WSIW: Please help me pick!

Well, I'm not giving you much time. A half an hour. Yikes. It's been that kind of day.

A bunch of options for my Bus. Casual event tonight.

The good news: It is unseasonably warm. And the ground is (presently) dry.

The bad news: It is supposed to rain later.

1. Red pants, booties, gilet, blue top, red earrings.
2. Same with one scarf.
3. Same with another.
4. Slim blue pants instead.
5. Showing the coat problem -- gilet longer than trench.
6. With blazer instead (obviating the coat problem.)
7. Red jacket and slim pants/ column of colour.
8. Red jacket and culottes.
9. Culottes, gilet, red earrings, red boots, blue top .

Which should I wear?

Thank you!

Number one. Legs look very long. Earrings arty and bookend trousers. Coatproblem: who cares. Is it dark outside?

  • Cardiff girl replied 6 years ago

All nice but I like #2best.

  • LaPed replied 6 years ago

Oh, I love the lines you get in #9! That is my top pick. Second fave is #4 because I think it has the best balance of bright and dark. But if the trench being shorter really bothers you and you're sure you'll need it, then, hmm...

Honestly, the gilet being longer doesn't bother me in the slightest -- no more than if it were the hem of a skirt or a dress. I could see it being problematic if it were very voluminous, but the layers are quite streamlined together.

  • Chris987 replied 6 years ago

I like 3,2, and 1 best in that order. I like those three better than the other choices. Just an emotional reactions n without much analyzing. Hope you have a fabulous time, you deserve it!

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Thank you all....keep 'em coming for the next 10 minutes and then I have to put on whatever it's going to be and dash out the door! :)

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Note that sun was shining a bit for first 3 photos so it has made them look inherently happier I think. :)

  • Katerina replied 6 years ago

Suz, all fantastic, you can wear any of them. Personally, I am blown away by your red pants outfits. No 2 is my fav with 3 as first runner up and 1 as a second runner up. Which earrings have you added no 3? Difficult to see in the picture...

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Katerina, I put on silver earrings for that one as the long red ones were interfering with the scarf.

Thank you all for your thoughts! Some disagreement but a lot of love for my unloved red pants! I do feel a bit self-conscious in them, I must admit. The gilet helps, but they are a bit at the (ahem, LisaP, don't listen) crotch point.

  • Jenn replied 6 years ago

I like #3. And I don’t see a problem with the trench being shorter than the vest. It gives you some arty-looking layers.

  • The Cat replied 6 years ago

You look great in all the outfits. However, I vote #3 or #7.

  • texstyle replied 6 years ago

    #1 or #2 or #4 --- eeek, I can't decide!

  • Sara L. replied 6 years ago

I like #3, #6 and #9.  The coat/gilet problem doesn't bother me either.  Plus, are you going to be wearing the coat once you arrive?  I really like the drama of that red scarf.

  • Elle replied 6 years ago

Not sure if this is too late.   I like 6,7, & 8. Red looks great on you and I particularly like it near your face.  If you want to wear the gilet (very fun), I like it best in #4 where it is the focus of the outfit - the red pants/culottes seem to compete with the gilet

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Not too late yet, no! I have about 5 to 8 minutes. Really sorry to be so late with my request.

  • Diana replied 6 years ago

I like #1.  I prefer the sleek line without the scarves, although of course you could add the scarf for outerwear if you think you'll need it.  I don't see a problem with the trench/gilet hemlines at all.

  • Roxanna replied 6 years ago

Love #8 best. The strictness of the military jacket with those culottes is spectacular. But I also like there one with red pants, blue scarf and gilet of you want to wear the gilet!

  • L'Abeille replied 6 years ago

Ditto Roxanna. The gilet is wonderful but the jacket and culottes is tdf.

  • replied 6 years ago

Another vote for #1, it looks amazing and so streamlined.

  • replied 6 years ago

    3

  • Brooklyn replied 6 years ago

I vote # 3. They all look good. I hope it goes well.

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Thank you all for your valuable input!

    I'm choosing 9 for 3 reasons:

    1. I haven't had either culottes or gilet on all year and I am really enjoying the lovely fabric of the culottes.

    2. It is less "attention grabbing" than red jacket. I am not presenting but being honoured as part of a group. I want to fade into the background but also be elegant .That is another reason not to wear the red pants.

    3. Mr. Suz loved this one best.

  • Jenn replied 6 years ago

    Have a wonderful time, Suz!

BTW, your makeup looks lovely. :)

  • texstyle replied 6 years ago

    #9 was a stunning choice!

  • replied 6 years ago

Have a fun evening, and sorry for missing your post.  I was doing important things like having a nap on the couch in the sun :)

My pick was number 1- I love those earrings too.

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

Sorry I missed your post, but WOW, Suz. Many KILLER options.

My faves are #9, #8 and #4 - all KILLER to the Power of KILLER. VERY 2018.

Which did you choose? Have a GREAT time!

Haven't read the comments yet. Doing that now.

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

HAH. Just read the comments. Wooohooooo.

HIGH FIVE, MR. SUZ. We both had the same favourite. I tend to go with the spouses choice - ask Janet all about that.

  • Marilyn replied 6 years ago

All fantastic outfits, Suz!  My gilet doesn't come out to play often enough either but it's such a killer piece, isn't it.

    Hope your event goes well.

  • Sal replied 6 years ago

I am also too late but love your choice and the reasons for picking it.

And you have several other smashing looks for the next occasion:)

  • Helena replied 6 years ago

Sorry Suz I wasn't quick enough, but honestly, you couldn't go wrong with these options. You look fab in all (as always). Enjoy!!!

  • Laurie replied 6 years ago

You make it hard for us to choose, Suz!  I was going to vote for 8 but I think 9 was the choice.    I was not loving the red boots with dark trousers as much as how they looked with red pants.   Then they paired with the culottes and then it was magical!

  • Deborah replied 6 years ago

Suz, go well this evening.  Your choice is just lovely.  I am late and just for the record I suprised myself by loving 2 and 3.  In my mind the red pants would not have been my choice but wow they look fantastic.  Another time:)

  • jussie replied 6 years ago

I wasn't fast enough, but I honestly think each of those outfits is beautiful! Almost impossible to choose.

  • Dianna replied 6 years ago

Well, I am late to this, but you chose well, 9 was one of my favorites(along with 4 and 8).  You look stunning.

  • Mainelady replied 6 years ago

I’m sorry I missed out on your planning party. Great choice with #9. I hope you had a fab evening!

  • Christina F. replied 6 years ago

Your ultimate choice was FAB. What’s nice is that the other outfits are great too, and now you have those ideas in your pocket!

  • rachylou replied 6 years ago

I’m glad you went with the culottes, but very difficult pick. My votes, had I been in time, would have been 2 or 8...

  • Jaime replied 6 years ago

Congratulations on the honor Suz! 9 was a great choice for the reasons you laid out, but truthfully I like them all. And you need to wear the red pants with red boots at least once.

  • Jane replied 6 years ago

I hope you had a fabulous time. All were fab outfits, but great to choose the one DH selected.

  • chouette22 replied 6 years ago

Yay, happy to hear as this was absolutely my favorite. I am sure you looked smashing!

  • LaPed replied 6 years ago

Excellent choice. :) Hope the evening was a success.

I hope the overwhelmingly positive response to the red pants helps get them out the door more often!

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Thank you all -- It went well. I really enjoyed wearing the gilet at long last and hope to bring it out for another spin or two in the city in a few weeks' time. I still have the "coat issue" -- and I'm not at all happy with the overcoat options -- but I enjoy wearing it so much that maybe I will just ignore that.

  • Janet replied 6 years ago

Entirely too late to this, but I’m glad you went with 9 and I hope you had fun! LOL in agreement with Angie about listening to our in-house stylists. :-)

  • Elizabeth P replied 6 years ago

Glad it went well!  Your choice was perfect.  I saw this too late to vote, but I sure hope you take #3 out for a spin sometime.  I love it.  What is that scarf?

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

YAY, Suz. CONGRATS, and you are soooo deserving of the praise and recognition. Much love to you. xo

    (Ignore overcoat issue).

  • Greenjeans replied 6 years ago

[Gasp.}  I ADORE these colors on you!  Thanks for the inspiration.

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Thank you all for your kind compliments -- much appreciated. The event went well and it was fun because one of my students (in the course I teach) was also there being recognized. :) The only sad part was that my supervisor was ill and could not come. I had really looked forward to her getting a bit of recognition herself because she is an excellent scholar but not a self-promoter so doesn't get as much attention as she deserves. At least her name was up in lights on the slide show.

Elizabeth, that scarf is from Sandwich. Don't have a Find yet. I got it in Montreal in the fall. Love it.

  • Freckles replied 6 years ago

You looked stunning Suz, so very glad that you got some public recognition.

  • Style Fan replied 6 years ago

    Excellent choice, Suz.  Congratulations.

  • Column replied 6 years ago

Belated congrats, Suz! And I love every one of those outfits—ESPECIALLY the ones with the red pants and scarves!

  • karen13 replied 6 years ago

I missed this yesterday. They are all fab. You now are set for the next weeks worth of outfits, 3 was my absolute fave because you get the red pants, boots and sort of a column of color too. You look wonderful in all of them. Congrats on your event.

  • krishnidoux replied 6 years ago

Late on this... I was choosing 9 too!
Details vraibrate better - probably because the rest is long and darker. The touch of red becomes intreeguing, the bracelet very feminine. You reasons to wear it only confirms it was the righ choice. I hope you had fun!

  • Cee replied 6 years ago

Put it all on and strip as you go !

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

LOL, Cee. It doesn't sound like that kind of event. Suz, you can do know wrong.

  • lyn67 replied 6 years ago

    8!!!!(and 9, too:-))
