White shirt

There's nothing new here at all but I am trying to post an outfit once in a while just for the joy of getting dressed again in real clothes!

Here I am layering a button front white shirt and braving yesterday's PNW atmospheric river to dine at the Legislature. Yes! Who knew you could do that? Not me. My reporter friend from out of town had to reveal this well-kept secret.

This shirt is of the soft rather than crisp variety. (I like both). This one doesn't need ironing but is all cotton, which is a treat if you are travelling.

I love white with my silver hair and love patterns with white in them. In fact, I've stopped buying any pattern that does not include a bit of white or very pale grey or blue or silver. One reason this scarf works well for me is the white.

I got my hair cut last week and am back to classic pixie while I consider next steps. That meant shorter back and around the ears and even a shorter fringe while we aim for a bit more length on top over time.

Looking KILLER gorgeous as always, Suz - and with a fresh snazzy silver chop! Pixie yumminess! I miss the neatness of mine.......

YES to you wearing white so well. Gorgeous with your hair! Burgundy is fab on you too :)

love the pop of white with the deeper darker colors. and that dark deep red is fab

Makes sense about the colors, I need to check that out for myself. I like warmer shades but think now with my gray hair I need to review that.

Love your outfit, that red is fabulous on you.

Beautiful hair and beautiful outfit Suz.
    You look amazing.

You are the poster child for the classic pixie!  This is a new combination, that looks fresh and current.  I spy Blundstones!

The burgundy is gorgeous on you, Suz.  Fab outfit.  White shirts are so versatile.

Looks great all together! I'm on the same boat with preference for white color in the patterns that I favor - white is my light neutral ;) .

Gorgeous , love the entire outfit.

You look great.  I hope you had a good visit.  That is a good clue about colors and silver white hair.  My hair is long again and pulled back for laziness.  It is getting warmer but the cold will be back soon.  It would look warmer without all the snow.

Beautiful! I love these colors on you and the proportions look very chic! The scarf does indeed look fab with your hair :).

Your haircut is adorable, and what a great “ styled” outfit! I’ve recently done some home tryons because I’ve just about forgotten how to dress for leaving the house.
I too look for prints or stripes with a bit of light color against dark or medium background; for me it’s often not optic white that works best, but the pearl gray, silver, very pale blue, lavender or cool blush( pale mauve).
Very dark solid burgundies and plums and navy are about too dark for my changing coloring now ( as face colors), but work as the background color if the light bits are added.

Fabulous Suz. Every single thing is perfect.

Great hair, great outfit! I like a soft blouse myself :)

    Gorgeous colors on you.

Yes to wearing white with silver hair, and the berry/burgundy looks amazing on you! Nice to see you too!

You look positively regal in this combination - elegantly warm. Fitting for the setting :)

You've got me thinking about your brilliant matching colours to hair - I've been going grey since I was 16 but, once it comes in stronger, I'll likely have to abandon my really dark colours in favour of slightly lighter ones. Oh well, that's (likely?) a little ways off still - will enjoy the lighter tones on you for now ;)

This is a wonderful strategy regarding patterns and something that I would like to adopt because when I think about my favourite patterns, they do have a light colour in the mix.

You look sensational in this outfit.

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

I just love your scarf. The whole outfit and you look elegant and ready to go out someplace wonderful.

What a beautiful look! Those colors are so flattering; you are practically glowing.

  • Suz replied 2 years ago

Thank you, everyone. The lunch (harissa salmon with veg) was really tasty!

Zaeobi, I still wear my darks (navy, charcoal and a bit of black, plus dark burgundy.) And they still work! I think yours may work for you, as well. But if I'm adding a pattern, I like it to include a bit of the hair colour. And you might find you want to do that a bit more in outfits to make your hair coherent with the rest of you, so to speak. But that should be a long way off.

@ Suz - I’m going to think more about picking up hair colour in patterns going forward.  Now I recognize why leopard print (with light beige) or my two floral items (with golden beige) work so well for me!

Just beautiful, Suz-high five for your outfit and new hair, too!!! A patterned scarf can always add sass to an otherwise simple, clean modern classic outfit! &Yessss, for Carla above- I also collect prints with tan/taupe/beiges in them for that exact reason(am a lighter blonde now) but I love a bit of white in them, too-as have highlights!:-)

  • Zaeobi replied 2 years ago

@Suz That's good to know, thanks for filling me in :) YLF in the white book'ending' prints!

Right now my greys are mostly concentrated to my temples but once they spread (& I ditch the henna dye accordingly), I shall keep your wise advice in mind :)

Gorgeous haircut, and the colors in your outfit look wonderful with your hair color.
