Not as simple, but same proportions

I'm on a short conference for work and by chance today wore a more busy version of outfit #1. This is actually a combo (cropped pants, long cardigan) that I've been wearing for at least four years and I still enjoy it. But wearing with loafers is new.

My version includes a scarf and patterned socks because it's cold here! I will take the scarf off in a few hours.

I prefer long cardigans to shorter ones but I do own several short ones, too, that I tend to wear as tops (as in the third outfit).

Fab outfit Suz, I love all the details from the scarf to the socks.

    KILLER

LOVE the socks! New look for you - no? With the statement socks/loafers, I mean. Or at least, one I haven't seen yet :)

Very fun pattern mix! SOOOOO glad those loafers are working out.

A long burgundy coat would work beautifully over the lot - to cover the cardigan, and match the rest of the fab burgundy in your outfit!

Superb! Love the coordination between socks and scarf!

This is beautiful, and fun with the pattern mixing.

Great to see the patterned socks. I always wonder what to do about cropped pants + low shoes, as the weather turns. You solved that problem. I love those loafers.

This still looks fab to me!

I am a card-carrying member of team long cardigan, and you wear the look SOOO well, Suz! I love the loafers with the cropped pants.

Well, this is great!  I do so love the extra pattern provided by the socks - good call!

Looking good, love this outfit combo on you and I'm always down with cute patterned socks with shoes or even sandals for that matter.

Cute - love the socks with the loafers !  Whatever you do, as per Angie's advice, don't buy a burgundy puffer ;)   But I agree, a long burgundy coat would be useful here .

    Lol Lisa!!

Suz I love this - the socks make the look feel so fun and fresh. YLF!

I LOVE this! Gorgeous! The socks are so fab (as is the rest of the outfit, but the socks + loafers really jump out at me and demand attention) :).

"A long burgundy coat would work beautifully over the lot - to cover the cardigan, and match the rest of the fab burgundy in your outfit!"

Ha, Angie, I am tempted! :)

These are Smartwool Margarita socks that I've had in my drawer for ages -- they are pretty much all I wear all winter except when hiking. But usually my boots have covered them. Finding a pair of loafers I can actually wear has been a new experience! I can easily play with colourful socks. Fits right into the garconne theme.

BTW, reviews of these shoes say the toe is narrow (not for me) and the heel is wide (compared to most slip on shoes? no way!!!) I have had to be very judicious and break them in with body glide, bandaids and now socks, but it is working and they do not fall off my feet even with the socks. They also have a nice supportive footbed. Thanks NAS and Angie

Great look - the loafers are wonderful here - provide something that a sneaker or boot would not.

    Nailed it!

Love the socks, hair is gorgeous, outfit is great!

WOW! Great outfit, so detailed with everything working well together! I love your shoes!

Great shoes *and* socks! My cardi logic is the same as yours:
    Long = outerwear
Short = tops (or arm coverage).

FWIW, my mum just sent me a photo of herself in a burgundy/ maroon hooded parka from Seasalt that looks fabulously fitted (waist definition) but with ease :D

I love these proportions and seeing them styled for a colder climate is inspiring! Socks are back, baby!

So cute!! I had a charcoal maxi cardigan for a long time that I loved...but always struggled with a coat.

  • kkards replied 1 year ago

The socks!!! Not usually a lover of visible socks, but they really really work here!

I love  how the scarf and socks mirror each other and make the outfit sing! You’ve given me new ideas on how to wear my two long cardigans, too,
