WIW: Slouchy snake - new Sam Edelmans

Thanks to forum member Claudia who spied these in my size on super sale, I got these *much* less expensively. Considering I have to send back the tall Born boots, these, at about half the price, are a steal. (ETA: How's that for girl math, eh? Never mind...it convinced the hubs!)

It was love at first sight. And Angie, thank you for helping me pick the correct size. 6.5 is just right and 7 would not have fit well at all.

I think I'm going to enjoy wearing these in warmer weather with bare legs. Believe it or not, they are a near nude for me with my pale skin!

Shannon, have you tried them yet with your portobello skirt? I think they look super with taupe!

Obviously these are going to be an indoor shoe for now, given our current weather. But I can't wait to put them through their paces elsewhere. I'm even tempted to order a pair in the putty -- even though I already *have* a pair of light taupe booties! (My Reports). The shape is nicely refined.

Great look for you, Suz! Enjoy the new boots - they are a favorite of mine as well.

SUPER CUTE! I am so jealous -- I have been chasing down those Sam Edelman's for 2 weeks and I think I missed the boat. I need them in 9.5 and clearly other ladies with my shoe size have already snatched them up. I LOVE them with your sweater and belt. Love this! (Marking as one of my favorites!)

    Hey, look, Day Vies: http://www.lorisshoes.com/boot.....=shopstyle

I don't know anything about this retailer or whether they ship, but they do have 9.5!

These look amazing on you. Where are your slouches from?

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Denise, the slouchy skinnies are from Banana Republic 2 seasons ago - they are Heritage Slouchy Skinnies and I actually bought them one size up without really realizing it (this was right after I lost my weight and I had no idea about my size.) I LOVE these pants. They have no stretch in them whatsoever - just old fashioned denim, but really worn in.

I wish I could get another pair. I have looked to no avail on ebay.

Until your great example I was actually a bit scared to wear them for the forum. I was worried that distressed denim wasn't age appropriate. Now I don't care. ;-)

I love this outfit on you. Those shoes are great. Now I am coveting them! :)

  • Isis replied 11 years ago

The shoes are perfect for you! They are going add interesting character to a lot of your outfits! I've also looked them up several times, but have so far resisted!

  • Niefern replied 11 years ago

You look great, I love everything! Especially the booties.

  • replied 11 years ago

    Gorgeous!
I am glad these found their way to you!
ETA: And that intentional slouchy skinny is something I would totally wear.
I guess BR was ahead of the fashion curve. Bought two seasons ago? Impressive.

  • pil replied 11 years ago

Those look great on you Suz!

These new booties will really allow you to up your game, Suz! What a relief that they fit you so well.

  • replied 11 years ago

    Suz, they look great!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

I know, Zap - sort of wild, isn't it? And I had no idea what I was doing...they just felt good to me and seemed to fit, so I thought, what the heck. Funny, I also bought a pair of boot cuts at the same time, long gone to consignment. These ones have stood the test of time.

Great! super cute and very you!

  • cciele replied 11 years ago

The booties and the jeans are both FANTASTIC! So glad the booties worked out for you Suz.

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Woo-hoo! After all these online ordering dramas and challenges you have a winner at last!
They look SUPER on you. I know you will enjoy them as much as I do - these booties have a gift of turning even a simple outfit into a star!
I also wore them with bare legs in the early fall - they are light enough to be low contrast.

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Thanks for the reply Suz, I pm'ed you.

  • Kristin SF replied 11 years ago

You look great and these shoes look perfect for your style.

Just FYI, I did go back and get the same shoes in putty and black. Love them. :-)

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

Lvoe this on you, Suz - and the jeans are perfect.

  • Raisin replied 11 years ago

You went for them! Can't beat a great deal on something you want badly. They do look great!

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

Wow, Suz! half tuck and slouchy skinnies. So modern and totally chic especially with your striped taupe sweater. I have a strong crush on these booties but resisted buying them as I thought they would not bookend my hair.
Isn't it great when shoes that are odered online fit? I got myself a pair from amazon and was thrilled to see that the fit was just right.
I am eagerly waiting to see how your new jeans and dress fit. Hope you get them soon.

Good Lord woman!!! This is casual SPECTACULAR!!! I knew you were going to love those boots and I'm so glad Angie steered you the right direction in terms of size. Rock on gorgeous lady!

  • replied 11 years ago

Those boots were made for you Suz. I love that they will work bare-legged as well. And with the outfit, WOW. Great striped sweater (is this one of the fab four?), you know I love those jeans, cool belt and your smiling face that just lights up a room....or a monitor. I'm so glad you got the boots at a great price and in the right size, with no drama. Hooray!

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

    Love this. Casual chic perfection!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Suz, love this from head to toe!

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

Suz, you are super sweet. Thanks for looking that up for me. *HUGS*

  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago

Another great look! I also found these booties on super sale so fist pumping all my YLF SE petty bootie twins!!

ETA: stepping away from the computer (or the Zinfandel, not sure which will win at this point)

  • Freckles replied 11 years ago

Cute shoes, cute shoes, cute shoes is my manta and although these are booties in this climate yes shoes.

Really love them on you and that outfit is so fab Suz.

  • Ariadne replied 11 years ago

They look like they were made for you--the whole outfit is perfect.

Those boots are hanging around on my wishlist. I can't decide if they're "me" or not.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

I was having trouble deciding that, too. Plus the price was forbidding. (At the sale price Claudia found it was obviously much better.)

In the end what swayed me positively was the shape, I think. And I kept thinking of ways I could wear them.

Una felt they were too ladylike for her and urged me not to buy. They don't feel too ladylike for my style, but they are a polished feeling bootie, for sure. But I wear my Blundstones or my tall Timberlands when I want more rugged.

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

Just stunning. The right bootie for your style, Suz. Very modern and eye-catching, but versatile and easy to wear.

    Yeah!

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Very happy to see you in those booties. Love the whole outfit of course!

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

I should take notes, because I've barely worn mine.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Hmm. I wonder why, Anna. I think they would work great with that cream sweater (just as an example). But also your cream blouse and several other things. I think maybe it's because you have so many other brilliant choices. I will say the heel height should be pretty good for you.

  • Joy replied 11 years ago

Brilliant outfit, Suz! You will love those SE booties. I'm hoping for a big sale to pick up the putty version too.

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

Of course it's a great buy, but even more importantly, you look gorgeous in this outfit! Loving the snakes and stripes!
