Summer outfits

A few WIWs -- some you've seen, some you haven't. Comments and critiques welcome but not required. :)

These date from May and June. Wearing my Boden dresses all the time. I wear Phoebe, Emory, and Eleanor once per week each -- at least.

11-14 are from a conference in Toronto in mid-June. I stayed at an Airbnb that was owned by a therapist in training. Loved her little puppets.

Really nice, Suz. You have a great wardrobe that works very hard for all the things you do. And now I am wondering if those finger puppets are from The Unemployed Philosophers Guild!!!

    ETA Yep.

  • JAileen replied 5 years ago

You look so fab in your dresses. I especially like 1, 3, and 14.

I thought about putting together the JCrew dress, but by the time I got around to ordering, my size wasn’t available.

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Those puppets are Dr. Freud and Dr. Jung! Also, they are holding hands, which is sweet considering their feud.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

You have obviously been practicing PPP and your care shows. Everything works so well in your well curated wardrobe. The two piece dress and JC silk vertical striped top are my favorites.

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

Gorgeous, Suz!! Especially drawn to #1, #8 and #18 but, I mean, they're all pretty fantastic. Loving the Eleanor on you (it didn't work for me *sniffle*). Have been on the hunt for a similar soft kimono to yours in #9, this is great inspiration for one.

  • Angie replied 5 years ago

Suz, you have never looked better. WOW.

    KILLER ALL ROUND.

    My faves: #1, 6, 10 and 14.

#1 is KILLER to the POWER of KILLER. Nothing can top you in perfect modern classics to my eye. It doesn't get old :)

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Thanks, Angie -- blushing! You are so right about the classics. I just keep going back to J. Crew and now also Boden!

Aida, that's too bad about Eleanor -- were the shoulders too awkward on it, or the print? I love it -- great fabric. Check out Aritzia for kimonos for sure -- they seem to do a few every year. I think Mango might also be a source.

Thanks, Joy! I have worked hard to keep things cohesive and friendly to one another, and it seems to work for me. Happy with the closet! I must say my summer closet is working better for me this year than last...I think the switch to waist definition/ wider bottoms took some adjusting but I'm getting there.

JAileen, well you look fab in your dresses, too!!

    Sheila, thank you!

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

The fabric is really wonderful, isn't it! It was the collar mostly, too roomy in the bust and on upwards through the collar; the cut was also just a wee bit off. I tried two sizes but no dice. Will enjoy on you and Angie ^^

  • Style Fan replied 5 years ago

Love the puppets!  You look so well put together in your outfits.  Your wardrobe is working well for you.

  • MidwestrnChic replied 5 years ago

Your wardrobe is fantastic. I love every single piece on you.

  • 3style replied 5 years ago

Looks like there’s a lot of tucking and semi tucking happening for you, and it suits you. I haven’t been paying super close attention to the forum for more than about a year, though I think I’ve read just about everything Angie has written. Anyway, I’m wondering, is this new for this summer or is it something you have the tendency to do most of the time? I’m rediscovering the tucking option. It’s a work in progress.

  • Bonnie replied 5 years ago

I love your dresses and you wear them well. The Liberty Floral skirt and top might be my favorite, though.

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Bonnie, thanks -- I love that Liberty print, too. A lucky find on sale.

3style -- I've been semi-tucking for years -- and fully tucking again for the past year or so. It's pretty easy or natural for me because I grew up with tucked tops (though my waist is not what it was then!) I like surrendering the waist, too, though, as some of these outfits suggest. I think tucking takes getting used to for those who haven't tried that proportion, and it's not for everybody.. I do find that it works better with some styles of bottom than others.

Aida, what a shame. You probably had to order up to get the shoulders to fit and then the bust was off. I need one size in their dresses with sleeves, but  a smaller size in their sleeveless dresses. If I ordered the same size as the sleeved dress, the bust would be too big.

  • Joyce B replied 5 years ago

Those are all fab outfits on you. You did very well with Boden. I should try it too but I am finding that doing the homework for the Boden size is annoying.
I also love your Chanel type jacket.

  • Christina F. replied 5 years ago

Suz, you are #lifegoals, as the kids would say these days. All the work you put in pays off, but in the best way because it all looks effortless. That is all.

  • jussie replied 5 years ago

Oh wow. Wow. You’re wardrobe is fabulous, and every piece fits you perfectly. If I had to choose, I think the two best pieces are your vertical striped top and your long silver cardigan. So versatile and it’s like they’re custom made for your colouring, style preference and shape.

  • Sal replied 5 years ago

    What a gorgeous collection of summer looks.  I especially love 1 2 3 7 8 10 16 18 20

I like tucking on you very much - I think you really suit the higher waisted pants.

  • replied 5 years ago

Wow - what a gallery of great styling and dressing. I agree with Angie in that you've never looked better. Hair on point too ;) The Liberty print two-piece is my fav.

I continue to envy your wardrobe and wonder if I'll ever have a collection of pieces that even comes close.  I always come up against the wall/ceiling where one has to be willing to put in the effort , do lots of on-line shopping and spend the time - I'm just not there - and the conundrum continues.....ha.

  • Jenn replied 5 years ago

Such a treat to see a whole gallery of your summer style! I'm hard-pressed to pick favorites, but I'll give it a go.

#1  is fab... this is a two-piece dress, yes? I never would have guessed without seeing #2.

Also loving #3, 16, 19, and all the long cardigan looks, but especially #5.

All around, you look fresh and crisp....vastly different from my current summer look, which I'd classify as "wilting." ;)

  • The Cat replied 5 years ago

Very nice summer outfits. You look fab and happy. My favourites are #1, 6, 14 and 15.

  • Mirjana replied 5 years ago

WOW, Suz, you look terrific, all are great as always, you styled them perfect. I especially love your dresses, you wear the so well, I can choice favorite. Maybe my favourites are #1, #3 and #10.

  • Mainelady replied 5 years ago

Oh Suz, FAB-U-LOUS! Every piece fits you so well and you look amazing! I had to look long and hard to identify favorites in this grouping. #1 looks like it was made for you! #8 is nice and casual. I think the v neck on the blouse is particularly flattering to your face. #14....Wow, I love the polka dots and that white denim jacket with your hair is stunning! Your hair and smile are the stars of the show.

  • kkards replied 5 years ago

WOW...you are having a stunning summer...YLF....and the dresses look fab and i can see why you are reaching for them again and again!

  • Inge replied 5 years ago

Seriously Suz, every single outfit is just SO good!! (I am vigorously taking notes here!). And hurrah for those fab Boden dresses, so glad you got them!!

  • lyn67 replied 5 years ago

I don't know how you do it, but these are all so perfectly currated for your own unique style outfit, and love the ALL but am now fascinated by your  shoe collection especially! And, of course YLF-as always!! Thanx for posting from time to time your beautiful wiw's!

  • Jaime replied 5 years ago

Your hair! Maybe it is the light but the streaks and highlights that nature gave you are fantastic! As are your outfits - you are on top of your style game.

  • rachylou replied 5 years ago

    Lookin’ Good, Suz!!

  • Sara L. replied 5 years ago

These are all so great I can't pick a favorite.  You have a great summer sandal collection too.  I love those silver ones.  I've been looking for silver or pewter sandals this summer and haven't found anything I like that's affordable.

  • Janet replied 5 years ago

I agree with Angie -- you've never looked better! All fantastic.

  • texstyle replied 5 years ago

What a fantastic lineup of your summer outfits Suz - all of these are so stylish and perfect on you in so many ways. I don't think I could pick a favorite either 8, 10, 14 and 18 are some of the ones that standout to me.

  • Katerina replied 5 years ago

Your summer outfits are gorgeous, I admire your style. I LOVE outfit no 6 especially!

  • Cardiff girl replied 5 years ago

You wear clothes so well .A masterclass in summer dressing.

  • citygirldc replied 5 years ago

You look amazing and those dresses fit you too a tee.

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

YES I think you nailed it. And interesting about the sizing and needing two different depending on sleeves/sleeveless. This was my first Boden order and my hunch is I'll be in the same boat.

  • tulle replied 5 years ago

You look so relaxed and confident--not to mention beautiful!--in all these outfits, you must be feeling very much at the top of your game.  I especially love the J. Crew floral set and the drop-waisted dress in #3.  The silhouettes are feminine and sophisticated, and the prints are fabulous on you.

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

Thank you all so very much -- I will be back to respond individually tomorrow -- have been travelling all day. Much appreciated! xo

  • Jeanie replied 5 years ago

There is something so different and so striking about Eleanor on you.  You are wearing black and white very well.

  • Karie replied 5 years ago

Sweet sister! These are all fantastic. My absolute favorite is the blue gingham dress. You certainly hit the dress jackpot this year!

  • Brooklyn replied 5 years ago

Wow Suz. You’ve got summer style sorted. I am SO impressed. My favourite is no 1 but really they are all fantastic. And you look gorgeous!

  • RobinF replied 5 years ago

Wow, you are having a styling summer!  These are all great, love the 2-piece dress and the other dresses but the jeans outfits are great too.

  • Thistle replied 5 years ago

    You are so amazing stylish!

Every one of those outfits is spectacular!

And I am so glad the dresses are working. It took time, but dresses with length came back, and you are rocking them!

  • Amy Isabella replied 5 years ago

Suz you have THE best summer style. Love them all. Just beautiful.

  • Becky replied 5 years ago

Wow! So hard to pick a favorite, but I especially love #4 and #14 and those red strappy sandals! I love that your wardrobe is very cohesive and your pieces play well together.
