What I'm Wearing: For Anna!

When Anna posted this link for me: http://www.manrepeller.com/201.....-suit.html

I just knew I had to try it out.

Admittedly, I can't wear this outdoors tonight. After supper I'm taking my daughter skating and to see the fireworks and I will have to bundle up.

But guess what? The Man Repeller's outfit didn't repel my man. He likes it! Except he wants to know why my shirt is undone.

Happy New Year, everyone - and thanks especially to Anna who is such a style inspiration and who has to work tonight.

Great job Suz! You worked it! Your hubby is a doll.

Anna I hope you have an uneventful evening at work.

    KILLER

I can just handle the length and width of the pants with the booties - makes all the difference - you know that part is hard for me :)

Add this outfit to my thread!!!

Great job, Suz! If any one can pull off this look, you can, with your effortless style and your bright and shiny smile. Now, I just have to ask: is there a GIF with the dance move lurking somewhere, that you can ETA to this post? ;-)

    Happy new year!

Wow - this actually works really well Suz - great suggestion Anna!

    And kudos to Mr. Suz!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Aw, thank you. I have to admit, this was Mark's first sight of the python booties (he was away for a few days when they arrived) and he REALLY did a double-take at those. But he liked them.

Angie, these pants really don't work even with these booties for real life. Not only is the width a problem, but the LACK of width at the waist is another issue. I think all the holiday eating has made me grow an inch from where I was in the spring when I got this suit on consignment.

So right now I am wearing my thermals in prep for the outdoor skating! At least they are stretchy.

Anna, I LOVE the inspiration. I think she's made it possible for me to wear the jacket more successfully. I tried it a bunch of ways before and just didn't feel good, but the plaid shirt really helped it feel like me, somehow.

Oh Suz I don't know what I love more, your inspired outfit or your cat that ate the canary look in thermals. I would love to see the outfit with other jeans/trousers too, although I understand that would take down some of the maximum impact. I really like it!

I love the mix of patterns ... such a happy outfit

You look so festive! Gorgeous, Suz!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

    Now that's awesome.

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

I love this! The outfit has energy and is terrific, of course, but even more impressive is you ability to remix such a distinctive suit in such a new way. Happy New Year!

  • lyn67 replied 11 years ago

Yeah, this is a happy outfit Suz!!!! You know you cannot go wrong with fuchsia, and assure you, the shirt is the best tool to make the trousers work, even if feeling it a bit tight (as said, but nobody noticed!):-)
    Happy New Year!

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Suz, I think fuchsia trouser suit should be on your future shopping list because It looks GORGEOUS and with this plaid shirt and SE booties it is just plainly brilliant!

Hey are those your hoop earrings from your S.S. in the thermal picture? Verrrrrrrry nice! Loved the silk suit outfit too, just like Man Repeller's!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Claire, you are so observant! And you are right - they are my new daily earrings!! My SS was VERY smart!!

  • Jules replied 11 years ago

I do not know how or why this works, but it does, very much! Happy New Year!

  • krishnidoux replied 11 years ago

Clearly those pants were made for this type of footwear and height. And the shirt's colours is genius with the outfit's unusual shade.

I quite like it, and also the very relaxed attitude you have taken to wear it, which to my view "makes" the outfit: pushed sleeves, open un-tucked shirt, little jewellery. The contrast is the secret.

But I also think that the very material of the suit itself calls for a very special event.

    So pretty! Love this, Suz.

Super-festive outfit, Suz! Happy New Year!

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

What a way to bring in the new year! The outfit is dramatic, happy and festive. Hope to see more of these kind of outfits in 2013!

Suz, I am late but so happy to see this outfit:) I agree that the pants in their current form are not perfect BUT can they be tailored? I love them but I do think they are to wide not only at the ankle but also through the leg. This overall look however it quite fab and the color is just knockout on you.
