WTW: Weekend options

Apologies for being a forum hog. I need to pack pretty soon, and still feel a bit concerned that I haven't really nailed outfits for my presentation and more casual evening.

Constraints: Weather is going to be cool and cloudy, possibly rainy.
Situation: casual, with most people probably wearing gear or denim, especially in the daytime. I will be part of a panel.

On Saturday, I can't go back to change so have to bring a "quick change" option with me and tote it around and then go out for a relatively casual supper.

Here are a few possibilities, none of which I am feeling wonderful about.

#1: possible for presentation day -- jeans could be switched out for VC skirt for evening supper. But I fear the jacket reads too feminine.

2/3/4/5  possibles for presentation day

all of which easily transition into: #6/#7 for nighttime relatively casual dinner.

#8-10 possibles for second day when it may be sunny, I am not presenting, but I will be interviewing clients. My goal is to seem approachable and reassuring that day. If the weather's fine we may go outdoors for these interviews.

Would love your thoughts.

In general, I think for Saturday daytime (presentation) I want something relatively casual but with a structured element (sleeves, a jacket, something tailored, I guess -- for when I am sitting at the table on a podium). I also need to be able to change reasonably easily into something that will work for night.

Why is it a problem if the jacket reads too feminine? You won't fit in with the gear heads? I like 1 the best, followed by 4.

For the second day, any of them (8 and 9 slight preference). Love the Hi-Nesses with the white jeans!

You certainly can't go wrong with any of these. My first go through favorites were 5/6/7 for Saturday and 9 for the second day. I love your kitty blouse!

    # 3, any of the cobalt outfits, and the white jeans with cobalt sweater.

Talk about tough calls. I am going to say #4 for the presentation, I love the blue skirt outfit (with and without topper) for dinner. #9 for meeting clients day. Please don't ask me to explain those choices though!

    All KILLER outfits!

How are we going to choose? :)

I like #1 and #4 best for casual presentations since you want to wear a jacket. Ahem, men wear florals.

#2 and #6 really rock my world too.

And you look most huggable in #9 and #10!

You can't go wrong with any of these. For the first day, if you want a jacket I like 4 then 1. My favorite for the event is probably 2, but it may not work with a jacket.
All the white jeans outfits are so fab. The most approachable to me is the last one. The print is a real conversation starter.

You are all so sweet. You're helping me calm down. It doesn't help that it is pouring rain here now; all I can think is how will I manage in all the wet? But of course tomorrow will be different.

I am going to stuff a whole lot of things in the suitcase and see what the weather brings -- will choose between options. Luckily I am a good packer!

so glad you are stepping back from the edge.  you are spoilt for choices.   after you gauge the crowd , having options will also help you have something that is bound to be appropriate and "suz-like" to give you that extra zing.

you will wow everyone!  i like the floral jacket for the 2nd day when you are interviewing people.  it makes you more approachable and may put people at ease--although you do that naturally.

It's so hard to choose, you look fantastic in all of these! I like #1 the best, and either #9 or #10 for the second day.

Love everything! You're going to be great : )

I love them all - just choose what you feel best in - they are all fab. For the "approachable & reassuring " look you can't go past #9 imo. No one would be able to resist you Suz :) :)

I like #2, #4, #6 and #10 the most but all of these are pretty fantastic Suz. The only thing I'm uncertain about is the belt in #1 with the jacket. I don't mind the shoes because it's farther away but something about those two patterns right next to each other is not doing it for me. I esp. like #10 if you were doing interviews outdoors because it looks summery and happy AND comfortable.

    AIYEE!!  Kitty blouse with leopard!!!

    *plonk*

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

    I love them all, but I really go for #1, 2, 6/7.

#3-5 and 8-10, I think I feel you look more part of the crowd than a presenter.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Thanks, Rachylou - I agree with that assessment. Well, I've got a pile of stuff in the suitcase, and I will pull it forth as seems fit tomorrow!

    Thanks again, all!

In service of succinctness, the only one that is not a very high number for me is number 5, as the topper over the blouse suddenly made you feel "walled off" as I was going through the photos.  You are wanting this weekend to be about connections and I thought it might be relevant. It might just be that it is a bit dark and heavy, covering that happy blouse.

    Have a great time!
