Ack. I realize these are not very good pics. I brought it home to try and will try to get better. It is navy and black with silver and black buttons and pleather trim. Got at Winners.

    Here is the link: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/vi.....at/3360260

I like it. It looks like a very dark navy.

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

Looks nice from what I can see!

I got a pair of navy and black skinny trousers before I left on my trip, which I'm anxious to try out. Seems to be a popular color combo!

It sounds great and looks good as far as I can see Suz.
(Couldn't get to your link from Aus. for some reason)

  • celia replied 11 years ago

It looks very cute. I would keep it.

  • sinead replied 11 years ago

I love this- looks like it was made for you. I'm on the hunt for a coat, and I would so snap this up! Is Winners like our US Marshalls? The signs in the background look similar.

  • Tanya replied 11 years ago

love. totally perfect on you. and girl, those are sweet boots.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Tanya, thank you -those are the Angie recommended Report Marks booties!

Sinead, our Winners is like your TJ Maxx, I think. In the city where I live I rarely find anything very good there. I have better luck at Toronto Winners when I visit there. But once in a while I find something in Kingston.

ETA: Will try to get better pics on Tuesday. I wish you could see the colour block. It's very sublte, but the blue is near my face and the black below. Another stranger spontaneously told me it looked fantastic. I figure, 3 strangers in 5 minutes, it's probably a good idea. Plus it is almost half the Nordstrom price. Not a very warm coat, however. Definitely a car coat or a coat for layering over a jacket. I tried it; it works.

By the way - this is not a petite but a regular XS. I seem to be able to do this better in overcoats than any other article of clothing.

  • Glory replied 11 years ago

I love it on you. You can't go wrong with this style in our climate! I vote keep

  • DonnaF replied 11 years ago

Looking forward to better pics. Navy flatters you, and scale of the style does not overwhelm you. Thanks for posting whether P vs. regular sizing since it seems to hit you well. Petite may well have looked skimpy on you. Hope you keep it! [This is your reward for leather jacket frustration!]

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Yeah...it makes me laugh...the sleeves on overcoats in my size, even in regular sizes, are almost never too long!

    Go figure.

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

From what I can see, I love this on you!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Suz I was able to open the link and the coat looks gorgeous. And from what I can see of your pictures, it looks good on you too:)

I like the leather trim and I think that funnel neck looks excellent on you with your refind neck and short do.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

I like what I can see - and this would broaden your winter handbag options, yes?

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

What a fab, classic, and stylish coat....great find Suz!

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Lucky find! It looks great on you and good to hear the sleeves work. I like that it has (faux) leather trim, so on-trend!

  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago

    Gorgeous! Coat envy. Please keep.

  • krishnidoux replied 11 years ago

This is a great demi-saison coat, perfect for now! Yes, keep it, the colour block is trendy and genius if blue is closer to your face.

  • Laura replied 11 years ago

I like it - it's dropped waist? The colors are going to be wonderful for you.

    Funny about the sleeves :)

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Yes...it's a super subtle dropped waist and colour block effect because the black block starts on the hip (with the faux leather trim). You ALMOST can't tell that it it both blue and black, but then you can. Sort of nifty.

Krish, you're totally right, it is demi-saison. It's not very warm, and although a wool blend, is not lined. So it won't do in full-on winter very well except for the car. But I can layer a sweater or jacket underneath it. And the price was very reasonable.

Rae, you're right - I could get a RED bag to wear with this coat. ;-)

  • lyn67 replied 11 years ago

ILF on you, please keep and will match your taupe capsule, too:-))

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Opened the link - gorgeous coat! And from what I can tell, it looks good on you Suz. This is a real contender.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

From what I can see, my thumbs are up BIG time, Suz! From the sounds of it, I would soooo wear that coat. Hope to see better pics soon :)

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

Suz, this looks amazing on you - I would have told you to get it if I saw you in store!

  • JulieJohn replied 11 years ago

Oh, man, I have pea coat envy! I have been thinking about a dressy dark coat, and couldn't decide between navy and black. Why should I have to decide? Be like Suz, and get them both at once. It's two - two - two coats in one!

  • Ariadne replied 11 years ago

What a find. Keep! Can you fit it in your luggage for Vancouver? It would be perfect for our climate and I bet you'd wear it every day you were here.

  • Inge replied 11 years ago

Suz that peacoat is divine. I love the dropped waist, the navy & black combo and the leather trim. Absolutely beautiful.

  • nancylee replied 11 years ago

What a great find, Suz! I say go for it...quick!
