Ooops! Somebody went online shopping....

Surely I will return some of it, right?

Is there anything I have forgotten, do you suppose? :)

If you don't try it you will never know if it works.

  • Mo replied 10 years ago

    Woah, you don't mess around!

  • Mona replied 10 years ago

Great pieces all around. The Zara striped shirt looks lovely. I hope it is one of the keepers.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

I know, Mo. And I was blithely saying this morning that I was almost done shopping, ha ha. Famous last words.

In all seriousness, I do expect a portion of this to go back. And in my defence, J. Crew has free shipping plus 30% off today, so I wanted to strike while the iron was hot, so to speak.

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

All look like your style. Can't wait to see them modeled. :)

"Surely I will return some of it, right?"

Or not? Those are some beautiful, classic pieces.

  • fuzzylogic replied 10 years ago

Nice haul! Love the sleeveless tuxedo vest!!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Suz, if it makes you feel better I went crazy this morning with JCrew too ;-)  and still more in my cart now... Have a question for you: that cashmere sweater you got last time - have you seen it in heather nickel color? also how was the sizing - it is XL only left and I don't know if it will be too big for me or not...
Another one I am considering is this merino tunic in blue...again XL only available..should I risk it?
BTW, where is the vest from? Gorgeous! Want!

  • Ledonna N. replied 10 years ago

I cannot wait to see these on you. I am really looking forward to seeing to how you wear the vest.

  • Mo replied 10 years ago

Oh, I know all about J Crew's 30% . . . I'm still biting my lip over some metallic shorts.  My Just say no June turned Judicious June may become Jump On It June LOL.
    Good luck with your haul.

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

Suz- great choices! You may find that a lot of them work well for you.

Thanks for the jcrew tip. I ordered a couple of the linen boat necks and the navy drapey pants. What can I say, it was hot here today and I love fashion 2014.

  • Tanya replied 10 years ago

Amazing haul Suz!  I hope it all ends up right for you.

It is funny how many simialr items, or same ones in different colors I have recently gotten, for example the same two J Crew linen sweaters but in reverse colors.  We will have some very similar looking outfits :)

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Tanya, that is hilarious. I wish we could go on a summer outing together sporting our reverse coloured outfits!

Sveta, I haven't seen the cashmere sweater in nickel, but I can certainly vouch for its quality. It drapes well, also. I usually wear xs at J. Crew but ordered it in S because I was burned by those Tippis that were not as fluid as I wanted...so the fit is oversize on me in S but not ridiculously so (in my opinion). It fits on the shoulder, just loose in the body.

I really like the tunic you linked to also!!

Here are my thoughts on the fit of the sweaters, FWIW:

If they say "semifitted" (as with the Tippi) they really mean that, and some of them will be fitted vs. semifitted.

If they say "relaxed" they mean that, too. These will fit much looser to begin with, and will probably look okay a bit oversized.

If they say "oversized," again -- they mean it -- and these will fit very loose even in your regular size. But if the drape is good they may look good on you in a larger size.

You and I both have the shoulder breadth (in our relative sizes) to carry a slightly larger size if desired.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

ETA: The vest is Vero Modo from the Bay. I was actually ordering the sandals from there and just threw it in the basket to try.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Tanya, too funny - I have ordered the same eyelet linen tee today but in white and blush. They were final sale and I have not seen them in person so it was a risk - it makes me feel better that you have it too :-)

  • Mo replied 10 years ago

    Suz, I'm blaming you (in jest!).  I didn't realize free shipping was just today.  GULP.  I am g u i l t y.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

The free shipping is so enticing isn't it? I don't know how you are going to return any of these excellent choices!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

It gets worse! My cart is re-filling!!

And MO -- oh no, I have ruined Just-say-no June!!!!

At least I hope it is for a really good cause!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

You forgot a ball gown or two.

Nice stash. And I suppose you don't want to see these:

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Ha ha ha...love it! What if it all fits and is fab????

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Oh, oh...Angie is on the game. Now my pocketbook is in deeper trouble than ever!!

What the heck. It can always go back, right? :)

  • Tanya replied 10 years ago

He he, this is becoming more and more interesting by the moment :D  Wondering what is in that cart now.

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

Free shipping today at J.Crew, which just happens to be one of my favorite stores? You're singing my song! I didn't know or I would have been shopping earlier - I'm heading over to the website now.

The tee and high-low sweater are my favs, along with the shirtdress. Nice haul!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Holy Cow!  Love all of these for you.  Fortunately, most of them are out of stock in my size!

  • replied 10 years ago

These are all lovely. I had a shopping cart all ready to go but I have spent my budget this month on those Docs, so I will pass (sob).

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

We know that some of these look fab on you, because we've seen them in other colors. The vest is really nice looking and I bet you'll find lots of outfits to make with it. I'm drooling over the chambray dress, though. (Even though I see it's not part of the JCrew special.)

  • Gracie replied 10 years ago

I'm looking forward to your try ons and assessment. I'm curious about how you'll style the shirt dress (belted/ not) and if the sandals will be narrow enough for your low volume feet. All your choices are lovely - good luck, fingers crossed!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Budget? What budget? Holy moly, I hope I get a windfall of some kind....either that, or come to my senses when it all arrives.

I just added a few more J. Crew goodies....and now I am really, truly, done, done, done!!!

Plus a tux shirt in blue, which for some reason isn't showing up in my finds, probably because I already have the same item in white in my roster. :)

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Gracie, my feet are actually relatively high volume, so the sandals should be all right. I have super narrow heels, is all -- the rest of the foot is on the regular side with a high instep and relatively high arch.

I am super curious about the dress, too. I have no idea what I will do with it! It just appealed to me as a different style to wear this summer and as something easy to throw on over a bathing suit, maybe.....

  • Tanya replied 10 years ago

More awesome choices!  And to  continue our little comedy, I have been  stalking the little upscale silk sweatshirt with the same floral pattern, waiting for it to go on sale :)  We should totally do an outing like you proposed.

  • abc replied 10 years ago

I've had those same metallic sandals on my short list for a while. Please report back once the haul starts arriving!

  • Gracie replied 10 years ago

Oh the sandals should fit nicely I hope, thanks for clarifying. I now want the merino baseball-style too you just posted, sporty extraordinaire! Want. But don't really need so I have to be strong.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Suz, these are going to be fabulous in your closet.
I have a question about the Tippi sizing as your near body double. You said that XS were not fluid on you. Do you think the S would be just right or would the M be better?

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Joy, I sized up for Tippi sweaters from my regular size. What is your regular size - S or XS? I would size up 1 size from it if you like a fluid fit.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

I agree with Sveta. My regular J. Crew size is xs but xs was just too fitted to my taste in the Tippi. I would have preferred the small, and I think the small would work beautifully on you, Joy.

Tanya, I am laughing again. Vivian also was going to buy that sweater. I actually preferred it to the top, but decided to spring while the top was on sale after realizing that I can wear it under a jacket quite well and really need more patterned sleeveless or short sleeved tops -- I only have one at the moment.

  • deb replied 10 years ago

You guys are such enablers. I already order two tees and one sweater and now I am looking at more. Luckily most of the colors do not suit me and I promised my closet, no more blue.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Ah, Deb....but blue looks so good on you!!!! :)

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

I expect a full report on everything :)

  • Jeanie replied 10 years ago

Acckkk!..you guys are killing me.  I do need a few summer toppers.
