WIW: White Jeans in (endless) winter

So, winter just won't quit here. Yesterday was BRUTALLY cold. Today is only super cold, because the sun is shining. But I want spring, so I pulled out the white jeans. Wearing them with my Pettys and my Vince Camuto pea coat, plus a charcoal wool turtleneck. Happiness factor: High as it goes.

On a sadder note: My local Gap does not carry the mesh sleeve sweater (or doesn't have it yet). BOO.

And worse -- our accommodation in London is no more! We have to find a new place to stay! A pipe burst in the apartment and the electricity is out. They have offered to move us to another apartment hotel but the reviews of that place are not great. Double plus BOO!!

Gorgeous Suz,  Simple perfection really!  I love the black and white and more black!  Summer and winter combined, isn't it!
  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago
Oh no!  Are there other options?

And your outfit is so fresh and crisp.  It makes me yearn for colder weather (almost).
  • Ingunn replied 11 years ago
I love this, Suz! Super fab, so stylish and very modern classic. The white jeans and the turtleneck are a strong combo. The Peacoat is a perfect topper, and the booties tie everything together.  I hear you on the harsh March Winter, we're experiencing the same here. So sorry about your accommodation in London, I hope something else tuns up very quickly.

Not sure, Denise - hubs is doing a mad search now! We may end up in the place they've suggested. It is not their fault - the are lovely people, and I feel almost as badly for them as I do for us! Imagine having that happen to you - it's not good for business.

Love the bold contrast of this outfit. So simple and fresh. Double boo for London accomodation! Hope the new accomodation is not as bad,
  • Tanya replied 11 years ago
First of all, you look absolutely wonderful!  I love everything about this outfit as it is!  And I might copy it tonight :)

I am so sorry to hear about the accommodations in London, I hope you manage to find something appropriate on time.  And hope the weather improves as well.

Let's hope they have insurance to cover their losses.  I am sure you'll find a great hotel, aren't you not leaving for another 2 weeks?  London is packed with Hotels.  I love trip advisor for hotel searches, so I can read reviews.

I knew it was you before I saw your face--yay for having a strong style signature!

I saw the first photo and this was my reaction:

    *faints*

    *brief lapse of consciousness*

Oh no! Hope you find great accommodation chop-chop!

Canadian Gap is selling the mesh sweater online.

    *faints again*

Well, hello Angie's twin! That says is all, right?

Oh yes, I hear you, the winter here had played a cruel joke. We had an amazing week of real spring, you could smell it in the air - and then we had another snowfall followed by the coldest night temperatures recorded this winter. Plays a bit with one's mind too...

Sorry about the LDN accommodation, I hope it gets sorted soon.
  • Suz replied 11 years ago
Chuckling...Angie I hope you have some smelling salts handy!!

I know I can order the sweater online, and I will. I just wondered if I could get it for my trip!  Plus I wanted to see which size would be best. :-)

    Jayne, we are leaving tomorrow!!

We actually weren't going to stay in a hotel, but a small apartment. And we do use the TripAdvisor -- thank you! It has been helpful in the past.

I love how the weather can spur us on to pick outfits that defy it!!!
    Beautiful!
  • Thistle replied 11 years ago
First, you look terrific.  I am a,ways so impressed with your clean, minimal yet super chic style!

Second, I feel ya on spring!  We got another inch of snow on Friday, and we all bundled up today and dodged ice chucks to go for a walk. I just can't take being cooped up anymore!

i know nothing about London, but i hope you find another place ASAP! That is awful news!
  • Caro in Oz replied 11 years ago
YLF! Have a wonderful trip - hope the accommodation is sorted.
  • Raisin replied 11 years ago
Well this looks great Suz!  Winter is just holding on, isn't it?  I think we're in for a snowstorm Tuesday, boo to that too!  Well I hope you find an even better place to stay in London.  Not the kind of stress you need last minute though.
  • sarah replied 11 years ago
Suz, I can't believe your accommodations fell through. When do you leave? That is utterly wretched. Can they help you find others?

You look fantastic! I hadn't thought (or dared?) to wear my white jeans in sloppy MN, but am looking forward to wearing them overseas. We leave tomorrow! We'll be in London for only a night next Sat - shall I look for you on the streets?!
  • annagybe replied 11 years ago
    Great look!
  • Beth replied 11 years ago
Love it. Love, love love. It's modern classic, it's interesting, it's graphic in the mix of colors, it's fun. Home run!
  • merwoman replied 11 years ago
    GORGEOUS!
So sad to hear the sad news re mesh sweater and accomodations.
Suz - I think you need to order both the small and medium - I know how fussy you are (smiles) and you will need to compare the fit of both before you make your final decision.
Re accomodation - this just means that an even better place is waiting for you and hubs!
  • sarah replied 11 years ago
Oh and by the way, I'm totally stealing that look for my trip. My trench is even black!
  • siniestra replied 11 years ago
well sure ur choco aventuras (adventures) are not so good but something i wont boo about is your gorgeous outfit!!! i love it from head to too ....has a little newyork/ european vibe on it !!!
  • 4babiesMe replied 11 years ago
Classic and beautiful!  And oh no about the London apartment!  :(  I hope you can find something.
  • Suz replied 11 years ago
Update: FOUND a new apartment in Putney - a bit of a distance but a lovely place (and our other one was distant, too.)

    Sarah, I PMd you.

THANK you all for your lovely compliments. I felt 100% fab in this outfit today..um...until I forgot to put my apron on while I was cooking supper and got food all over my sweater. Ah well. Into the wash!

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago
Who needs spring when one can see you strutting in winter in this outfit! Angie's twin indeed!
That's too bad about the apartment in London. I hope you an find a suitable replacement in time: it should not be difficult in this low season. I don't know if you used then but I found http://www.vrbo.com very handy for renting apartments for travel. Good luck!
  • Runcarla replied 11 years ago
I don't know where your DH's conference is, but Dh and I like interesting spots to stay, and are checking out http://www.universityroom.co.uk for places to say when we are abroad in September.  Our son is traveling as part of a Canadian team of mixed age athletes ( teens to 'masters') and the Canadian team hotel they are staying at is Princes Gardens located at Imperial College near Hyde Park.

    FYI.

You are amazing, Suz! First of all, you look incredibly fab in your winter white jeans!  And second of all, before I can post my OH NOES! re: your London accommodations, you have it all sorted out!  You rock!
  • Karie replied 11 years ago
You look wonderful in black and white! I hear you about the cold weather. It is very cold here too.

Glad you found a place to stay. Have fun on your trip!

  • hedgiehog replied 11 years ago
Suz, I am loving the coat and white jeans! You look great! Hope the new place works out for you. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly.
    Safe travels.
  • Elizabeth P replied 11 years ago
Oh, so glad to hear your accommodations have worked out. I'm sure finding something reasonable in London is NOT easy.

you look awesome, and you've motivated me. If you can wear white in TO, surely I can in Hfx!  I have a pile of white jeans here at the moment, and am happy to report 2-3 of them actually fit!  Just have to decide on leg style. Or not :).

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago
Oh I'm sorry about your London accommodations! The endless winter certainly does not help but you look fantastic! The coat is the cherry on top. very NICE.
  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago
You look amazing, Suz!  And I hear you on the endless winter!
I think the Petty's really bring this look together -- they're light in color, but substantial in visual weight.

Hope you find a place to land in London quickly!
  • Jaime replied 11 years ago
Wow you look gorgeous but my head it spinning! Is today tomorrow? Have you already left? You lost an apt. and found one since I was last here! Have a wonderful trip and I look forward to as many details as you can possibly share!
  • replied 11 years ago
Wow, you are convincing me that I need white jeans!
  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago
Oh no....hope you can find other suitable accomodations Suz! Nothing like adding a bit of last minute stress to your trip. On the plus side, you look GORGEOUS! I love these crisp colour combos on you and the fit of those jeans is just so incredibly perfect. I too am waiting for Spring...*sigh*...
  • Aida replied 11 years ago
Lovely! The white jeans look super paired with the dark turtleneck and bits of animal prints. CRISP for sure. I'm only slightly biased because I recently wore almost this exact outfit :D
  • Lyn D. replied 11 years ago
Love the booties with the white jeans!
  • Joy replied 11 years ago
You look amazing. I hope the new apartment works out well.  Are you near a good Underground station? Some tasty places to eat?
  • krishnidoux replied 11 years ago
Like, like, like! Beautiful! What a great combination.
I am so sorry about London. What a downer. Hope you find something even better very soon. At least you are so stylish through it all!
  • lyn67 replied 11 years ago
Wow, this is the most gorgeous springy outfit worn in a never ending winter, like you are complaining about, Suz!:-) Simple, but unexpected, crisp and bold!
Sorry about the mess around accomodation in London, hope you'll have it sorted, soon:-)
  • Lisa replied 11 years ago
The white jeans add a nice nod to spring with an otherwise cold weather outfit.  Lovely!
