabulous! I like the whole look, and the scarf really makes it look extra cozy and warm.

Gorgeous! I'm amazed at how you can conjure up an outfit from the ensemble inspiration each week.  Is your closet like Hermione Grainger's bag in 'The Deathly Hallows'??

    Beautiful!

Love this!  Beautiful color combination and I really like the belt choice and scarf with it.

Great job!  This really is a great color combo and one I know I've worn before...

I always loved dark browns as a neutral in my wardrobe, and also love it with deep reds. Your version is a cozy and comfy one and just as stylish as those from Angie's blogpost. Love the simple  white tee and the animal belt to it! Scarf is also adding pizzas:-)

Such a beautiful shade of red in both the cardigan and the scarf.

I was wondering where there was brown in your wardrobe.  I love those reversible jeans - seriously wanted a pair but never found them.  This color is a stand-in for leather.  You rock!

Great look!  I've never really thought about pairing red and brown together.  I might try some brown boots with my red dress.  It will be a different look from my usual black accessories.

    Looks great Suz!

    Great look, love it!

It's a very flattering combo for you, Suz. It does *weird me out* a little to see you looking so *woodsy.*

    Lol.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

    "Woodsy." That's funny, Rachy!

But you're right -- it's an unusual combo for me. That's why Angie's inspirations are so great -- they make us switch things up!   :)

Funnily enough, all on my own I had worn another red/ brown combo earlier in the fall.  My "Little Women" tee.

Thanks, all, for your kind words!

    Great interpretation Suz!

Well done, Suz! Love it all. That red is gorgeous on you. I'm a huge fan of the  Blundstones too. Might have to put those on the list for next year.

  • Ginkgo replied 9 years ago

    Love the scarf on you.

  • Windchime replied 9 years ago

You look cozy and festive in your Angie Ensemble interpretation! If, as I commented on her blog post, red and brown represent cherries and chocolate sauce, I guess the white must be the whipped cream. :)

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

    Windchime -- LOVE that!!

  • Aida replied 9 years ago

Lovely interpretation! Looks super cozy. I got a similar "woodsy" feeling as Rachy ^^ Totally adore your other version, which feels more urban. The pants photograph as a suede or leather-like finish, is that what they are? If so, wow that's so much richer looking than plain brown denim.

    Great interpretation Suz!

You look great! That sweater loves you. :) It's funny that we both generally wear 'summer' colours but latched on to this suggestion! Nice to change things up sometimes!

Love this for it's coziness!  I just received a long cocoon cardi in this color, but I've got 0 (that's a big fat zero) brown items in my closet!  I'll have to enjoy the combo through you!

Cozy, casual loveliness!  Yes, the accessories make the ensemble come to life!  YLF!

I love the scarf colours with your wine lippy Suz.
It is hot here today and I am fanning myself as I read about it snowing there!
