Happy New Year! A Study in Silver and Blue

I was inspired by yesterday's weather -- a rare clear, bright, snowy day on the west coast! And today, I have an outing. Very tiny (6). In a friend's home. All are triple vaxxed except me (I'm still waiting for my 3rd shot).

Wearing old Club Monaco silvery sweater with a blue top underneath, blue BR slim wide legs, silver Blondo booties, silver earrings and jewellery. It's still a struggle to get enough light here for photos.

I'll wear my blue puffer and my pewter bag when I leave the house!

Happy New Year to all, and may it be a better year than 2021.

Happy New Year Suz. Love your outfit!
Everything is so congruent (is that the word?). Brilliant bookending the boots with your hair.

Stunningly beautiful, both you and the day. This is the Snow Queen off duty, icy metallics are gorgeous on you.

Looks beautiful, Suz! These are your colors and the shape of the outfit is contemporary and flattering. Glad you had a chance to meet up with friends. We had to do a “driveway gift exchange “ again this Christmas
    :(

Happy NewYear, Suz.  Blue and silver look stunning on you.  That is a pretty winter scene but would be hard to navigate on a bicycle.

I shall live vicariously through your silver outfit & accessories, since I look like death in silver - but it suits *you* to a tee! Added bonus - they can reflect light off the snow, so you blend in tonally but without going completely unseen by oncoming traffic :D (Disclaimer: I have no idea if this is an actual issue in the snow - it's been so long, lol!)

I like the texture of the jumper against the shine of the earrings - is it meant to be a particular shape, or just abstract? They're lovely either way :)

Wow, Suz -- I can't add much new here, but will echo the sentiment that you are the queen of silver!

Thanks, all. We had a great time! It was so good to get together with a few friends. The small things we appreciate nowadays, right?

On the minus side, we picked up our child at the ferry after the lunch (they had been off-Island for a few days) and they have Covid symptoms! First rapid test negative. They are self-isolating now....

At least we got our moment of fun before that happened and didn't have to cancel.

Zaeobi, good question about the earrings. They are by an Indigenous designer named Warren Steven Scott and related to the traditional imagery of his culture. https://www.comrags.com/collec.....ngs-mirror

I live in Coast Salish territory, so they were a gift to myself when we moved here.

Silver loves you- but you can keep all that white stuff :) Happy New Year!

  • Zaeobi replied 2 years ago

Ooh interesting, a lovely modern rendition of the symbols then. I'll admit that I don't know much about the indigenous peoples of North America, but it's nice to see folk spreading their culture through meaningful art :)

Gorgeous! Silver is your colour. Like Zaeobi, I will enjoy it vicariously through you.

Would love to know what lipstick you are wearing :)

    Great outfit, love the sweater!

I always love a metallic shine outfit! Silver-and blue- are your colors-and love those earings-hair is fab, too-and to me all these make up for a subtle artsy/avantgarde/edge.

You look like outside and sunshine!  I agree, silver is your color!

I hope your family member is feeling better soon <3

  • Suz replied 2 years ago

Helena and Brooklyn, the lipstick is just Clinique Chubby Stick in Broadest Berry with a layer of their Black Honey over top. :)

  • Mainelady replied 2 years ago

Oh yes! Stunning silver shimmer and shine from head to toe!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 2 years ago

This is just so gorgeous, Suz. Thanks for the closeups of those fab earrings. You look beautiful! Happy New Year!

  • Brooklyn replied 2 years ago

Thanks Suz. I’ve used black honey in the past. I will check out broadest berry.

  • columbine(erin) replied 2 years ago

So lovely, silver suits you! I hope everyone stays well :)

Perfect for this time of year & with your hair! Love the inspo pic too, and as for lighting, #3 is by far the best.
You and I wear a lot of the same colors well, so this has me thinking about silver now too. I had thought my hair was becoming “extreme blonde” but when I called it “gold” last week, my friend corrected me, saying we can call it silver. Maybe I should follow your lead here.

  • Dana replied 2 years ago

Beautiful! Your outfit is the perfect combination of elegant, casual, stylish and wintry. And the snow pic is just lovely, too. Happy New Year!
