Breezy summer skirt

J. Crew isn't what it used to be but every now and again, they still make an exceptional winner and that is what this skirt is -- cotton, cotton lined, easy, breezy, and always works in the heat.

On my way to take my kid to the airport...hot day. You saw me wearing it in Seattle, you see me wearing it again. This time with a knotted tee and striped shoes as per one of Angie's examples.

Love this.  A little unexpected shot of dark colour really ups the look .  Great fit on the t, too.

    Lovely as always, Suz. :)

Don't you just hate it when you find a great cotton or linen skirt/dress and the lining is poly.  Grrr.  Breathable, cotton linings for the win!

Super cute! Your hair and smile elevate your outfit THAT MUCH more!

  • Marilyn replied 4 years ago

Nemosmom......Yes!  Suz has the best smile.  Always radiant.

    Super cute outfit!

Aww, thank you all. You can thank my dentist for the smile! I just paid her I don't want to say how much for a new crown this week. OUCH! But all in the name of health and beauty, right? :)

Also, I LOVE my hairdresser. If anyone is in Vancouver and wants a short haircut, her name is Johanna and she is at Moods Salon in Yaletown. Not cheap but brilliant and a really nice young woman, too.

My favorite floral, dark floral! And I've been all about the boatneck this summer. You look so cute!

  • christy replied 4 years ago

Love everything about this! I can’t wear this silhouette at all but when I see fab outfits like this, I certainly wish I could copy! Breezy and chic.

  • Sal replied 4 years ago

Gorgeous. Biased as I could almost copy this and will when it is not a frosty rugby watching morning!!

You really suit this shape and it looks modern sassy and pretty. I know pretty is a loaded word but it is a sincere compliment.

Gorgeous! Love the dark top with this skirt. And the sandals are unexpected and very cool with the outfit (no pun intended)

  • SarahD8 replied 4 years ago

Great outfit, Suz. That skirt is a real workhorse and so versatile. I love the subtle pattern matching with the sandals.

I think J. Crew kicks the quality up a notch with its Liberty items. I'm wearing a J. Crew/Liberty popover top at the moment -- recently "thrifted" on Ebay and was delighted to see that it even has bra strap catches! Just an extra level of thoughtfulness seems to go into these pieces.

These skirts are perfect on you and very Audrey Hepburn in that you look feminine without being too sweet.

It sounds like you found the perfect summer skirt. You could give a master class in styling. I will have to look at JCrew for skirts.
