WIW for the Launch of Kingston WritersFest

Sorry you can't see the whole outfit, but you have seen the dress in previous posts. It is my Cleo dress.

Really, I'm just putting these up to remind myself that WritersFest is coming up and I will need to do some outfit planning for five days of public appearances in late September!
It's that time of year already again.

And may I add that this dress has been a real workhorse for me this summer. It has come out to play a number of times and I do not tire of it. Very comfortable, easy to wear, no worry about bra straps slipping out and showing or anything of that nature. Thank you, Cleo!

    Amazing dress on you!

that is a gorgeous color on you. Have fun at the fest! Is this the same one that we helped you dress for last year? LOL... Weren't you presenting or something last year? Are you presenting this year?
    You look great!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Kim, yes indeed - the same festival YLF so kindly helped to dress me for last year. And yes, I'm presenting again this year and so will need to look ... presentable! I have a couple of outfit ideas already but will certainly be calling on my YLF friends for assistance again.

You look gorgeous in those colors! It's nice when you find a dress that is useful and comfortable. It's hard to tell how much you'll like something when you first buy it.

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

Fab! And I love the bright lipstick, too!

  • Gaylene replied 11 years ago

Such a pretty dress on you-- Cleo's should pay you for modelling it to the rest of the world!
And who are those other lovely ladies in the pictures; are they also going to be part of the WritersFest this year?

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

Fab! You look gorgeous in blue! Love your fellow writer's (?) bright silvery curls too.

  • Vicki replied 11 years ago

You are a beauty in blue and this will be great at the WritersFest. From "dress-up" blue, like this Cleo dress, to your faded denim SBF jeans, you can do it all! Looking forward to seeing your outfits. Also, I'd love to hear about what you're presenting.

You are drop-dead gorgeous! Killer smile!!

  • Mo replied 11 years ago

Love the dress! But your smile is the best part of the outfit :)

  • Glory replied 11 years ago

Love this colour on you - and love your hair style! We are almost neighbours!

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Does your husband get nervous when you go off to events? Because you're the prettiest girl in the room!

  • Irene replied 11 years ago

You are a VERY beautiful woman, Suz!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

You are all so sweet. Thank you.

Glory, are you close to Kingston? If so, I hope you'll join our eastern Ontario meet up in the fall!

The silvery curls woman is Merilyn Simonds, the festival's vibrant Artistic Director. She is a powerhouse, and an amazing writer. http://www.merilynsimonds.com

The other woman is local poet, Elizabeth Greene - another terrific writer. http://poets.ca/members_data/Elizabeth%20Greene

I'll be appearing in two events - moderating a session with novelists Emily Schultz and Melanie Dugan (the session is called The Beautiful and the Damned).

And I'll also be reading some of my poetry which is included in a new anthology called Desperately Seeking Susans. All the poets included are named Susan!!

Here's the events page for anyone who may live nearby enough to come:

I may be hosting the odd session as well, just thanking sponsors and introducing writers.

Gaylene - I really liked the link you posted in the links this week; it has special relevance as I consider my wardrobe for these specific events! So thank you.
