WIW:Still Slouching Around

Now that these trousers are back from Wonder Woman East, it may be tough to get them off me.

Today's version with the Kookai sweater I got at my fave Toronto consignment place. And the amazing belt I got there, too - leather with snakeskin and a really cool buckle. I wlll have to take a closeup photo of it so you can see. It's just a lovely, quality item.

I don't know if the proportions are right with this jacket or not. What sort of a jacket does one wear with these slouchy pants? I tried my waxed cotton moto and it didn't look right to me for some reason.

    Those pants? TDF!

  • RunnerChick replied 11 years ago

Suz, you have such a beautiful smile, you are glowing! The pants are awesome - I am not savvy enough to dispense length-of-jacket advice, but I think you look good with this choice,

  • Caro in Oz replied 11 years ago

TDF & some imo. You look fantastic. Love them with the jacket too. I think you need to try on all your jackets & see how you feel. In my experience one needs to play with a new silhouette for it to become familiar & comfortable.

  • Jules replied 11 years ago

If I could instantly have those exact pants with that fit please? TYVM!
And where is this favourite consignment store, do tell?

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Jules, it's called The Thrill of the Find: http://thrillofthefind.com
    In Leslieville, TO.

So glad I bought the pants. I hesitated....

Caro, you're exactly right. I need to play around and experiment and it might take a few weeks to get comfortable with the new shape.

From one adopter of slouchy pants to another - PERFECT!
I think this jacket looks good with them.

  • Karie replied 11 years ago

I think the length of the jacket you are wearing is perfect, and I love those pants! The fit is fantastic. Do you have any other moto jackets that you could try? I would think that length would work. Or maybe a bomber jacket like in Angie's post today.

  • Joy replied 11 years ago

Suz, you are a living ad for slouchy pants! The sweater looks great,; the booties are perfection and the jacket is looking good. I suspect that it may be best to avoid jackets which have the bottom falling at the widest part of the trousers. Cropped or long (thinking of a riding outfit) may be better. I'd love to see a close up of the beautiful belt.

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Really they are perfection and I love them with the belt and sweater (and boots of course)!

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

    Love those pants!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

OH MY WORD! Gorgeous! Love the trousers of course, love the sweater, love the semi tuck, love the jacket, love the booties - that's a LOT of LOVE!!!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Thank you all so much. I am glad these pants are getting some love here because they got a few LOOKS tonight at my daughter's school holiday party. You know the kind. The "Poor woman, what does she think she is wearing?" looks. Nobody around here has seen this type of style yet, I don't think. It doesn't bother me, but I do find the contrast very interesting and amusing. YLF is its own little world.

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

    Dear Suz:

I SO understand what you mean about the looks. No one in my circle (above 22 or so) wears colored denim or bf jeans, either. I love 'em all, but I need a little dose of YLF to have fun with fashion! FWIW -- this silhouette seems very accessible to me, not at all extreme. And....its marvelous. I think the jacket works. It is maybe a little more "classic" than the pants, but that makes for a nice "eclectic" look here.

So wish I had a pair...............

  • replied 11 years ago

OMgOSH! You look great. I Think those looks were because they all new you were raisng the bar.

  • Kristin SF replied 11 years ago

"Wonder Woman East" - love it! And I agree, I bet the looks were appreciative of your style and nothing else. :-)

  • krishnidoux replied 11 years ago

Suz, I LOOOOVE this on you! Perfect, perfect slouch effect. Love the sweater alone and with the pink top! So stylish and avant-garde!
Don't tell me there is a Kookai in Toronto.

And, don't worry about teenage looks. OMG if I had to fret every time my son gave me one. These girls were probably thinking, Wow, unusual... but cute! or Intersting! Or: How can I do this myself?
You never know, you might have started a trend.4
Please do try the look with jeans too!

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Love your trousers! Do you have a floral scarf? I see it going with this sweater, circling around your neck infinity scarf style. In colors that coordinate with the stripes, which shouldn't be hard, many pretty colors in that one! Add some sunnies, scrunch, and you'll really give them something to talk about.

  • lyn67 replied 11 years ago

YES!!! Love your slouchy trousers! I see you have fun with them and that sweatter is auch gorgeoous:-). Do not mind those looks, your outfit was impecable!!! Just "think different"!:-)

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

    Oh, thank you -

Krish, I will definitely wear the sweater with my slouchy skinny boyfriend jeans. I was wearing them when I bought it so I know that works well. And no - no Kookai in Kingston! I bought it at the Toronto consignment store!

Denise, great idea. Mary K's wonder scarf might work. Then I will have advanced pattern mixing! As for the sunnies...well....um....not for a while, I'm afraid. The weather here is so dark and rainy today that sunnies are almost unimaginable. Not a fun day for the Christmas errands.

  • Raisin replied 11 years ago

I think the proportions work very well! Love these pants yet again today. You'll be wearing these out this winter (a good thing!).

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

KILLER to the power of KILLER. And I don't so that lightly.

This is *it* Suz. In so many ways :). YOUR LOOK.

Your body language is beaming along with your outfit!!!! Enough said.

Now excuse me while I faint.

    *faints*

  • replied 11 years ago

    You look SO FAB!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

I love the way you rock a half tuck! I am so pleased to see so much eye candy in a black and fuchsia outfit! The red and yellow tones add so much depth. I think the fuchsia jacket is genius. Wonderful job Suz!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

    Whoa! Speaking of fainting.....

    Thank you, Angie!!!

That is my second K2K (you see, I treasure them so much) and what a Christmas present!

Well, I guess I will be learning from this one.

Day Vies, not only do you dress brilliantly, but you can out-analyze anybody on what makes an outfit work or not. You are a treasure.

Ali - I have been thinking of you....lots of kitty stuff happening around here.

Rae, you are so right. I'll be wearing these pants a lot.

  • Lisa replied 11 years ago

Great pants! And I like this length of jacket with it. I would stick to the shorter lengths so you are not covering up the trousers. This look really suits you, just lovely!

  • Vicki replied 11 years ago

You're no slouch when it comes to fashion and I love these pants on you. What a perfect fit and slouchy length to boot. I'll have to dig further to learn about WWE. You have the best consignment stores! I'd love to join you someday. Your fuchsia jacket (workhorse on your recent trip abroad, right?) looks great.

  • Atlantia replied 11 years ago

Not a lot of insight...just have to say you look awesome. Your slouchy trousers are superb, and the jacket looks perfect with them.

  • Stuti replied 11 years ago

    I love that sweater Suz.
    Pants are gorgeous.

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

LOL, Suz. I loved your comment about the holiday party. I totally understand why people would give you the looks. When I wore my red Reitman's jeans to work the first time, I got those looks too. Like BethAnn said, I haven't seen anyone older than 20 wearing coloured denim or bf jeans either. Actually, I saw a lady at work the other day wearing cobalt blue denim but that is it.
I love this look on you. i have been absent from the forum in past few weeks so I must have missed your thread about these pants before. Whatever alterations you made are working wonders.

  • MNsara replied 11 years ago

Well, I missed the pre-alterations trouser talk, but they sure look awesome today!!

I love the whole outfit! I think you found a nice jacket right there. With slouchy trousers, it changes the game, and you don't want a long jacket to cover up your waist definition. You don't want a blousy jacket to make you feel roomy from top to bottom. I think the shrunken fitted blazer is fab :-)

and your new booties are adding a lovely high end, classic touch.

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

Suz, I just poked my head in to see what others had to say about this lovely outfit of yours and noticed your post. Thank you for such a lovely complement. It truly warms my heart!
