WIWearing: For my Secret Santa

Sorry to be a forum hog this afternoon, and thank you to all who have replied on my sweater thread and outfit question thread. The Gap sweater came home with me in small. By the way, it itches less when it is looser fitting -- another reason to go with the larger size!

Here, for my Secret Santa, is my outfit for the party today. I am wearing my BR non-iron shirt (I'll try with a white shirt another day - loved that idea) and Bleulab jeans and my beloved Stuart Weitzman booties and my grey INC (thrifted) sequinned tunic.

I'm also wearing the cute zircon earrings that my Santa sent; how did Santa know I needed sparkly earrings??

Over top, my grey puffer (oh, I love this puffer coat) and my brand new cranberry red sparkly scarf, thanks to Santa!

Santa really knows me well; she knows I have a magpie gene and she knows that cranberry red is one of my very favourite colours.

I am so grateful because Santa has made it possible for me to feel festive. My planned holiday outfit fell through because the brocade jeans never arrived, but Santa came to my rescue!

Suz, you look simply huggable in this. Sparkly tunic and scarf are so festive. Santa has rescued you so beautifully!

Very cute Suz, all goes together, and you have a glorious smile. You have REALLY got some cute stuff happening this year with your taupes, grey and now cranberry and sparkly silver... Do you have a large wardrobe or is it getting refined over time? Sounds like with this outfit you are a sparkly bowerbird in the snow

A very pretty and cozy outfit! I hope this doesn't sound creepy, but you have beautiful ears. :)

Suz, This is perfect for a festive winter occasion. The silver sparkle combined with the cranberry pairs beautifully with the jeans and boots. Gorgeous outfit as always!

Absolutely gorgeous Suz - way to go Secret Santa!

I know.....isn't my Secret Santa the BEST?

I'm just back from the party. I was the dressiest person there (yeah, I know) but because of the jeans, not TOO dressy.

Declawed, you are the first person ever to like my ears. They are big, which I always think is not so nice. Although in China this is a positive. And I do like my new earrings!

Jenanded...I actually have a SMALL wardrobe, at least by most people's standards. Not quite as small as Clearly Claire's, but pretty small, still. I am in the process of rebuilding it after significant weight loss and could not afford to do so all at once.

Yay, Secret Santa! Way to add some sparkle to the holiday.

Oh this turned out beautifully Suz. I love the cranberry with the silver and grey. Just gorgeous, and of course those beautiful new boots to cheer your "it's in the mail" orders. You might not have looked exactly the way you'd hoped, but like you said, you were still the dressiest person there and you look like your wonderful, stylish self. Fingers crossed that the patterned jeans arrive in time for the next festive occasion!

You look stunning! Santa sure knew what would make you smile....which of course, is the best accessory of all.

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Gorgeous! I love the cranberry on you and the outfit is just the right mix of sparkle and style.

You look so delightfully festive and shining with joy --- despite the non-appearance of those pesky jeans (which are, dunno about you, now starting to make me a little bit mad x-| ).

What's the gorgeous scarf made of? Is it as warm as its colour suggests?

And may I second what DJ said? Heck, I'll just go the whole hog and say you're very pretty, if you don't mind :-)

Just the right touches of holiday sparkle! Very nice.

Love this outfit but the boots really kick it up a notch.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! So fun and casual, but still festive enought for an event like that! Love your grey sequin tank over the red button down, and love the coordinatig puffer and red sparkly shawl:-)) beautiful earings-you are a luky girl!
One querry, is your tank sequinned on the back too? I do have one similar in taupe/olive:-) but sequinned only on front-is this a deal breaker? I bought it online without realising that, and choose a bigger size for a longer length, but didn't have luck, as seems a bit too loose on me,... now I can really see would have been looking so much better sized down...to be snug enough for making some creases on torso, like on yours...

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Hi, Lyn - my thrifted tank only has sequins on the front. I would prefer it with some on the back, too, but I must admit this probably makes it more comfortable to wear (a bit less like amour?) The wrinkles on the front here are not from tightness...it is a sort of false "ruche" because the tunic itself is rather long for me; I have tried to adjust its length and that made it a bit wrinkly. Up top it has a drape neckline so there are also natural folds there.
