Some of you know that Rae and I are cat twins. Her Hank and my Max look like brothers.
Max was mysteriously ill a few weeks ago. We thought we were going to lose him. Then, just as mysteriously, he recovered.
So when Rae posted this amazing Equipment shirt printed with Siamese, I allowed myself a big splurge.
Claudia kindly helped me to get the shirt by ordering it from Nordstrom's. Canadians take note: despite the fact that it was labeled a gift, I had to pay taxes on it. Don't ask me why. This seems totally random. The Petty booties I'm wearing came the same way, with no extra taxes. Ditto my Leith pants.
But it doesn't matter. This blouse was worth any amount of money to me. And since I am firmly on Team Wear, here it is.
Shamelessly copying Rae:
Equipment Adriana shirt.
Gap Really Skinny Jeans.
SE Petty booties.
Theory trench
Sunnies (cheap unknown brand)
Danier black and white bag, new.
Thanks to Rae and Claudia for inspiration and help!!

-
rae replied 11 years agoYahoo! That shirt is all kinds of amazing on you, and of course I love the styling as well. I have to let Hank know that he is no longer the only one in the house with a "Siamese twin." >^..^<
-
Ginkgo replied 11 years agoLove this look, and isn't it fab that you got the Petty booties -- they amp up everything they're paired with.

Beautiful :)
Love it Suz :)
Regarding taxes well few expats here cut the intended tags before sending it to Norway
Like how we would get it done for gifts. Just remove the price :)
Always worked ;) -
Suz replied 11 years agoHahahahah! Rae, hilarious!!!
I LOVE this shirt. I fear I may have an Equipment addiction sort of like my Danier addiction. This could get expensive. -
Astrid replied 11 years agoI LOVE this, Suz! I don't have a pet myself, but I want one. You look fabulous in this shirt, that it has Siamese on it is a big bonus point and so much fun.
-
Ingunn replied 11 years agoOh, Equipment is addictive, I'm sure! This is beyond fab. It is a gorgeous shirt, and how fitting (pun intended) that it now belongs to both Rae and you. I have a cat, too, but he is not as elegant as yours, I'm afraid, more of the homey cozy kind. Maybe I have to get myself a Hello Kitty shirt, then?
-
Angie replied 11 years agoWow!
KILLER. You look fresh, modern, playful and no-nonsense.
Part of me wants to tuck in your shirt!!! Is that crazy?
-
Glory replied 11 years agoI love the shirt, and I love the story as well. I am finding the tax thing pretty strange indeed - a gift isn't up for tax unless way over the limit. Go figure. But still worth it - and bonus - another KILLER from Angie :)
-
MsMary replied 11 years agoSO FAB!!!
*plonk* -
MsMary replied 11 years agoAnd oh my gosh! I just found one on eBay for $119 and it's on its way to me!! Woo hoo!!
-
Mona replied 11 years agoThis is soooo you, Suz. I have been a secret admirer of equipment blouses but don't own any due to their high price point. I am also totally in love with your danier bag. Love the black and white contrast.
-
AJ replied 11 years agoWho knew that cat and snake could look so FAB together?! Luv everything about this outfit. Playful yet polished. A new Danier bag? Oooohhh, addiction taken to new levels. :)
-
Transcona Shannon replied 11 years agoWait a minute...you bought a new Danier handbag and didn't even TELL us about it???? Love the bag Suz - white with black trim - gorgeous.
Now the outfit - that blouse is fab on you and love it bookended with the python booties. I would imagine it will look great with your white jeans too? and with your Leith trousers? -
Eliza replied 11 years ago
Beautiful. Those are very sophisticated cats and it's so you. Love the bag and the trench and think it would be cool to see the blouse with white pants as well.
Enjoy this tribute to Max's recovery.
-
replied 11 years agoAwesomeness. I gotta show this to little Zap. She's your third cat twinnie, same blouse!
-
Diana replied 11 years agoLove this! =)
-
deb replied 11 years agoSo very cute! I miss my cats!
-
rae replied 11 years agoSuz, I hear you on the addiction. This is my second Equipment, and I have to say it is much better than the Nexx blouses and so much easier to clean. I will be in trouble if they keep coming out with kitty prints, lol.
Zap, that is too fun! Great minds must think alike. :) -
Thistle replied 11 years agoSo cute and so you!!
-
pil replied 11 years agoI love this! ust the right amount of whimsy.
-
Sylvie replied 11 years agoSo beautiful! I have a bit of an Equipment shirt thing going on too (though I only own one)
-
Suz replied 11 years agoOooh - little Zap is a twinnie, too! Yay!
Eliza, Ingunn, Shannon, absolutely - I have plans for the white jeans and the Leith trousers and this blouse. You can bet that Angie's outfit this morning was another inspiration.
AJ, Shannon -- you are right -- things are bad when the addict sneaks her fix! Oh dear. Actually, hubs bought this one for me when he bought his jackets. It was on super duper sale so cost less than my last non-leather bag.
Thank you, Mona! They don't have that bag at "our" Danier. Hubs got it in Toronto. (Well, I was there, too, but he bought it for me.)
Mary - yay! We will be triplets (or quadruplets.) Rae got hers from ebay, too. But then they were sold out of xs, so I had to order from Nordies, Then I noticed the xs came back into stock there.
Glory, you and I can scratch our heads together on this one. Who can figure?
Angie, thank you! And no, it is not at all crazy to suggest tucking. I need the right belt, however. :-) Actually, today I just wanted to do exactly what Rae did except for shoes.
Ingunn, no Hello Kitty for you. It has to be something in your kitty's beautiful colours.
Thanks Diana, Astrid, Ceit, Ramya (esp. for tips) Gingko! -
replied 11 years agoI know, too funny! We snatched on sale a couple weeks ago, from Century 21. The store has quickly become a favorite. Is it available at Nordies? I would not mind having one in my size.
-
Inge replied 11 years agoI am so so happy that Max is all better, Suz!
And your "cat" look is simply stunning! The pattern mixing with the cat print and your snakeskin booties is sublime. Love it that both prints are in the same colour family, and that delicious new bag is the icing on the cake for sure;-) -
Suz replied 11 years agoThanks, Inge! I am honoured you like this. It looks good with "our" jacket, too....
Zap, Nordies still has it, I believe, and the ebay seller that Rae and MaryK had a few sizes last time I looked.
Thanks, Pil, Sylvie, Thistle, Deb! -
Inge replied 11 years agoI LOVE it!-) And maybe I'm prejudiced, but I really feel our jacket looks good with pretty much anything:-) SO glad I bought it.
-
Ornella replied 11 years ago
Soooo fab I can't stand it.
-
CocoLion replied 11 years agoGorgeous shirt and I think it's a great addition to your wardrobe. Sorry you had to feed the tax pig. :-(
-
K. Period. replied 11 years agoWow! Seriously, Suz, do people faint as you walk by? Because I would--overcome by your gorgeousness and style. (And I know that you've heard this before, but you have the most amazing and warm smile. So lovely!)
-
unfrumped replied 11 years agoTruly awesome. You had to get it. Taupe-y cats with black and white and python booties. I am remazed.
-
Karie replied 11 years agoThis is flippin' ADORABLE! My kitty is meowing right now, "You need one too, mommy, you need one too!"
-
Caro in Oz replied 11 years agoWow - I just love this look on you Suz. You really are nailing it:)
-
Day Vies replied 11 years agoI love the print AND the coat. I also love the SE booties bookending the shirt. Go team wear! :-)
-
Joy replied 11 years ago
Suz, you make a very fetching cat-lady. I can't wait to see your Angie-inspired outfit using this fab shirt.
-
sarah replied 11 years agoI LOVE this, Suz. Good grief. I'm so glad your kitty is mysteriously better!
-
lyn67 replied 11 years agoOMG, what a cute print! Love the blush furbodies and the black accents, they make the print so refined! Beautiful!
-
Lyn D. replied 11 years agoAdorable shirt Suz, and I am so glad that your kitty is well again!
-
catgirl replied 11 years agoThankful I can't wear that color or I would be stealing that shirt! Equipment plus kitties?!
-
Sveta replied 11 years agoThis shirt is all kind of amazing! So many styling opportunities here!
How did Max react to this shirt? :-)
As for the gifts: apparently there is a limit on the gift cost when it is shipped over the border: I think it is $60 or 70. I think they can let it go without taxes up until $ 100 but then you would need to pay. If the sender cuts the tags and declares the lower value it may work...it is really annoying, you would think that gift is a gift... -
replied 11 years agoI am so glad Max is feeling better! Of course you should have this shirt, Max is the one who showed you that taupe is the perfect neutral for you! How cool that this shirt mixes black, white and taupe. I love it, and naturally it will go with everything in your wardrobe! You look fabulous in it, styled to perfection. :)
-
Jaime replied 11 years agoWow! So glad Max recovered! The devil in me wonders if he staged the whole thing so you would end up with this shirt! Love the whole thing!
-
Vicki replied 11 years agoBack online again and I LOVE your "cat power" shirt! It's purr-fect, Suz.
I agree with Inge that your Danier would look so fab with this, too, somewhat like Angie's post with the white on white and her print shirt. ^_^ -
replied 11 years agoOh, I just love that blouse on you! You are too, too cool in your sunglasses. Booties are the right touch. Purr-fection.
