I don't have a photo with the coat, but here's what I wore yesterday...it was fun to try whiteout in winter! Inside I wore it with the loafers, of course.

Gorgeous! Love that top especially!

Beautiful and polished! I think the Cat is beautiful also. You have probably told her/his name but would you mind repeating it.

Oh my gosh, this looks so good with the white streaks in your hair. LOVE it.

WHERE have those white boots been all your life ;)

What can I say, it’s all terrific, I’m myself would be terrified wearing all white, I just can’t seem to avoid getting something on it.

Love! You wear this so well. If I were not so averse to white on my lower half, this is how I’d do a white-out! That top is tempting but the reviews were less than promising. What do you think of it?

Stunning, Suz, just stunning! Looks elegant, fresh and effortless.
Great contemporary look! Love! -

Awww, thanks all, and a special shout out to Angie, who especially recommended this top.
My verdict -- it's great! But it is NOT for anyone who lives in a hot climate. It is made of that polyester stuff my grandma's housecoats were made out of and it is super warm and a bit weird (because, you know, full on poly, and I think of my grandma when I put it on), but it's also nice, because it is very lightweight and of course WASHABLE. I love the jacquard textured effect -- it gives it interest. The collar can be worn as a sort of cowl or it can be folded into a funnel neck but it would not be pleasant for anyone who does not like a high neck. Also, it's a batwing style so you have to be okay with a lot of volume in that underarm area. I happen to adore the cut -- it's simple but dramatic.
Dee, I seem okay in white as long as I choose unprecious fabrics like denim or this top or a cotton shirt. Which is not to say that accidents never happen but it's actually a lot rarer than I would imagine. Tomato spatters while cooking, occasionally, is the main risk for me.
Angie, you are so right. Where have those boots been? They are great! I will get a lot more wear from my white jeans this winter, just like that! But I also like them with darker bottoms, to my surprise. I thought I'd feel too "cut off" and short legged, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I think the square toe helps.
Sarah, Jaime, Helena, Sal -- thanks. As my mother got older and her hair got whiter, she looked better and better in white.
Bridgie, you are so sweet. The cat's name is Max and he IS a beauty. Also a bit of a character.

I don't think you could look more cool. I have been watching this site and your hair is so awesome. I'm looking forward to growing into my silver soon.

I love the white out on you. My hair also gets whiter ( and finer) as I get older. Whites in mixed shades is my go-to. I just recently bought white snow boots and wore them today to go walking. They are warm and cozy and look great with my white puffer coat. I want to order the sweatshirt but it gone in any size I could possibly wear. Does it fit true to size? Does it shrink in the dryer? It looks more polished than most sweatshirts.

Joy, thank you. And you'd look amazing in this sweatshirt. It fits TTS, for sure. I got my usual XS and it is generous. Maybe if you set a watch it might come back in stock.
My hair is overall thick but I have noticed what seems to be one patch at the hairline thinning out. Hmmm.
Marija, Karie -- thank you.

Really nice and different ! That is such a great top too .

Love the way the texture elevates that top. Your outfit colours match Max too ;)
PS - Not to be an enabler but, if you envision those boots really working for you in the long-term & are otherwise difficult to find (in the right colour/ height/ comfort/ durability), I'd recommend buying a backup pair :D

Love the texture of that top and this whole idea. I tend to think of winter white as ethereal, very dressy, and for special occasions. Now after seeing your post, I might try it myself.
Also—you look fab. I actually prefer the loafer version, though it’s probably not warm enough to wear outside right now. -

Thanks for the shout-out, Suz!
I suspect what's not making you feel "cut-off" when you wear white high contrast boots with dark bottoms in their high shaft and substantial sole. Details make the difference!
-
RobinF replied 1 year ago
Love this! The all white works out amazingly well. I also love that sweatshirt.
-
Suz replied 1 year ago
Thank you, all. Angie, you are exactly right. The higher shaft and the more substantial sole make me feel a bit "lifted" off the ground and it helps almost the way a heel would to prevent that "cut off" feeling. Interesting...
Now that I have these, I can also see myself looking for more light bottoms year round. Not just white, but maybe soft ecru, a pale grey, or even light taupe, or a pattern that includes some of these.
Cee, I was worried I'd give you heart failure -- the collar is awfully close to a COWL neck!
OliveGreen, I hope you like the top, and hope it likes you back!
Stag, you could absolutely do this with your own white boots, white jeans, and a white or cream or similar top plus your navy coat! It would look great on you and would work really well. The only thing I might say is that if you are riding transit or your bike it might not be the best -- but as you know, jeans are easily washable.
Zaeobi -- tempting idea but I think I'll keep myself to one pair...they are waterproof so should last me pretty well.
Kkards, right? You paved the way -- I should have listened to you. I saw how much you wear your various white boots....duh...
Robin, Minaminu, Suntiger, Kyle, Carol, Star, Lisa -- thank you!

Late to this party, but want to agree that it's totally FAB! Your top is such a good example of how small details make things more current; the looser neck, batwing sleeves, and washable fabric! The whole outfit is gorgeous.
