You say palazzo, I say pizazzo...

Dear YLF, I'm not sure if these count as palazzo pants, but surely they are close.

Outfit 1 includes the Zara linen pants in Angie's roundup. I adore them. Easiest things in the world to put on and for me, the sagey olive is a bit of a wild card.

I actually wore them twice on my long conference weekend. Once as here, on Thursday night, and once as you've seen them before, with the Aritzia top and a different scarf and my denim jacket. It was (as usual!) FREEZING in the workshop/panel rooms. Brrrr. Scarves to the rescue.

I also wore these pale lilac "culottes" which seem to have a bit of a palazzo vibe, though maybe the length is wrong.  I promise I don't always wear this top from J. Crew, but I do have to admit it's incredibly useful to me. Lightweight cotton, not see-through, pretty pattern.

    Very stylish!

Call them what you want they both have the exact summery relaxed vibe I associate with the look. I especially love the light ones that brighten your hair, which is looking fantastic!

You are killing me with the fabness of the wide leg crops. OK I give up. I will order some and will refer to your posts for styling genius. And every time I see your Earth sandals, I have to talk myself down from lemming-ing. Repeating "Karen will not order any more non-wide shoes....Karen will not order any more non-wide shoes....Karen will not order any more non-wide shoes...."

What is it with the J Crew printed cotton tops? I have one that I bought on a whim years ago and its print and easy fabric somehow make it grow with EVERYTHING...it's my summer MVP.

I have been eyeing those silver sandlas on you and how great they look...where are they from?

And you are SO tempting me with those culottes! Truly, Suz, they look fabulous on you. Such great proportions.

I think both of these look great and I love a good print top. It just seems to bring everything together. I hear you on the cold AC, I have to carry sweaters with me all summer.

Summer conferences are so hard to dress for! Freezing air-con but you don't want to look seasonally confused. I am going to a conference next month and will have to work out that issue.

I love both of these on you and wow - that JCrew top is sensational on you. I thought you also had a matching skirt? It really is a MVP, JCrew can always be relied on to make some stellar pieces.

Two really smart summery outfits, Suz! I love your silver shoe and the denim jacket with the lilac pants - I struggle SO MUCH with adding interest to warm weather outfits, and you have done it masterfully in both outfits. AND you look comfy!

  • Becky replied 4 years ago

These outfits both look great, no matter what you call them. And I do love a top that is so versatile. Seems like those are hard to find sometimes.

Thanks for showing these lovely outfits. I have a few of these cropped whatevers and don't know what shoes to wear with them. In colder weather I used booties. But now with hot weather I am at a loss, because of short legs. I see you choose heels or platforms.

I hereby crown you Queen Palazzo.

Suz, KILLER all round. These are your "skirt" looks for the season. Fun to change things up. #6 is my best!

You always look so sharp, and make it look easy, too. Very happy, crisp, pretty, summery outfits.

Great looks!  I agree that the print on that top is so pretty and seems to go with everything.  I love those silver sandals too.

I'm with Angie - you win :)  And #6 is my favourite look. In  your honour, today I will wear my own cropped wide leg linen-y pants, the silver EF sandals (which I am struggling to style, I hate to admit) , a top of some sort, and a denim jacket :)

I hate that I even have to consider a jacket in June, but our summer weather is just not happening.

All of these look great! I especially like the olive pants, but boy oh boy is that top ever versatile!

  • replied 4 years ago

Great top! To me the pants are more culottes too-but all good either way :)

  • lyn67 replied 4 years ago

I love my wide pants no wider than yours, and both of these outfits are perfect! Stylish meanwhile screaming no fuss! & I Just LOVE that top, too- no wonders you wear it often!

  • Cardiff girl replied 4 years ago

The wide legs suit you and it’s nice to see you in a new silhouette, styled with your usual panache.

  • Karie replied 4 years ago

Call them whatever you want because they look fantastic on you! And that top is definitely a versatile workhorse.

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

Thanks, all. Yes, the workhorse print summer top. I knew this would be a winner the moment I saw it. I once had a simple cotton print top with lilac, sagey green, white, a bit of blue -- and I wore it so hard it eventually disintegrated. There was hardly an outfit in my closet that it wouldn't bring together or improve.

    Both outfits are perfect.  Flawless.
