WIW: Sparkly sweater

I actually wore this before the holidays. Friends from Calgary were visiting and we were entertaining them to supper. Our daughters were meeting for the first time. This called for a bit of celebration! I will wear this again for at-home or casual festivities during the season.

What I love about this outfit is that it's basically loungewear. But it still looks festive and a bit dressy! Win-win.

BR sparkly sweatshirt from last year (so not in Finds...but I pinned up similar)
J. Crew Turner crepe pant in navy
Donald Pliner bronze booties (from last year NAS -- not in Finds)

Looking at this now, I kind of wish I'd added some dangling earrings. I still have a few pair hanging around (ha ha!) but I rarely wear them unless going "out" and this was an at home celebration.

BTW, I later changed into jeans and boots (leaving the sweatshirt on) and went for a long long walk with my friend. :)

Yay for festive loungewear! Such a fun and sparkly look, and the bronze boots look like the perfect match for that outfit.

SO cute!!! Jealous that the Turner pants work on you. How's the rear view?

    Great outfit Suz!

Perfect outfit for a slightly casual festive atmosphere.  Love!

Talk to me about those pants... are they a winter version of the upscale track pant?  or are they thin?  Given you have the linen pants, I'm guessing they are thicker...

Looks fab Suz! The sparkle is perfect and those pants sure do look comfy. I'm loving those bronze booties too, they need to be in my closet :D

WoW ! I had to look up those pants. They look amazing ! and comfy as well !
You are truly sparkling here ! TRULY ! Just take your breath away ...

    Thanks, all.

Vivian, I have to confess I never really look at the rear view. Maybe I should! I guess I am not a "riveting rearsider," as Angie calls it? What I know is that it's comfortable.

What I THINK is that the rear is loose but not saggy. I will try to take some photos later, though it's hard to get accurate shots of navy.

Elizabeth, these pants are heavier than the linen pants for sure and have a sweatpant like elastic on the bottom. They are made of a heavy polyester crepe that does not wrinkle. They are warm enough for autumn as is. In winter I intend to put some long underwear underneath them and I think this will make them surprisingly weather worthy. Which is kind of nice in a dressier pant.

Warning to tall ladies: These are SHORT pants. They work on me 5'4" and they might work on someone up to 2 inches shorter or taller, but if you are taller than 5'6" they would probably be serious flood pants.

Fabulous, Suz! I love your sparkly top!!

LOL about the pants length warning....;)

Wow Suz you look dynamite in this!  You have the perfect body type for sparkly tops and this is a 5-star at-home (or anywhere for that matter) outfit.  I'm of the mind that sparkly tops look best on very slim bodies with smaller busts.

And in navy too!  So luxe.  Those boots are fantastic too. Full-on love from me for this ensemble. If I had it and looked as good as you do in it, I'd be wearing it tomorrow night .

What a great outfit! I love long line the navy on navy creates, and those bronze booties are gorgeous. I don't miss any earrings, this look is perfect as is.
It sounds like your friend's visit was a success. Lucky her for getting to go on a long, long walk with you. How wonderful. :)

    Gorgeous! Festive and fab!

I am so happy to see this sparkly sweathsirt in action again: love it on you. (still kicking myself for missing on it last year - would be a great piece for me for today's ensemble!)
And the booties too! I hope they get enough wear and love from you because they are truly gorgeous on you.
The pants fit you so well and the length is perfect (envious sigh here...)

    Killer

You nailed the formula, Suz. Very fashionable and festive. Your eyes are sparkling too. xo

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Ha, Angie - thank you! This was before the surgery, though! Just didn't post the pic until now. :)  Hopefully they are sparkling even more these days!

That sparkly sweater is gorgeous! That shade of blue looks wonderful on you. And what's with J. Crew's pant lengths this season? It seems like everything is made for the shorter gals.

Love Navy for a holiday choice!  And of course, there's always the association of blue with Chanukah.  Most of my Christmas "parties" are all at home, or in the home of others, so I love seeing festive casual outfits.  Hope you get to wear it again!

This outfit is so beautiful on you. I love how it's festive and relaxed. And love "our" booties with it!

  • Marley replied 9 years ago

Love it Suz! Both the color and the styling are perfect IMHO! You look sparkly and festive - in a very cool and chic kind of way!

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

Pretty sparkle top and you look so comfy too.

  • shiny replied 9 years ago

    Gorgeous!

This and your other post this weekend compelled me to order the Turner pants and give them a try. Unfortunately they did not have petite left in my size, so I ordered regular size 2. I am hoping these will work - I don't mind having the hem shortened if I have to.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Oh, Jennifer, I do hope they work! They are a really easy pant to wear, surprisingly versatile. I really like them.

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

I love this .. Obviously ... The slouch and magpie genes in me will love this! I may have to copy. Hmm ... Do I have a sequined sweater? Nope. A sequin tank may be :)
