Blazer, knit top, and pile of pearls for daytime date

I worked all weekend so I'm off for a daytime date with Mr. Suz -- driving  through Prince Edward County to see the foliage and enjoy a delicious lunch. Here is what I am wearing for mixed sun/cloud, and a high predicted of about 16.

J. Crew Wool Blazer. I still haven't got around to changing the gold buttons on this so I am wearing with gold earrings -- a rarity for me these days -- and have to leave the watch at home.

Lands' End knit short sleeve top -- from my mother's closet. (Sorry, no Find).

BR crop flares with released hems.

Ecco sneakers.

J. Crew pile of pearls!

It feels like a nice combination of feminine, casual, yet polished.

I'm off for the day, yay! A lightweight cotton or merino knit is one of my favourite things to wear under a blazer.

Ooop! Added coat and Blunstones just in case. Wind is chilly.

  • Marilyn replied 6 years ago

Sounds like a wonderful day, Suz.  Definitely take your coat just in case.  It's getting brisk out there!  I might have to crack and turn the heat on one of these days. LOL

You look fantastic, as always.  Casual chic.  Love the pop of colour. And, you're wearing one of my favourite pairs of jeans.....wore mine on Saturday with sock booties.

  • Sisi replied 6 years ago

Simply fantastic. The top is fabulous.

Lovely Suz.  Very sunny day here in Muskoka.  You always look chic and put together.  This time of year is my favourite.  The leaves have been slow to turn and are perhaps not as vibrant as other years but are still beautiful.

KILLER to the Power of KILLER

Casual Classic Chic. Works every time

  • approprio replied 6 years ago

Nicely done. So glad you kept that blazer. I see you also kept the gold buttons though. Is that a decision or just a deferment?

  • Laura G replied 6 years ago

Pretty! I especially love the beautiful 70s floral print top.

  • Dianna replied 6 years ago

Wow, YLF!  I admire how you always look polished no matter what you wear.

  • skylurker replied 6 years ago

The smart casual formula, perfectly executed.
    I love your heirloom top.

  • delurked replied 6 years ago

Love the pop of color and the casual yet dressy nature of the outfit.

Oh my goodness! A Suz WIW! and you look gorgeous in those colors! You are going to rival in beauty the fall foliage that you are heading out to see. I really like this outfit--it looks very you, yet with a bit of added dressiness, via the pearls and blazer. I love how you've kept it casual with the sneakers and jeans, plus the casual bag.

You glow in that pink and pearls. Have a wonderful day.
ETA: loving the blazer sleeves rolled up to show the lining

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

YOU KNOW YOU HAD ME WITH THE PILE OF PEARLS.

  • Sara L. replied 6 years ago

Nice!  The blazer is a great color on you and I love the patterned top you have on underneath.  Smart to wear short-sleeves to you can take off the blazer if you get too warm.

  • rachylou replied 6 years ago

    Zap! High voltage! :)

Gorgeous!  Just perfect for your day out. I'd love to see PECounty sometime - heard so much about the area and it's scenery.  I'm envying all the fall blazers being talked about here ......

  • RobinF replied 6 years ago

Very nice! Love the color of the jacket. Sounds like a really nice day.

  • Jenni NZ replied 6 years ago

You look awesome Suz. Fabulous pink. I love daytime dates, too rare these days for us.

  • Zibbets replied 6 years ago

Elegant, colorful and sporty! Love the pearls with the jacket and the scrunched sleeves are exactly right. Do you ever worry about damaging your jacket when you do that with the sleeves?

  • Jane replied 6 years ago

It is a lovely outfit and I really like the pink on you. I hope you had a super day.

  • texstyle replied 6 years ago

Fantastic outfit suz - love the pink and pearls especially (and the sneaks too ;-))

  • JuniperGreen replied 6 years ago

CUTE!!  Might try to recreate with my royal blue blazer...

  • Karie replied 6 years ago

Super gorgeous! I am kicking myself for returning that blazer. I have the same J Crew pile of pearls and I wear them all the time. Hope you and Mr. Suz enjoyed your day and got to see some pretty fall foliage.

  • Janet replied 6 years ago

That color is so pretty on you! Nice to see a Suz WIW -- you look great! I hope you have a fun day.

  • Mirjana replied 6 years ago

Wow, wow, Suz you look amazing , fantastic outfit , beautiful blazer and blouse with pearls absolutely winner. Excellent smart casual outfit.

  • viva replied 6 years ago

Such a great outfit - and you will make one of my favorite color combos: your brink pink with all the gorgeous oranges and golds of the leaves. This will be sublime.

You look fantastic, Suz. So nice to see your beautiful smile.

  • The Cat replied 6 years ago

Gorgeous colour combo. Love the pearls and the other touches of white that are echoing the highlights in your hair.

  • JAileen replied 6 years ago

    You really look wonderful.

  • Banoffi replied 6 years ago

    You look smashing!

  • chouette22 replied 6 years ago

You look fabulous and what a treat to see your WIW. And there are the sneakers I should have bought! :)

I don't have an outerwear blazer, despite having so many jackets and coats. Hm.
I had to look up where the Prince Edward County was. Wow, it's completely in Lake Ontario! This must be stunning. Did you catch the leaves at their best moment?

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Thank you all for the lovely compliments! What a treat to come back to that. We had a fun time -- even though 2 of the restaurants we thought we were going to eat at were closed! And the leaves haven't really turned yet because it's been such a warm fall. But that was all right. The sun shone and the ferry ride was gorgeous and it was fun to play hooky. :)

  • replied 6 years ago

    Fab!
    This combo is great!
The floral sweater I've seen in a few WIWs of yours. It seems to be "your thing".

  • Brooklyn replied 6 years ago

Fabulous Suz. I love your sweater.

  • Deborah replied 6 years ago

Lovely outfit Suz, I do view this as very much your signature style :)  And I know you have been wearing your hair like this for quite some time now but every time I see you it totally wows me.  Looking absolutely gorgeous.

  • Jaime replied 6 years ago

Love maximal, casual chic Suz! (Sorry for making you sound like a Barbie :) .) I can't see the earrings so well, but I have finally realized that I am neutral and can go either way in terms of silver and gold. (Also clarified many foundation mistakes.) Just throwing that out there. Great to see you!

  • Beth Ann replied 6 years ago

So glad you had a day off to enjoy with Mr. Suz!  I love the pearls with the fashion sneaks!  And how wonderful you have kept something ladylike from your mom's closet!

  • Gigi replied 6 years ago

You look fantastic! That blazer has your name written all over it. Love the color!

  • replied 6 years ago

I love, LOVE that blazer on you.  The color literally takes my breath away.  You look beautiful and the pearls definitely complete the look.

  • Mainelady replied 6 years ago

STUN-NING! The formula is perfection and with the colors you chose, your outfit is a showstopper! Love it!

  • Inge replied 6 years ago

Marvelous from head to toe!! And that blazer was such a good purchase, Suz!

  • harmonica replied 6 years ago

Stunning! Glad you had a good time.

  • lyn67 replied 6 years ago

Wow, love the pairing of that stunning patterned knit(which inherited from your DM if remember well?) with the fuchsia blazer! Yalways LF Suz!:-)

  • bridgie replied 6 years ago

I nominate this  'Outfit of the Year'.  It is gorgeous on you.

  • Lisa replied 6 years ago

This is so pretty on you! I adore this pink color for you!

  • Mochi replied 6 years ago

You've nailed your look. So polished and sporty and fun.

  • kellygirl replied 6 years ago

Just adding some more love to your maximally fab outfit. You look so good in blazers. Adore the pearls too. You are gorgeous!

  • tulle replied 6 years ago

Lovely.  What a gorgeous color on you!  And it seems appropriate to leave the watch at home for an outing like that, no?  But if you still plan to change out the gold buttons, and if you're having trouble finding silver ones you like, have you considered abalone shell?  It's one of my favorite button materials, and there are often faint tints of pink that would play off the blazer's color.  Just a thought--

  • Christina F. replied 6 years ago

Stunning! That pink blazer is so great on you. It's a very happy look.

  • cobaltblue replied 6 years ago

You look fab, Suz! (Are you already Queen Fuchsia?) And I’ve just realized that we’re J.Crew pile-of-pearl twins.

Glad you had a relaxing outing with Mr. Suz - sounds lovely despite the restaurants failing to cooperate.

  • Jan W. replied 6 years ago

You look fabulous! Love this look!

  • Elizabeth P replied 6 years ago

Suz, it’s so good to see another wiw from you. And this one is awesome! That jacket is such a pretty colour on you.

Q about the pearls... what is their colour like? The online pic shows them as a bit yellowy , however on you they look more like a natural pearl colour.
