Zippered tweed and wide legs

On my way to Vancouver for a few days. Wearing my version of today’s formula with zippered tweed, not as cropped as the example but fitted, and full length wide legs.

These are cropped on the model. ;)

On me they are longer than the new full length! But not truly floor sweeping. Still, too long for sneakers. Will need a platform sole of an inch.

Also pattern mixing! And wearing the thrifted leather coat to emphasize the 70s vibe.

Plus, notice the new bag!

ETA Finds added.

Jeans are Paige

Bag is the gift of an extremely generous and Fab friend whose first name happens to begin with the letter "A." :)  I do not yet have a Find for it. But it is. lovely Furla satchel with crossbody strap (and a fun guitar strap that I also love.)

Woof, this is EXACTLY what I love about a modern tweed look - the starkness of the dark denim, the classic Breton tee, and the lady-like details and trim on the jacket!

    So French!

  • kkards replied 1 year ago

Gosh this is fab!  Perfect length on the pants.

And the bag is fab! I love a bag with a crossbody and a top handle.

  • Runcarla replied 1 year ago

A+!  A perfect blend of sophistication and nonchalance! Agree with Roberta that there is a French vibe.

    Have a great weekend, Suz!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

KILLER all round. Each rendition is fab in its own way!

You are ROCKING those wide leg jeans, Suz! Legs super long! Very different vibe after years of crops, don't you think? - which I still enjoy wearing!

How did you live before the white boots ....

Loving both toppers, and the '70s vibe is elegant! Chic on you.

And the fab Signature-Suz-Pattern Mix nails it every time!

    Welcome to Team Furla ;)

Oh my, wide legs never looked so good. Love the stripes and tweed together. A wonderful 70’s inspired look and of course that fab bag too.

  • Bonnie replied 1 year ago

    That outfit is so good!!!

  • LJP replied 1 year ago

Really nice ! I actually like these jeans this long ! What are they ? And I can’t see much of the purse - but look forward to hearing more :)

  • Kyle replied 1 year ago

Wonderful! Love the jeans and the overall vibe you’ve created, especially without the scarf in #2. Very crisp and modern.

  • Janet replied 1 year ago

GREAT look! I love the full-length wide pants on you, and that trench is just too fab.

  • Kate replied 1 year ago

Wow! Now that's the way to wear tweed. Top to bottom perfection.

  • Indigoprint replied 1 year ago

    Well done. Looks really current.

  • replied 1 year ago

Pretty! Love how you styled the tweed :)

  • Brooklyn replied 1 year ago

    Wow!

  • AJ replied 1 year ago

Looking good, Suz! Love those jeans on you! The leather coat is a jackpot find!

  • BlueJay replied 1 year ago

Loving all the pattern mixing and great jeans!

  • Tanya replied 1 year ago

Love everything about this! Those jeans are stunning on you, and the outfit combo works so well. Love the bag, too, of course.

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Tanya, thank.you so much. And yes, isn't that bag beautiful! Such a lovely plump little pet. :) A beautiful rich navy, too.

Bluejay, Brooklyn, Nikki, Indigoprint, Kate. ---thank you!

Janet, aren't the pants fab? I find it hilarious that what is cropped on the model is full length on me. But hey -- I did not have to hem them! Miracle!

Kyle, thank you. That scarf has the best print ever and it really comes into its own in this cool transitional spring weather.

Lisa, the jeans are Paige. They have a very dramatic wide leg, which I love. I can wear them with heels, too, and with a heel they are closer to the new full length (no break, more shoe showing.)

    Bonnie, Dee, thank you!

Angie, thank you! I am loving the new full length jeans! I adore crops, too, so it's not either/ or. It's just really fun to wear full length again and especially fun that I did not have to hem them! I am going to look for wide leg crops as well. The last ones I had were in no way as good as these in terms of fit and comfort or even the width of the leg, so I passed them on a few years ago. I'm ready to try them again for summer.

Carla, kkards, Roberta -- thank you! It was fun to wear the outfit of the day!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Yay, Suz! Wide crops are one of my faves of all time! I've noticed that I like them quite wide - so maybe you will too. And we love and wear all pant lengths at this stage ;)

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Yes, Angie -- I think the width and where they flare out is pretty important. I also think the newer pants with the darts at the waist feel and fit better.

  • replied 1 year ago

This is great! Love the jeans especially!

  • Lana replied 1 year ago

Love the jeans! They seem to fit well in the hips then become wide which is nice.

  • slim cat replied 1 year ago

Just perfect ( and there is a kitty ;-)  )!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 1 year ago

Nicely done, Suz! Those jeans are the bomb on you.

  • Bijou replied 1 year ago

Those jeans!! I love this look on you.

  • ANewMindset replied 1 year ago

I love this look!!! You look great!!

  • Olive Green replied 1 year ago

Looks perfect for urban anything. Surprised that the neutrals look so good, after associating you with colour and contrast!

  • Star replied 1 year ago

Great outfit!  Love the casualness of the breton T under the jacket.  The belt and the boots add the perfect amount of additional interest.  The jeans are a very good fit.  YLF!

  • Irina replied 1 year ago

You look so confident and comfortable in this outfit. The pattern mixing is indeed your signature! Great look!

  • Janet replied 1 year ago

Oh, and the bag looks sweet from what I can see — what a wonderful generous gift!

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

An incredibly generous gift. I am enjoying it, too. It is a change from carrying a backpack for sure, LOL! I feel like a grown up for a change. At 60 plus.

Hey, I got carded in Seattle -- that seems to be a thing there. For all ages.

Olivegreen, that is interesting. you associate me with colour. I do love colour, but honestly, mostly I wear blue and white with some grey. If you looked in my closet you would see waves of blues. Blue is both neutral (navy/ denim) AND colour (brighter blues) in my closet! So this is pretty typical for me.

Sharan, Bijou, Suntiger, Dee, Slim cat, Lana, ANewMindset, Star -- thank you!

  • approprio replied 1 year ago

Suz, you are a sight for sore eyes. Love the jeans with the white boots.

  • Style Fan replied 1 year ago

Suz, those jeans are gorgeous on you.  I love the way you have styled them.  Beautiful.

  • LJP replied 1 year ago

Every time you post that scarf I am hit with regret for passing on the top I had in that print . I honestly can’t remember why I didn’t like it.

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Lisa, I really wish I still had the blouse, too!! I let it go because of the style (it was kind of long on me, TBH) -- too much of a tunic and too long even for that. But I mean, I could easily have had it hemmed, for heaven's sake. I really liked it otherwise! It was poly, so maybe its wearable season was also too short in Ontario (or Winnipeg) -- that would be an issue. On the west coast it would work longer.

I wonder if Janet still has the short sleeved or sleeveless top in the same print. We should write to H&M and tell them to make it again. It's quite versatile, too -- works with burgundy, lavender and lilac, earth tones (because of the gold), white, navy, most other blues.

Style Fan, Approprio, Cardiff Girl, Helena -- thanks!

  • LJP replied 1 year ago

I had the short sleeved version .

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Right. Maybe it was the sleeve style...I just wish I hadn't been so quick to donate that. And glad I kept the scarf.

  • Jaime replied 1 year ago

Love the wide jeans on you and just right with the tweed jacket!

  • JP replied 1 year ago

Wow!! Perfection. I really like the wide leg jeans and so happy to see the longer length on you.

  • Jonesy replied 1 year ago

Beautiful texture and pattern mix, fabulous silhouette (those jeans are amazing!), and delightful, special new Furla bag from the Handbag Fairy :). You look wonderful, Suz!

  • Gail replied 1 year ago

    Love it all !!

  • CocoLion replied 1 year ago

    Stunning in every way!

  • Beth Ann replied 1 year ago

So glad to see this!  I've been working to create new silhouettes with wider leg pants and I've been struggling a bit. It's nice to see it done so well on the forum!

I'm encourage to see you wearing the jeans with rounded toe boots -- I keep thinking I must choose pointed or almond toes, but your white boots look great! (And I've been eyeing that Breton top for a month on J. Crew's website).

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Beth Ann, thank you -- so nice to see you post! I'd love to see your developing outfits with wider legs! They'd look glam on you.

The boots actually have a square toe, not round -- but I do wear with rounded or almond toes, too. And I'll also wear with sandals when the weather warms up. I don't think you need a pointed toe for these. They do work with pointed boots but a chunkier boot with a bit of a platform (or a flatform sandal or espadrille) gives it a 70s or a 90s retro vibe that works, to my eye.

Thanks, CocoLion -- so good to see you post! And Gail, Jonesy, JP, Jaime!

  • CarolS replied 1 year ago

Gorgeous. I love, love, love those jeans on you.

  • Laurie replied 1 year ago

Late to this party, but must say that you look just wonderful, Suz! You pull off wide leg jeans every time. Such a creative and fun look.
