WIW: Two versions for two countries! (And more)

Today, in honour of Angie's ensemble, I am wearing blue, white, and a spec (pun intended) of red in the form of my glasses, which are actually fuchsia, but you guys won't complain, right?  (Photo 1)

But let's not kid ourselves. Blue and white is my summer uniform! I even wore it on Canada Day, when we traditionally wear red and white. ;)   (Photo 2)

I wore it less casually yesterday, to go to the dentist.... (Photo 3)

And (Photo 4) even more ultra-casual, with gear-as-streetclothes on the way to the gym on July 2. (The top is gear, shorts & shoes are street clothes...shorts are tough to photograph but are black and white microcheck, on their 3rd summer and going strong.)

I didn't snap a photo of Monday's outfit. But I am pretty confident that it also involved blue and white.

Happy July 4th!

Wow Suz! Great outfits. Blue is certainly your colour. I really love the vibrancy of #1 and the fluidity of #3. To be honest though, it's hard to pick a favourite.

Your new pieces are working so beautifully for you Suz and it seems all shades of blue look fabulous on you. But of course, we already knew that :)

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

Yes, I agree with Diane - I simply can not pic a fav. Blue is your color for sure!

    Super summer looks!

  • Tanya replied 9 years ago

Wonderful blue&white looks!  I also can not pick a favorite, love them all!

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

Look at you in all your blue & white fabness!!! So great! Jeepers I have those blue camo shorts too - so can try to rock the blue & white today too! You always look so put together - even with gear - wow!!!

PS those new metallic sandals are perfection on you

Slam dunk!  A great set of outfits Suz.  And guess what?  I can copy you on some of them :)  I actually didn't realize you had the Gap camo shorts, aren't they great?  And you too Jackie?  Wishing I'd got that linen tee in cobalt as well as navy.... uh oh.... :)

I hereby crown you Queen Blue & White. The ensemble post was for you. And of course - you have the killer casual ensembles to represent the look. xo

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

You summer style is breezy and a lovely balance of crispness and flow.  You manage to make casual look special -- and that's key when we spend so much time working at home.

  • CocoLion replied 9 years ago

1 and 3 are awfully good Suz.  :-)  Love your sandal collection too.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Leave it to you to know how to look crisp in the summer heat! All these outfits look wonderful on you, but my favorite is #1 with the white bottoms.

Woo-hoo! You're making me want to go dig my white clams out of the donate pile! You look so fab in blue and white, and I really love (and am jealous of) the element that your heeled sandals add to your cropped pants and long shorts ensembles. They seem to give some structure to the more voluminous looks. You really have your proportions nailed Suz. Which is really amazing since you have a variety of silhouettes figured out (instead of being a sissy like me and just sticking with one tried and true formula). Kudos to you! *curtsying to Queen Blue and White*

When you look that good in blue and white, do you really need anything else?

  • Helena replied 9 years ago

Absolutely BORN to wear blue and white, Suz ... gorgeous!

  • merwoman replied 9 years ago

Rocking the blue! So fresh and summery looking!!

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Thanks everyone, and I happily accept the title, Angie! At least in summer, this is my favoured combination, for sure.

I ran into a friend this morning wearing the same combination! (Note, her top was not semi-tucked. She is not on YLF.) ;)

Claire, it is so nice of you to comment on proportions. I think I still struggle a bit in that area but am getting better. It helps to have more items, to be honest. I think that's one key reason I can't go truly minimal with my closet. Because if I did I would have to limit silhouettes even more than I already do, and I'm not quite ready to go there. (I might be -- after a bit more experimentation -- it's tough to say.)

Joy, today is a blissfully cooler day with a breeze. You can tell it was stinkin' hot on July 1!! A slightly more rumpled look.

Elizabeth, those Gap shorts are really fun and comfy. So is the cobalt top! :)

Beth Ann, it's so true -- if you are working from home it's really important to feel good in casual wear.

I especially love that JCrew blue tee. Looks great on you!

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Pam, the drapey linen tees are amazing. They fit large. I am wearing an xs. My usual size would be 0 or 2 in tops, or xs...but as you can see, this one really drapes.

It IS a little bit sheer. I am wearing a cami underneath. I have it in four colours. I would potentially wear this colour with a nude bra only. Ditto for my navy and pink ones. But I wouldn't wear the white without a cami or tank underneath. Keep in mind, I'm talking about wearing it casually, not in an office setting.

  • replied 9 years ago

Yes, you dress more like Angie (and your working closet is probably the same size as hers), who enjoys sporting a few different silhouettes each season. It really take some practice to figure out a look--for me anyway. You are doing some great homework to get all of these just right. I'm interested to see how you're going to style your new tunic top. I find those tricky to wear, so I'll be taking notes!

Thanks Suz- went ahead and ordered them to try. We have a family vacation on Cape Cod in a few weeks and they would be perfect for the beach house!

  • carter replied 9 years ago

It's just ridiculous how beautiful this color is on you. Love 1 and 3 best!

  • pil replied 9 years ago

Boy, do I wish I had your eye, Suz! Really wonderful looks. The shimmer of your shoes makes them all the more fab. Blue and white for me today too - with my red specs.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

    Pil, we are twins! :)

Carter, I actually just wrote a disquisition about this cobalt and me on Astrid's thread. ;)

  • MsMary replied 9 years ago

Wow, this is casual elegance at its best!  I am swooning over those fab sandals!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

These outfits are stunning, Suz. I can see why blues are your summer uniform. I want to go to the School of Suz on casual and shorts looks!

  • Sal replied 9 years ago

Such lovely summer looks, I especially love 1. But they are all such a perfect mix of fashion style and comfort!

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

Wows and Plonks for all of them! Impecable fit and proportions, as Claire also said! Esp love the nr 3! Love that linen shirt and  navy pants, the bag and the sandals! Then nr 1 is close there, too! Is that tee the famous cerulean blue?:-) That  shade is  particullary great on you!  Queen  blue and white for sure! Bravo Suz!:-)

  • Day Vies replied 9 years ago

WOW! We are twin-like today -- right down to the pewter sandals!  I love this shade of blue on you. So crisp with white I also love the structure of the belt and it's low contrast with the shorts. Fabulous!
I really like this length for you in shorts. It's absolutely perfect. The length gives you a long lean profile. I adore the slim fit and the proportions. Snatch up all you can with this length and fit -- it's supremely flattering on you.
I also love #3. The shirt is so cool and crisp. I like the over-sized fit and stripes paired with the cropped trousers.

What a great blue and white capsule. # 1 blows me away.

  • Style Fan replied 9 years ago

You look amazing.  What a great collection of blue and white outfits!  Love them all.  The only blue pieces I own are denim.  You sparkle in blue.

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

Gorgeous as always - REALLY can't pick a favourite :)

  • MsLuna replied 9 years ago

You ROCK the blue and white Suz :) I always love them on you!

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

You rocked those looks Suz!! And your shorts are so flattering on you .. All of them! Especially love the micro check one. And love the metallic sandals with this too (it's different in that its not silver)

  • rachylou replied 9 years ago

    Cute and trim!

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

There is a reason why blue is a main color in your wardrobe, it's a great color on you!

  • columbine(erin) replied 9 years ago

I love your blue and white looks, Suz! I've loved them ever since I became a member here and they keep getting better and better. You're an inspiration to me, truly.
