Neutral WIW (and Blue on blue what I didn't wear)

Just a quick WIW with new red shoes -- breaking them in at home. I was supposed to be working for a client today but they have not submitted their project for review, so instead I am doing at-home errands like changing the litter box and packaging stuff to mail. (Fun, right?) New Everlane shirt, older BR sweater and last year's Everlane utility barrel jeans. So soft and comfy in this summer weight fabric!

What I didn't wear to a book launch last week. Well, in truth I wore the column of blue but I had to switch out my blue leather jacket for a puffer coat because it was SO COLD!!!

KILLER Luminous Garçon Look in #1! SOOOO stinking cute :)

I love the way the Mary Janes add a pretty touch to the "boyish vibe" - as opposed to wearing your chunky loafers, IYKWIM.

White and grey - AND RED! - are perfect with your silver hair!

The column of blue is FABULOUS, and waiting to be worn. Wear it in London?

You look amazing SUZ in these spring trendy colors - white, light gray and red Mary Janes. Love the color combo.

Angie, I am waffling about what outerwear/ jackets to bring. SO tricky to pack at this time of year. I'll be watching the forecast like a hawk. I've got a list of "maybe to bring" items in Finds but keep swapping them out! https://youlookfab.com/finds/c.....tion=13872

Might start a separate thread about that in a few days.

Suz, maybe bring a jacket you can layer under a coat? (It might work with what you've put together in the travel capsule). I found it very useful to layer this red jacket under my tan trench coat on a recent trip where the weather was all over the place. It provided ample warmth and rain protection (hood!!!) on cold evenings and mornings, and I could switch between the single layers throughout the trip too.

Sometimes I watch the London street style videos from this site.  (A kind of ASMR!)  The temperature is often posted in the lower left hand corner.  It might give you some ideas.

PS: I note lots of column of colour, and unique ‘wildcard’ toppers seem to catch the videographers eye.

PS: what Angie wrote.  I wore a leather moto under a trench for a trip to Ireland and England (month of April).  Could combine for warmth and wind protection or wear separately as needed.  Another time a blazer, puffer and trench. (2 weeks in May).

Two great outfits, Suz. Wow! I really love the white and gray outfit with the red shoes--and had a similar reaction to Angie, enjoying the pretty touch of the Mary Janes with the boyish look.

Two fab outfits!  Of course I love the at home outfit - grey might be my middle name.  But the other one really sets off your silvery hair.

We’re getting whiplash here from the weather - a dusting of snow last Sunday to s forecasted high of 87F this next Sunday!

Such darling red shoes and they work wonderfully with this combo. Do you wear special insoles in them? I can’t wear flats without some arch support now.
The blue outfit is Uber sleek, love the wide legs combined with the cropped moto, beautifully accessorized too.

Dee, I'm not sure I'll be able to wear the shoes without an insole. If I need one, I'll use a thin Superfeet insole. It does fit into the shoe. (I tested before removing the tags.) For now, though, they seem to be working well. Although called flats, they actually have a small (very small) heel, which you can see in the side view photo in my Finds. A complete flat is a complete NO for me, as well.  I would never try a flat sandal, for instance. And I typically wear insoles in sneakers and other flats. The exceptions are my white Cole Haan oxfords, which seem fantastic without an insole. Again, there is a very slight lift on the shoe - it is not totally flat. I worried last year that this shoes might aggravate my plantar fasciitis, but it is honestly the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I bought a second pair to have one in reserve. I also bought a slight variation in grey -- but for that one, I do use a Superfeet insole!! And a platform version in navy, which took some breaking in, but is now extremely comfortable sans extra insole.

Angie, Carla -- yes, I will definitely aim to layer coats over jacket while away. It is  just a question of which jacket weight to bring. And Carla, thanks for the links. I have been watching those videos and getting a sense of the weather from them. At least from the recent ones.

Thanks, Sharan and JAileen! I am enjoying the red shoes so far.

Both excellent outfits! Love your new Everlane vertically striped shirt. Looking forward to hearing more about your travel capsule. You have many great options.

Two fab outfits but I especially enjoyed the first one with your new haircut and pizazzy red shoes.

  • Bijou replied 1 week ago

Like Jaime, I really noticed the difference your new haircut makes - it showcases your eyes. Both are brilliant outfits the red accent really pops in both of these, hopefully the weather warms up so you can wear that fab blue moto.

My travel wardrobe is going to more red, white, and blue from black. You look amazing.

  • Sal replied 1 week ago

Oh these are both wonderful looks Suz.  I think the red shoes are surprising in the very best way in outfit one, they provide a real spark.  Pleased they are comfortable too.

And 2 is just so good on you, very true to your style - modern with a bit of fun.  And the hair looks great.

Maybe you will feature on the London style blogs....

I love the neutrals and the blues, Stylish Suz!

  • RobinF replied 1 week ago

Great outfits! Those red shoes look so soft and luxurious! Love the pop. Also the red bag. Will you wear them together?

  • Joy replied 1 week ago

Carla, I did the same thing in Ireland, I wore two coats for the cold and wind and removed one when it felt warm enough. A small puffer jacket under a long trench. I removed the puffer coat. It had crushed down to fit.

  • lyn67 replied 1 week ago

Wow, love the spunky red shoes to the low contrast neutral outfit! Nr 2 was great even if worn under a puffer! My god, I feel for your colds there! Here is switching slowly to summer already ---with all the ease in it's mornings and evenings...

  • Suntiger replied 1 week ago

I like the second outfit especially! Would be good with the red shoes too!
