WIW: To lunch

I took my husband out for lunch today. It is his birthday next week and this was our celebration. I wanted to wear something feminine and spring-like.

Wore my Ralph Lauren navy knit sheath
Banana Republic jacket (from a few seasons ago)
Sam Edelman sandals
Danier bag
Bracelet was a gift from hubby.

This outfit is also something of a trial run. The Nicole Miller sheath I have ordered is much dressier than this (which is essentially a sporty sweater dress) but the basic shape is the same. I wanted to see if this topper might work for my gala, assuming that dress works out. I think it probably will do -- what do you think?

Thanks for looking!

So pretty and spring-y, Suz! You look SO good in that sheath and those awesome sandals. Love the bright pink clutch in this too.

The jacket is very pretty and feminine, and I think it will look lovely as a topper for your Nicole Miller sheath. Pretty bracelet, DH has good taste (and happy birthday to him, too)!

This looks great Suz!  I think the topper totally works, can't wait to see it with your new dress.

You look great. I just love the navy dress and the seaming on it. I also like the topper because you are blond.  Happy Birthday DH  !

You look gorgeous Suz - I don't remember seeing that jacket. It's lovely and I think could work over many different dresses. Great pop of color with the purse.

So nice, Suz. Love the colors and almost water color effect of the jacket pattern. Everything is gorgeous.

Love the color scheme of this outfit: the navy with gray and white and a pop of fuchsia looks fresh and perfect for spring. A jacket over a sheath dress is one of my favorite combos, too.
    Lovely!

I love the subtle colors of the jacket with the black dress and fuchsia bag. The palette is so sophisticated. I am not sure this look is really you. The jacket is beautiful but it seems too "soft" for your personal style.

    I like it!

Hope your lunch was enjoyable for both of you!  Love this look:  the crisp navy and white with the pop of color, the modern, easy sandals.  I think the jacket would work over the NM dress, but I'm not sure it has the glamour required for the event.   Can't wait to see the two paired together, though!

Thanks, all. Day Vies - really interested in your comment! The jacket is indeed feminine and the round shapes in the pattern and the soft greys do make it seem a bit soft. You are right.

But the fabrication is actually quite crisp, and when done up it is a sort of straight peplum. So I actually love it -- at least for a change, LOL. Admittedly, I usually wear it with jeans, which sort of mitigates the softness, or at least the ultra femininity!

I think you've seen a lot more of my casual style, which makes sense (since a huge portion of my life is casual). I do tend to go a bit more feminine in summer and when I am dressing up -- although not always. But you are insightful. In general I think crisp detailing is much more "me."

We had a really nice time - sat outside on a lovely patio!

Happy birthday to Mr. Suz. I am glad you enjoyed the dinner. You look radiant in this jacket and the accessories add a great touch. Both the clutch and bracelet are fab.

Suz, this is lovely.  It has a sophisticated and lady like vibe that I also like to visit at times.  So bet hubby felt good being out with the loveliest and most stylish women in the restaurant? :)

Wow- nice way to do a birthday lunch. The combination looks so nice on you and what a difference a great clutch can make. I like the lightness the jacket brings to the out fit as well.
