WIW: Spring into summer

These are all outfits I wore in my first week home from Banff, as our weather gradually switched from very cool spring to summer. You've seen some before -- sorry for repeats. Just keeping track for myself.

You'll notice I have borrowed Mo's trick of wearing the same item different ways a couple of days in a row.

#1 Work at home on a cool day:.

#2/3: Out for supper with Mr. Suz.

#4: Saturday at home: .

#5: Sunday at home.

#6: To a friend's book launch.

#7: To meet with Mona.

#8: Cool rainy day:.

#9: To meet the teacher.

#10: To get a hair cut:.

#11/12: To the garden party.

Thanks for looking! Mostly just trying to keep myself accountable. What I note: tons of white (YLF influence!!), emphasis on comfort, and super happy to be wearing my VC tube skirts again. They are a spring/ summer/ early fall staple for me.

My absolute favorite .. My absolute favorite .... Hmm ... I don't know! What a smashing week you have had! I love the way you carry your outfits. The two jackets are perfection.

And Suz is back with a bang :)

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

What a fantastic set of outfits, Suz! In fact, I'm clapping with delight right now, as you have given me lots of outfit inspiration for the VC tube. I have a copy planned for #10 already! I also love all the ways you've worn white. Another of my favs is #5, the khaki shorts with the pink top (I've loved that combo ever since Angie posted about it - I never would have thought of putting it together before) but I have a question - where is the pink top from? I thought it might be the J. Crew sweater in your "Finds" but that one is a V neck.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

My absolute favorite has to be your white linen in 11. Heavenly! All are gorgeous. TeamDressy here, 2/3 stands out. I would be staring if I saw you in the restaurant. So wonderful to have you back!

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

Oh wow Suz! I love them all! Your casual & dressy casual outfits are just perfection to me. You give me so much inspiration! Well, of course the all white outfit was my fav from the get-go, but looking at this wonderful collection, my next favourite is the first one!!! One of my own fallback looks, and I love the dark vneck on you! All of your tube skirt looks are great too. Funny, we tend to pick a favourite right away, but really they are all fantastic outfits with their own merits. I like the idea of wearing things two days in a row as well - I don't necessarily do it twice in a row, but often will re-wear & re-pair something a bit later in the week, then wash it up if necessary. Happy Weekend :)

i'm loving the simplicity of your color palette, and marveling at how you have played with the mix of textures, proportion, and color intensity. WOW!

  • Alana in Canada replied 9 years ago

Hello. I love these outfits. So classy. So elegant, yet approachable. Love your red shoes, too.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Thank you! Alana, those sandals were an Angie pick from last summer. They might be available from 6 pm or someplace this year -- worth a try. I can look up the name for you but not this minute.

Jackie, I tend to avoid V necks because they aren't great with my long neck, small bust, and short hair, but I do love the angularity of them and think that suits me. So I hit on the idea of wearing them with a crew neck underneath or a higher necked cami. Best of both worlds.

Joy, we'd be staring at each other, because you would look even more fab!!

Karie, the pink top is one of the J. Crew boatneck tees (like the navy one in the Finds). I got three of them on sale a while back. They change the colours up from time to time. This style would work well for you, I think. And they do go on sale. I find I need a cami if I am going anywhere public. I might wear it at home without on a super hot day.

ETA: Shannon, if you see this -- note my mushroom hair in the early pictures. That is with flat ironing the bangs...this is how it looks 6 weeks in, no matter what. I have to get it trimmed every five. Every 4 can be a problem because she overdoes it and it seems to grow back thicker. By the garden party pic, post haircut, it's better.

Suz, these are such gorgeous outfits and I love them all on you! What really stands out to me are the outfits where you're wearing that pink shirt (5 and 6)!

  • Joyce B replied 9 years ago

    Fabulous outfits, Suz.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Alana, the sandals are Rieker D4552 Thalia 52, and Angie talks about them here.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Killer all round. You look so radiant, healthy, pulled together and confidant, Suz. I cannot pick a favourite. Your style has evolved enormously since you started posting picks with long hair. It's been fun to follow.

Fun seeing your gorgeous taupe blazer come out to play too. And which dress are you wearing in #8? Have your new sneaks arrived yet?

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Is it MY Tahari blazer in #6? I LOVE this outfit with pink and taupe and this blazer is amazing with the BF jeans!
But of course you look and they are so different but still totally you.

  • merwoman replied 9 years ago

wow!! Stellar week Suz - they're all my favourites you gorgeous lady!

  • Aubergine replied 9 years ago

Such a nice week of outfits! My favorite is #2-3 because it's so effortlessly glamorous-looking. I also love the landscape tee and the combination of the pink clutch and navy blazer in #7.

  • SarahTheWhite replied 9 years ago

Oh my goodness... What a treat to look at every single picture! Every look is just beautifully put together. They are all equally fabulous, but my own personal favorites are 7, 8, and 11. I also can't get over how elegant you look in 2 and 3, and then what you did with the skirt in #10... wow. I know that I have been pretty strong in my feelings about the whole sporty/luxe and white sneaker trend, but I unreservedly love #10. And no one could be more surprised with that than I am!

You look amazing and you have amazing style!! Thank you so much for posting these...

  • Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago

"Mushroom hair" noted - lol! But you're still incredibly gorgeous! Seriously Suz - every single one of these outfits is spot on perfect. The fits, the colors, the accessories, the footwear and the proportions...PERFECT! I can only aspire to get it this right :)

Now I need to go lay down and recover...

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Thank you all so much. This is my boost for the day.

Sveta, that is indeed the Tahari blazer. It has seen a lot of wear considering I lost a month of possible wear while I was away and did not have it with me. I haven't worn yet as a suit but that day will come. The jacket is truly a dream to wear because it does not wrinkle and the sleeves are so narrow they scrunch well.

Angie, thank you! The "dress" in 8 is actually my VC tube skirt in navy with the j crew linen tee in navy. I love two piece dresses like that. Perfect for travel.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

ETA. Those are the new sneaks, Angie. In 10.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Hah. Brilliant. The perfect two piece-frock. Enjoy your new sneaks. xo

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

:-) I knew why I had to twist your arm...;-)

  • replied 9 years ago

You're spoiling us with such a lovely selection of outfits Suz!

I see a great sense of cohesion through them all even though some are more casual than others and some are skirts while others are pants outfits. You do bold monochrome equally as well as colour too, like your at-home shorts outfit. I think you definitely have your niche.

     Favourites... lets see.. 2/3, 5,6,7 and 11/12.

  • replied 9 years ago

You really have figured out your style. These are all great.

  • abc replied 9 years ago

Wow. These are all killer to me. I can't pick a favorite. I'm going to use some of these for inspiration bc I have similar pieces. Thanks for sharing.

  • Gracie replied 9 years ago

Very beautiful transitional outfits. 3 and 11 are taking my breath away! Just wow!

  • annagybe replied 9 years ago

    Great run.

  • Lyn D. replied 9 years ago

    What a stunning week Suz!
#2 is sensational- I haven't seen the cape ? topper before- fantastic.
    Is it new?

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Thank you all. Lyn, the "cape" is actually a kimono topper. It is vintage Biba from the 60s I think. I bought it on consignment and had owned it for at least a year before I figured out how to wear it. Last summer it was suddenly a workhorse for summer!

  • Ornella replied 9 years ago

Fabness alert! Fabness alert! Fabness alert!

Too much good stuff, honestly. Too much. My brain cannot process it all.

Favourite? Shoot me! No clue. Maybe, maybe, maaaaaaaybe #9 because and ONLY because I haven't seen you in that combo yet.

    But overall

Suz, these are all such great outfits.  I cannot pick a favorite.  You look so stylish and you are radiant! I need the VC shoes in my life. :-)

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

These are fantastic outfits & the thing that grabs my attention (apart from your gorgeous face) is how coherent your look has become. Of course I love that it has :) The white outfits are especially beautiful - simple, modern & relaxed. What a fab week :)

ETA: I love the sandals - I've ordered them & hope they will be replacements for my current grey ones which are getting very old :)

  • tricia w. replied 9 years ago

I love your style! You've given me such inspiration, on creating a capsule wardrobe and mixing different pieces together.

  • Marley replied 9 years ago

FAB outfits Suz! I am absolutely dying over #11. Just beautiful - and I WILL be copying it! I also am marveling over the architectural silhouette of #2. So very cool. All of these look just like you - absolutely perfect! Thank you so much for sharing! (That pink is gorgeous on you.)

  • Mo replied 9 years ago

Fab!  How nice to see you not having to dress for snow . . . finally ;)

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

What an amazing set of outfits Suz! I love the pops of bright pink, I love the dress, I love the skirt, I love you in white, your jackets are perfection, what am I missing? If you do nothing but repeat these outfits until the weather changes you would be set - but of course we would be happy to see any variations!

  • unfrumped replied 9 years ago

    2& 3, 5& 6, 11 are faves but how to choose?
I don't quite get the proportions in10, but then, I struggle with styling cropped jackets. So glad you got the pink top and styled with olive. I would like to copy! Tube skirt is perfect on you.

  • Debora replied 9 years ago

These are all so fabulous, Suz. I started to pick my favorites and then it turned out to be just about every single one. What the heck - they are all my favorite!

  • Runcarla replied 9 years ago

Great week! Gotta say I do love the souvenir T and white bottoms! Just so much fun.

  • Windchime replied 9 years ago

Did you feel as marvelous as you looked all week? I love your tube skirt with the kimono topper--so elegant! It's instructive to see well you remix your pieces. I'm also taking special note of how you style your high top sneakers, since you planted that seed in my mind. :) Finally, I'm just smitten with your Garden Party outfit. Thanks for posting these; it's a treat to look through them.

  • Suja replied 9 years ago

Wow.  You looks so fabulous.  Your look is just so put together.

  • Phatgranny replied 9 years ago

Suz, your outfits are always so stylish and chic.  Love you in the striped skirt. You're just such a cutie!

  • Sara L. replied 9 years ago

Great outfit!  They are all fab but I especially like the white on white outfit.  Soooo breezy and summery looking.

  • jazz69 replied 9 years ago

Suz, I love every outfit on you- you look happy and confident. And that pink j crew shirt looks fresh and fun on you;))

  • Gigi replied 9 years ago

WOW. Amazing! Thanks for posting these works of art, Suz!

All of them are copycat worthy, but my absolute favorite has to be the one for dinner with Mr. Suz. Too awesome!

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

These are stellar, Suz.  There is no fuss in any of these -- the lines are clean and polished, but there is plenty of interest and energy.  The fits are modern and flattering, and every item is incredibly versatile.  Brava!

  • texstyle replied 9 years ago

Love all of these Suz - can't choose a favorite really because they are all spot on stylish and lovely on you in every way. Great inspiration!

  • Carole replied 9 years ago
